Tombigbee Electric is a scam. My power was out for 5 days or 7 days, in feb for the ice storm, i can’t remember but somehow my light bill is over 240$. First the lady on the phone said “it’s for the heat you used during the ice storm” and i had to correct her that my power was completely out i had to stay with my sister around that time. They keep saying the same thing over and over saying “it’s your heater”. When the bill jumped up soon as January came and that was 170$. I stay in a 1 bedroom apartment and fixed all issues with electrical problems but somehow my light bill not including the extra lights outside is $249.36. They are scammers claiming i have all my heaters on when i don’t. I stay in one room ONE TV ON. BARELY COOK HERE. they are LIARS AND SCAMMERS. TOMBIGBEE WILL UPCHARGE YOU ONLY BC ITS WINTER AND THINK YOURE USING HEAT LIKE THEY ARE IN THEIR OWN HOUSES. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM AND A JOKE.

There are a lot out untruthful thing that Ms. ***** is saying.  We had a cold weather ice/cold event that happened the week of January 16, not in February.  This weather event started on Sunday, Jan 15 and lasted until Jan 24th.  This was the coldest weather event in 34 years according to the Weather Channel.  Attached you will find an outage report for her meter.  This shows every outage event over the past year at her meter on her house.  The lost is when the meter or house went out of power.  The normal is when it came back on.  The last outage at her house was on Oct 23, for around 1 hour.  I also talked to the Manager of Electrical Services.  He confirmed, the the longest outage a member of Tombigbee EPA has was the coldest morning of Jan 17, for around 6 hours and at no time did we have anyone out for 5 or 7 days.  I want to make that clear, we had no member, residential or commercial account out for more that 6 hours during the winter event.  We use Landis meters and they are very accurate and this is what the said Ms. ***** used, and no we don't just increase people bill because it is winter.

     Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: As you can see my power was out around the time they said the ice storm came.  LIKE I SAID THEY ARE LIARS AND SCAMMERS  5 or 7 days no power but my bill is higher than a months worth.  THEY ARE SCAMMERS  I HAVE EVERYTHING DOCUMENTED. THEY NEVER EVEN RETURNED MY CALLS TO FIX THE POWER. Only company that came to check on me was City Point Water Associtation for my water because my water went out as well. They are changing those meters and you can tell because I had no power and had to stay with a family member. I even contacted my Property Manager.  Everything is documented, I had a power outage Jan 16, they are saying it was last on October , but somehow i have proof that my power was out and I had to stay at a family member house around that time. THEY ARE CHANGING THOSE METERS  AND THEY KNOW IT

    Regards,

We didn't have anyone out for 2 days.  We had servicemen on call throughout the winter event and we responded to every call.  We never told anyone that we could not get to their house.  The message she has furnished is between the rental company/landlord and her.  Did the rental company have trouble in the house, like circuit breaker problems and the rental company could not send maintenance people out to her house?  Because it was not us.

i called them and had no response. why am i being charged for power when i had an outage that they knew of. The only power they came to fix was the white people. They are doing fraudulent business and they know it. This has nothing to do with me or my circuits and they know it. The first power outage in october had nothing to do with my circuits. they know THEY ARE SCAMMING PEOPLE OUT OF THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY AND WE ARE PAYING THEIR PORTION OF BILLS FOR THE USAGE IN THEIR OWN HOUSES.
