I found Chef ***************************** (The Favored Chef) on Instagram. We communicated via email July 2021 up until the last invoice was paid on October 30, 2021. He was paid in full (per his request and policy) for an event that he did not show up for on November 21, 2021. It was a milestone event, my moms 50th Birthday. Our group traveled from Georgia to ********* expecting to enjoy a privately catered brunch by Chef *************************. The day of the event, he was not responding to emails, text, calls, or Instagram. Once he decided to respond, after going through loops to contact him he said that he had been rushed to the hospital the previous night with double pneumonia. He said that he forgot about the brunch and would refund me. He has not issued a refund, in which he communicated via text that he would refund the money on December 1, ******************************************************************* which I have learned that we were not the first consumers that he has scammed out of money. He has now stopped responding to all texts and calls. His behavior is unacceptable and is disheartening. He is preying on consumers by getting their money, not delivering the services that they pay for, and not refunding the money. I hope that this complaint reaches anyone who decides to use his services.
