The date in question is 6-14-2024. I financed a vehicle with this company `back in November 2023. The contract we have is for 24 months .My daughter drives, so she put insurance on the car. The policy was for 6 months and ended on June 28th. She didn't renew that policy because she wanted to find something cheaper. I also wanted to do some repairs (ac compressor)..I was on the way to pick up the part on July 6 and i had a heat stroke. The damages were pretty bad but they could be fixed. So my car was at the tow yard for 7 days and when i went back to get it , they said it was picked up by the carlot. I went to the carlot and the owners son said he couldnt release it and they refused to let me make my car payment. Come to find out they had told the insurance company that they did a repo and had not heard from me. They said the accident happened on June 14. I had just made the payment on June 12th. The insurance company caught them in the act of fraud. They won't give me my car or my money back. As of today I'm still not under repo and they won't allow me access to my car.Initial Complaint

I am writing to file a complaint against ********* Auto Sales, located in *********, **. The reason for my complaint is that they repossessed my car without providing any written documentation as required by ************** law, and they refuse to communicate with me regarding a remedy to cure the default.Furthermore, ********* Auto Sales has repeatedly asked for the keys to the car as if they are trying to wait out the time to sell the car. They have also exhibited a pattern of behavior of doing this to multiple people, leaving me feeling taken advantage of and helpless. When I purchased the car from ********* Auto Sales, I agreed to make monthly payments until the car was paid off. However, when I missed a payment, they repossessed the car without providing me with any written documentation stating that they would provide a remedy to cure the default. As a result, I have been left with no way to know how much I owe to regain possession of my vehicle, and they refuse to communicate with me about it.In addition, ********* Auto Sales keeps gaslighting me and hiding behind what they think is ************** law. They are not adhering to the legal requirement of providing written documentation and are using this to take advantage of me and others in similar situations.I urge the Better Business Bureau to investigate this matter and take appropriate action against ********* Auto Sales for their deceptive and unfair practices. I demand that they provide me with a written documentation stating the amount required to cure the default and that they adhere to ************** law in all future business transactions.Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.Sincerely,*******************Business Response

We at Coliseum auto sales and service strive to have great consumer service in last 35 years.
This consumer purchased a 2011 ******* sonata from ** on 1.31.23 in As IS condition and we financed this deal here in house and contracted with him to pay 2 pick up payments and monthly payments.
consequently he did not pay any payments despite multiple calls, texts and conversations with him promising that he will be in to pay and not showing up.
After those payments and were ignored and went unpaid as the lien holder we ordered the vehicle to be repossessed since he was in default of his contract.
We regret to have to go to these extreme measures as we tried to work with this consumer and he did not respond as he promised.
We have all his sighed documents here and will provide them upon written request as copies were provided to him already.
Thank you as always for your efforts to resolve this matter.

On 10/18/2022 I purchased a car from Colisem auto sales. Before purchasing and after test driving I stated the issues as in when making turns it would not fully turn and it would stutter a little also when asking about the parking lights single that was on in the car I was told not to worry but whenever I need an inspection to go to them. As I was driving home the same day of purchasing the vehicle the engine light came on so I returned the following day 10/19/2022 and was told that it can possibly be the oil because the vehicle needed premium and they were using regular on a **** Land Rover. The mechanic turned off the engine light but it came back on again on my way home then I called and asked for a copy of the inspection paper was told by the owner and ****** several times that it was at *** I asked why I cannot receive a copy, it was stated by both parties that I didn't need it, the person who handles it is not here. he'll be here tomorrow, he'll come at a later time. I received a call yesterday from the owner at 5:56 pm asking what was my issues so of course I restated the issues and proceeded telling him the car was just getting worse and I asked again for a copy of the inspection papers, the owner started yelling at me over the phone saying he has it and if I think I am going to go digging up something I don't know what else he said because I hung up the phone. today 11/30/2022 at 10:51 the owner had my vehicle repossessed. I paid $2000 down payment and $623 for the tax and title fees. ****** is who sold me the car but the owner finalized it. ****** stated that his aunt works at the *** and I was supposed to receive my License plate by the 18 of this month and never received it. I even asked if we can work something out so I can get another car he said no. I was told the car should have never been sold to me because of the lights that was on.Business Response

Dear BBB,
We at Coliseum Auto Sales & Service take pride in our 33 years of continued impeccable sales and service in this community at this location.
This consumer has made some allegations that are not true either caused by misunderstanding or miss communication.
She purchased a vehicle from us on10.18.22 IN "AS IS" condition and it was financed in house.
she made some partial payments and failed to pay in full in timely manner as agreed on in writing and there fore the vehicle was repossessed.
We have all the signed paper work and the contract as well as the Inspection receipt and we will supply them to you upon request in writing.
We regret this bad experience by this consumer but we try to be fair and helpful in these situations but due to high risk of our financing we also have to be careful so timely payments specially in the first month of contract is very important.
She also may return the keys to the vehicle and pick up her belongings as well as discussing the terms to get the car back.
Thank you for your effort in trying to resolve this issue.
Sincerely.
Al Ashrafi.
President.
