Our Doberman had a tumor of the mammory gland. Surgery was set up for 12/20/23. We arrived on time and the surgery went well. The aftermath is the problem. The staff neglected to send our 90# dog home with an E collar. We were told to put a t-shirt on her. The next day she pulled the drain tube. We called and again were told to put a t-shirt on her. By Saturday she had popped several staples and opened her gut. Woodlawn was closed. We went to ******* to the Emergency Vet on **********. The first question out of Dr. ******* mouth was, "where is her cone?" We weren't given one and were told to put a t-shirt on her. This vet wasn't happy. She cleaned the wound, inserted a new drain tube, fixed the stuture and put her in a cone. I took her back to Woodlawn the Tuesday after Christmas only to find out they were still closed through Wednesday. Took her back Thursday and broke all of this down. They couldn't have cared less and told me Ecollars are not always necessary. Well, it was very necessary. We paid Woodlawn $500. We've since made another trip to the Er vet because she opened the drain hole and her guts were exposed. All together we have put out over $2000 for a surgery that should've cost $500. Woodlawn neglected to hear our stated needs and has caused undue stress, pain and risk to our dog. not to mention the financial ******************** caused my home. This is vet is negligent and heartless when it is brought to his attention with proof and evidence.
