I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against Security Credit Services for providing inaccurate and misleading information to the credit reporting agencies, which has resulted in serious violations of my rights under several federal laws, including but not limited to:14 USC 1671a (4)15 USC 1692c 15 USC 1681 The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)Violation of Rights:Security Credit Services has failed to accurately report the information related to my credit file, and this inaccurate reporting has caused undue harm and damage to my credit standing. The following laws have been explicitly violated in this process:14 USC 1671a (4) This statute prohibits the reporting of false or misleading information that could adversely affect a consumer's creditworthiness. The inaccurate data provided by your agency constitutes a direct violation of this provision.15 *** 1692c Under this law, you are prohibited from communicating with consumers in an inappropriate or misleading manner. Security Credit Services failed to comply with these regulations when reporting false information about my credit status.15 USC 1681 This section requires that credit reporting agencies ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data provided to credit reporting agencies. Your failure to correct the erroneous data in a timely and efficient manner has caused me significant harm, including emotional distress and financial loss.The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) Under the ****, consumers have the right to dispute inaccurate information and expect a reasonable investigation into the matter. This company have the nerve to file a claim against me and I don't even have an account with them. After further investigating, this is something they are know for, contacting random people they think owes them. Pathetic. No wonder you have a 1.4 review on ******* Your business practice is horrible and y'all should be shut down. How about finding the real people who owe you instead of finding random people online with the same name. I don't know how this fraudulent company is still in business and I don't know how they got my information. I will be reporting this to the *** and CFPB.Security Credit Services, LLC Response

This company is not licensed in the State of Florida and continues harassment tactics. I am requesting a CEASE AND DESIST because I never signed any contracts with them. My husband settled a debt with this company and received a confirmation letter stating the debt was settled and paid in full September 22, 2023. This company then sold the debt to *** collection agency. This company is not only practicing unethical but illegal practices. We are in the process of purchasing a home and if their illegal practices results in the denial of our ability to receive a home loan we plan to sue this company!Security Credit Services, LLC Response

In response to your review, SCS did not sell this account to CPC. The account was settled in full in between a time period where we typically place accounts with agencies that collect on our behalf, CPC being one of them. The account was then coded to settled, closed, and recalled from our agency, CPC, at that time. Therefore, your claim of practicing unethically and illegally is completely false. If there is a concern with your purchase of a future home, you could give our office a call and we will gladly assist you with anything needed for this account if your loan is at all affected.

The account was paid and determined to be settled for a lesser amount, it was determined to be settled/paid in full/closed in Sept 2023. Over a month later the company sold the amount that was not paid in the settlement to CPC. We had to contact both CPC and SCS with both companies pointing the finger at one another. SCS was unsure as to why the account went to CPC after the extended time lapse from settlement to it being issued to CPC. Once again very unethical and illegal practices by this company. The settlement letter has the representatives name who collected the funds and failed to close the account, I have no hesitation to mention. If you pay them make sure you get an email stating the debt has been settled/closed because if not they will continue to collect and sell your account to different companies.Review from Nicolette D

Security Credit Services: I am writing this email to inform you of the improper business practices by representatives within your organization. The individual in question are: ****** ***** - Supervisor ******* Your organization is in the business of purchasing debt from other companies in hopes of obtaining not only that balance but fees. When myself and a family member called your organization we were treated very unprofessional by all the above. We were even hung up multiple times. You are unable to get blood from turnips however you are able to catch bees with honey. I expressed multiple times that my family member has and is unable to work (ever) but I was looking to make a settlement on the debt and ***** (after multiple calls and hang ups) made one offer then told me she would have a payment arrangement team call me then hung up. It is NOT my debt but I am trying to get the balance off your books. As a supervisor I now know why her team: ****** and ******* misbehave the way they do. As they have learned by example. I have researched your company on the BBB website as well and I see why the complaints are as they are now from the experience that I have encountered. I hope this email doesn't fall on deaf ears as these ladies I can guarantee are causing your company a great deal of money. I am a person that truly believes in karma and it comes to serve dessert sooner or later. I appreciate your time and consideration in this matter. Ms. ********, We apologize if you feel you were mistreated. We did do a follow up on this account and listened to the calls taken to make sure our representatives are taking the proper actions. In our discovery, we found that our reps tried in all ways possible to assist Mr. ***, his wife, and yourself with this account as we have to take certain precautions on accounts that were demanded as fraudulent and having a cease and desist restriction. It appears that there is some confusion on this account as it has a cease request, a fraud claim, then a settlement request, so please understand that it makes the quality of the call quite difficult to resolve if there is not a clear indication of what is going on. We do hope to get our agency to assist you in all ways possible for a better payment plan and any other requests. Please reach out to us with any further concerns. Our customer service representatives tried to assist in every way possible to have this account taken care of. They tried asking you for your email address in order to send you a settled in full letter, but instead, the call turned to you wanting to speak with your lawyer, in that case, we transferred you back to the agency handling your account to assist you further. Again you called harassing our representative with your derogatory remarks when they were trying to advise you how long it takes for the credit bureaus to update accounts. We apologize if you feel the way you do, but all actions were handled in the best way possible.Customer Response

There was no harassment from me, was I was frustrated after being hung up on twice which is extremely unprofessional. I would like to add that after my account was paid in a settlement this company sold the remaining debt to another collector which is illegal.
