On October 31, 2023 in the State of Montana, Steven Austin Quimby, owner of Quimby Fence appeared in Lincoln County District Court to plead to felony theft and check forgery. The deal calls for two 5-year suspended sentences that would be served consecutively. The agreement requires Quimby to pay restitution to the victims in the amount of $28,957. His sentencing is scheduled for December 11, 2023.
Quimby was accused of taking nearly $29,0000 from six county residents to either build or mend fences, but never did the work.
