I brought my 2018 Ram 2500 Power Wagon to get simple repairs completed. The *** replaced, Ignition coil #1 replaced, and all spark plugs replaced. The truck was in their possession for 14 days and I kept getting the runaround and pushed off until the next day. At the 14th day they told me that the battery died and lost the tune in my truck. Which any performance shop I called to see if this was possible they in fact informed me that in order for a vehicle to lose a tune it would be from a flash reset. The mechanic flash reset my ECU without my consent. The dealership then proceeds to tell me that I am responsible for getting it towed out of there (which I fought and they agreed to tow it to my home only) and finding a place to re-tune my truck which I do understand they do not do that there, but they were only willing to work with me on a price to bring the truck back to factory instead of helping me find a performance shop to fix their mistakes and to cover that cost. The mechanic (**** *******) lied to me about the dead battery that miraculously factory reset my truck and the advisor ( ******* ******) kept pushing me off day after day and had no rush to tell me anything about the truck and really has no vehicle knowledge or customer competency. The mechanic claims to not know about the engine modification but I have a voicemail that proves they knew something about it and still flashed the truck without my consent. I drove the vehicle there for simple parts changes of which only one part was chamhed and now has to be towed out and put on me to correct their mistakes. I spoke to Mr. ***** yesterday and he currently has the truck at a tuner to reinstall the lost tune to restore drivability. I spoke to the tuning shop as well and will follow up with the client once the updates are completed.I will discuss the findings with the Service Manager and the General Manager to determine if any further action is needed.
Mr. ***** was pleased to have a follow up yesterday and was open to discussing his vehicle and the experience.Customer Response

The Tuning shop (******************) was able to get my truck back to working order. I do appreciate that Mr. **** ******* was in contact with me after I posted the initial review. He has been helpful in determining shared costs and very helpful in checking in on both the truck and me. His care and follow through is a blessing from God that was well needed in this time. He is definitely a great asset to **** Hiester. Thank you very much Mr. ******* and ultimately **** Hiester for helping get this issue addressed.Customer Response

After my truck was received at my home from the dealership I was able to get the truck towed over to ****************** in *******. They got my truck in working order again which I am super thankful for. Mr. **** *******, once I posted the original review, reached out to me to discuss the details of everything and went into overdrive to do his best to assist in getting everything settled. He was super helpful in coming up with an agreed shared remedy to the accumulated costs. He was awesome to work with. He is a huge asset to the **** Hiester name and businesses. Thank you Mr. ******* and ultimately **** Hiester for this quick action to help me on costs with this matter. I took my Dodge Journey here about 2 weeks ago as my transmission was not kicking out of 1st gear and had a light on. They had my car a little over 2 weeks, which is not their fault as I didn't have an appointment and they were working it into their schedule, which I appreciated. They called and informed me I needed a new transmission which was going to cost approximately $8000 with labor. The tech nor the service advisor could give my boyfriend a valid reason or how they got to the determination it needed a new transmission other than it had a lot of miles and the fluid was burnt. We called multiple times to get more information and no one could give us a straight answer. We ended up having my journey towed to a *********** shop about 20 minutes away and they looked at it within a day or two of receiving it. They called and I, in fact, did not need a new transmission; it was an easy fix and my car is running like new again and it cost me $0 with the new shop as they said it wasn't a complex issue and were able to fix it quickly. I bought my car from the Dodge dealer and had been faithful to them but this is absolutely absurd and they were just trying to scam me out of $8k. Good afternoon. I completely understand why you would feel that way if your Journey is driving perfect now. We use the data used from the manufacturer computers as well as our cerfified technician. The code on the transmision was P1745. This is most likely the fault code caused by restriction in the valve body. I do hope the flush you got will sufice for a long time. Our finding is this may fix the issue for a short time and then the issue will re occur in a short time or be a tempory fix. We try our hardest to give the best and most solutions to fix the customers vehicle. Our goal is customer first and never want ot try to charge the customer for something they do not need. Terrible service ***** Had an appointment just to get headlight replaced on 9/27/23 and was quoted $1600 cost because they cant replace just the bulb but needed "to replace the headlight assembly" unit as the headlights are factory manufactured. YES, I have their work order to prove it and everyone at my work site couldn't believe it till I showed them and told what the service mechanic said. Also, that I needed to replace two of my valve cover gaskets. I have Not had any issues with oil leaks or oil running low. Next day I took my 2017 Cherokee Jeep to another garage and had the bulbe ( one headlight bulb) replaced that was $109 plus labor charge - total approx $200. No oil leak or valve gasket needing replaced. This is poor business and just dishonest. I think they just didn't want to deal with it. I will not go back to **** Hiester for service / maintenance. I completed understand the customers stance and concerns. I do agree with the customer about the buld. I personally did some research and the customer is absolutley correct. You can replace the headlamp bulb without replacing the assembly. I do appologive for the bad imformation. I ****** enjoy an opportunity to try to make up to the customer and if he would like at no charge we would be happy to relook at the valve cover gasket with the customer present, as well as my self and the service manager. And if it is needed we would happily to it at a very reduced rate. Again we do appologive for the miss diagnostics on the head light assembley. IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME AND MONEY, TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE.I have never gone out of my way to submit a review for anything online, but this is the exception. On Thursday 9/7/23, my wife took our vehicle for an oil change, a couple days later the auto start/stop warning light came on. This vehicle is less than 3 years old and has not had any issues until I got the service recently. I returned to the service center, to explain the issue. I asked the service rep if they could check it out. She went inside to a service tech and he told her theres nothing that they would do to mess with any sensors(which is a lie, you literally went into the engine compartment) then I was told they cant check it out today, that I can make an appointment in 3-4 weeks to have an $90 hours diagnostic done and that their labor runs at $170 and did to include the replacement parts if needed.Then I explained that we had issues with their services before after a simple air filter change. Their service tech did not properly seat the cover back on that caused resistance in the engine. My wife and I had to take time away from work to solve an issue that was at the fault of **** Hiesters incompetent service technicians.The funny part after I left, I went to Oriellys Auto Parts next door and the service clerk ran a diagnostic for free in less than 5 minutes. He found the fault and I am currently looking for an alternative solution to fix my vehicles problem now.Bottom line I gave them a chance to check a simple sensor. You want to cost me money so Ill make an effort to return the favor. For any potential future customers in the local area, if you value your time and hard earned money, GO ELSEWHERE. I just spoke with *******************************. He is correct in that we could have definetly helped him out when he came in Saturday. We need to do a test on his axcillary battery. It does cause a light to come on the dash usually caused when the battery has a low charge. We did do the oil change 2 days prior before the light came on. An oil change is completely different then an oil change. If it was something that could have been done from the oil change I would be happy to take care of it. I did speak to the customer and offered for us to perform the battery test and it may take several hours, so I offered the customer a loaner car for the mean time so they do not have to wait and be inconvenienced.
