I purchased a car back in August 2023. I felt Great in the moment but it was short lived. My check engine light came on the day after I drove off the lot. They made me pay $100 to fix the problem. 5months later the belt or pump needs to be replaced. I was never able to get it diagnosed due to being repoed for insurance. I was aware of the policy as Ive purchased a vehicle from *************** and their policy is the same. The difference between the two lots is that Car By U is not willing to work with you. I was towed for my insurance on 1-11-25. I reached out informing them that I would have the insurance reinstated on Wednesday 1-24-24 when my direct deposit posts and was informed I only have til the 19th to claim my car. I begged and pleased for them to work me and they did not budge. They were very cold about the situation. They tried to make me an aggressor and accused me of not letting them speak. I would let the guy have the floor but the moment I would try to respond hed cut me off, act like I was yelling and being irate w/ him. I was very cool and collected until he told me I couldnt afford my car. I never had a late payment !! You literally cant have a late payment or youll get towed because they dont work their buyers at all. There was literally no one willing to help me. Off the back there is $1000 (595, 250, 150 and 25 per day for storage) in charges to get the car back. They added an additional fee that was not disclosed in the initial email. Which is why I needed til 1/24/24. I had $1,400 on the 19th but it was already over ***** to get my car. I just needed five more days and could have continued our business. I wouldnt have a repossession getting ready to hit my credit. I lost my car for something that had a solution. I am a supervisor for ***** so I make decent money. They just wouldnt offer more time. My spirit is low to say the least. It was a pretty stressful way to start ****. Keep this in mind before signing a contract with them.

As the customer stated the vehicle was repossessed because customer failed to have vehicle insurance. We provide a 10 day grace ****** to all our customers to give extra time for just these unfortunate occasions. This customer called the payment center as well as the dealership demanding that we give him more time. When we explained that 10 days was the protocol the customer began yelling and using foul language towards the staff.
