1 starMoved into a new house where CPI security system was already installed, but not active. The alarm consistently went off for no apparent reason. **************** had no way of disabling the alarm and said they couldn't send a technician out since I didn't pay for service. Unbelievable that a company's alarm can be going off in someone's house and they take no responsibility for it and have no way to resolve it.Review fromEVA A

1 starIf I could leave < one, I WOULD!! I have had CPI Security since 2010. The services have drastically diminished and I canceled my services In March 2025!! I called this morning and spoke with a representative that told me CPI required a 30-day notice. He then asked me to hold on and returned with "CPI requires a 60-day notice!" I told him I did not want to be billed for April 2025 and if I was it should be refunded. He said "there will no NO REFUND!!" I am paying CPI for NO SERVICES!!!! I would NEVER recommend his RIP-OFF company to anyone!Review from

1 star**************** and staffing at locations has been a nightmare. You get a different story from everyone you talk to. No one is crossed trained. We went thru our contract and went to cancel. Of course, sales pitch comes in and they offered a 3 month discounted rate for us to think about continuing service or not. Was told to contact during the 3rd month to cancel if we chose not to keep it. So I call to say we decided the cancellation is necessary and was informed we had to give 30 days notice, which wasnt told to us during the sales pitch. I informed I wanted a paper bill and not to debit our account and then I asked for a supervisor on the 24th and was told none were available and someone would call me. By the 26th, still no call so I went to an office, which had no employees other than a warehouse worker. Wow! She was as helpful as she could be, took my, address, phone number and indicated a supervisor would call. By the 28th still no call, so I followed up. This is again another not trained area. *** indicated the 3 months were an extension of our contract. Of course I disagreed to no avail and when I finally said Im recording this call - a supervisor was now available. Of which she indicated the 3 months werent a contact extension but 30 days was still required and that they processed their payment from our account on the 25th after being told on the 24th not to do that. This is stealing my money without my permission. Im told Im wrong because they require 30 days notice. Funny that sales dont tell you that when they are selling. Also, we had an incident where every alarm went off in our house, we couldnt stop it thru the panel and when I called no one knew what I was talking about as they didnt see any alarm triggered but during the call the alarms stopped. They say we triggered it from the panel when we were no where near the panel when it went off. Confidence level dropped at that point and I wouldnt recommend.Review fromTylan W

1 starI am filing this review as a warning to all CPI Security customers like myself who thought ******************** was a strong and reliable security company to trust to keep me and my family safe, Man was I wrong, On March 18 2025 I had to submit a complaint to ******************** team against EX-Girlfriend for unauthorized access to a computer system in violation of N.C.G.S. ****** ******************** Without Authorization). My ex-girlfriend has illegally accessed my CPI Security System, which controls my home surveillance cameras, after her access was revoked by me, on my ********** and CPI Website applications on December 6, 2023. When she moved out, but as of March 18 2025 She has continued to monitor, record, and attempt to use this surveillance footage against me in an ongoing family court case, despite having no legal right to access my system.I have three minor children who also live with me who are all under the age of 9 Years old and I fear that they have been monitored and recorded while being naked and in other compromising positions. that have been downloaded a redistributed for sexual *********** purposes by my ex-girlfriend. I have made CPI Security aware of the situation In an effort to stop this illegal activity by asking for CPI Legal Team to take action to help get this child predator arrested, but up to this point no action has been by CPI Legal Team to pursue this crime against me and my minor childrenReview fromSubroto R

1 starI am extremely frustrated by the poor service and mismanagement I’ve encountered with CPI Security. Despite having already paid for the service, I’ve been struggling for over two weeks to get the work completed at my home. I initially spoke with Keisha and another representative (whose name I can’t recall) to schedule the service, but things quickly went downhill from there. Leonte, the service technician refused to complete the job, claiming that it was the installer’s responsibility and he advised me to contact Customer Care and file a complaint. After speaking with Jeremy, a service manager at CFL, he assured me someone would be scheduled soon but never followed up. I then spoke with Susan, who managed to schedule a service for the next morning and assured me there would be no issues, only to be told by Susan next day that the Operations team required a prepayment before coming. This was despite the fact that I had already paid, as confirmed in their records. I had already taken time off from work for this service, and now I’ve had to take additional time off, only to encounter further issues. Susan directed me to her supervisor, who never called back. I had to follow up again and spoke with Sean Minniasi, who was incredibly arrogant and unhelpful. He demanded proof of payment, which I provided, only to be told he couldn’t schedule anything for the next two months. When I asked to escalate the issue, he claimed there was no higher authority. I also asked about ending the contract, and he stated I would have to pay for the entire remaining balance for the next 12 months. My house renovation is now stalled due to the delay in moving the security panel, and I’m left completely frustrated with no clear solution in sight. CPI Security is clearly mismanaged and shows no care for their loyal customers. I expect them to not only complete the job, but also to provide fair compensation for the lost days of work I’ve had to take due to their incompetence.Review fromMelissa M

We referred a relative to CPI and our relative informed CPI Security. Neither of us have been compensated for the referral because one representative says we were to complete the referral online and another representative says we were supposed to call customer service!!! I will NOT refer anyone else! I'm extremely unhappy about this!!!**Installation Issue**During the Installation the Tech broke our garage light. *** agreed to replace it but we had to chase them down.**Service**The cameras aren't recording everything. You'll have a recording of someone coming to your home but never see a recording of them leaving.CPI Security Systems

Thank you for your feedback. It is very important to us. I have reviewed your account. The referral has to be put in by the existing customer through the *** website or app prior to the new customer contacting us. The reasonthat the credit wasnt appled is because the correct process was not followed. We didn't receive the referral until 5 months after the new customer was referred. We did mail the customer a check for the garage light. It is a process and paperwork that has to be completed for damages. However, we do apologize about the delay that you experienced when getting assistance for the garage light. We would be glad to have someone assist you with your cameras, if you are still in need of assistance.Review fromEdwina D

Good Morning,Thank you for your feedback. It is very important to us. I have thoroughly reviewed your account history. In May 2022, you executed a 60- month agreement for monitoring services with CPI. In addition to the 60-month agreement, you opted to take advantage of our Smart Pay program where you would not have to pay for the equipment upfront but pay it off over 60 months. These two agreements are coterminous. The contractual agreement states that if the agreement is at default for any reason, an early termination fee will apply. If the new homeowners took over the remaining time of your monitoring agreement, you would only be responsible for the remaining equipment charge. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.Review fromTerry S

This company is horrible there contracts are horrible and even after filling a bankruptcy and adding them they still sent me to collections so my lawyer will be resolving that. You call you get the runaround, people say they will call you back and they dont. Its just terrible if someone moves out of a State you dont service why on earth would you continue to charge them or make them still pay on a contract. I would understand a disconnect fee but get real. You should be ******* as a company. I will never refer anyone to this company bad business.CPI Security Systems
