1 starI would leave 0 if it were an option. 24/7 customer service is a lie. I have been attempting to contact their customer service for over 24 hours due to suddenly getting locked out after paying them 45$ to reschedule an appointment. I cannot get ahold of the help I need and its entirely unacceptable to have customer service of this nature when dealing with a legally required device that literally controls my ability to get to and from my job. If I had an emergency situation on the side of the road monitech would be the cause of my being stranded there. No one answers. The callback option is broken. And the literal souls of their reps ***** broken when you do actually finally speak to a savior who answers the line. I have never in my life encountered such an abysmal service. To be legally bonded to a device for a year that has no one to help me when it messes up is the most unfair and honestly cruel practice of a company. This service is predatory and they have us held hostage by holding a government contact. The state needs to get involved and reevaluate this company because they are a true waste of the taxpayer money. As a professional customer service rep for a big bank, if we did this to our customers, we would be out of a job by the end of this sentence. How this is even legal let alone legally required is beyond me.Review fromToyneka W

1 starThis company is a scam and someone needs to take legal action against them. They actually have these devices set up to fail and I'm almost sure of it and I'm going to continue to dig for proof. I've spent over $500 in lockout charges and that's not including the monthly bill. Today I had an appointment and the man said my lip gloss is what is throwing off the machine. Wow! Then I made my payment and not even 2 hours after I have left Monitech I get in my car and it tells me to call service provider I failed a test due to alcohol. Of course no one has answered the phone and they never want to admit that their equipment is faulty. Now it's hard enough trying to get through life as is but to have this company out here taking advantage of people should be against the law. I'm following the law and I'm doing what I'm supposed to do with this machine and they are making it very hard for people out. The excuses behind the fails is what leads me to further believe that this is a scam and the people know it. It's just going to take someone to speak up on the inside about it. You can't have messed up equipment and then make the customer pay for it or you can't even operate your vehicle. This is becoming past unacceptable. No one should be treated this way and have to go through this. BBB needs to run an investigation into this because God knows I have been compliant and there is no way that Monotech should be cashing out on me like this. All because I want to do right.Review fromMary M

1 starGot a Monitech device installed less than a week ago. I have driven my car with the device installed 4 times, and each time only drove about one mile. Passed all the start and arrival tests, and on the 4th time in less than one week following installation, the device is telling me ; "service is required. Take the device to a service center within 7 days".I called the ***** service number. Waited on hold the first time for 47 minutes, then chose to leave a call back number. After 2 hours, still no call back.I am currently waiting again on the phone....its been 24 min. I am glad I am not sitting on the road somewhere. This is unacceptable:(Review fromConesha D

1 starI have been on the phone with their elevator music for two days trying to get my recall fixed. I have requested a call back also have stayed on the line for hours until it send you to a voicemail. As if I do not have a job to get to!? Then theyll tell you if it gets into lockout mode its $45 but if yall dont answer the phone to get it out of lockout mode before the third day, how is it that we have to pay? Its ridiculous, do not recommend their service. Find anybody else! I wish I could give zero stars.Review fromErnie T

1 starI currently in my possession have paperwork that I can provide to anyone that request Friday I received a new head unit for my monitech interlock. Sunday I started my vehicle and passed the first 3-4 test, then fail/lockout for 5min. Then retake test and pass. Continue driving an pass the next 2. I get home an it throws a 5038 violation code. I go into the office on Friday my box was calibrated three times at 0.069, 0.049 and 0.049. Sunday was the violation date. I go into the office on Wednesday the first test on my unit reads 0.061. A 0.011 defect in a few day. They recalibrate it to 0.049 on their machine and then proceed to tell me I still owe them $45. This has happened multiple times to both me and two people I know personally. Also happened to two people I met in a ******** group. FYI the operator for technical support told me maybe it was my windshield wiper fluid, something I ate earlier in the day, air freshner or possibly something that had come in through my air vent. Regardless I can either pay the $45 or have the box removed in my license suspended and brought before the DMV for a hearing. The moral of the story is don't use your air conditioner, do not eat anything if you plan to drive that day and never use your air conditioner or heat. Water is ok to drink if you plan to drive that day but anything other than that an it's $45. I have paperwork in hand and I have asked that my recorded calls with the company be pulled I am fully ready to display my evidence to anyone who dare say that my claim is false. I would also like to add that I feel like the $45 is fair if you miss a running test and it is fair if you blow positive for alcohol more than one time but these air vent, cheeseburger, Pepsi, or my personal favorite maybe you rode by something with your window down that possibly got into the cab and contaminated the unit?? That's my favorite of all... I'm 2head units, 7 $45 fines, and I've driven to the location 40min away 9 times. Thanks.Review fromJustin H.

1 starFirst off, got the interlock installed and it was fine. Waited for my dmv appointment which was a couple months away due to the pandemic and when I went to do the driving test I failed because my check engine light was on. So I schedule my next dmv appointment (2 months away) and realize my registration expired. Got it fixed and inspected so the check engine light wasn’t on, registration renewed everything was good except the registration wouldn’t be here in time. So rescheduled again for the next closest date which was 2 months out. Got the registration, and on the way to my next dmv appointment and the check engine light turned on again. At this point I checked reviews and realized I made a big mistake. Kinda odd because I just got it inspected and passed. Also the check engine light wasn’t on before I got the interlock installed. So I made an appointment to get it uninstalled because I had been paying them for about 8 months now as well as having to go to the shop multiple times. The service technician came out and uninstalled it about 2 weeks later after being told they would be there within 48 hours. No call, nothing until I called them and complained that I paid $100 for them to come out as soon as possible. Now I go to start my car, battery is dead. No big deal, I have jumper cables. Sit and charge it for 39 minutes trying to start it and all I’m getting is clicking. Looks like something’s wrong with the alternator. Problem is… I literally got a new alternator 5 months prior to installing the device! I will be looking at options for getting compensation from Monitech for causing damage to my car due to lack of proper, professional and qualified staff. This company is very unprofessional and has terrible customer serviceReview fromMolly S

1 starOne stars is a very very very very big streach!! I would actually give a minus 5 if I could!!! After using monotech for a month and a half I am running to ***** *****! The 2 hour install actually took 4 hours AFTER I proactively told them that it was a hybrid. Monotech has antiquated equipment that barely works, especially when it stays in the heat (great to have when its so hot outside and it isn't detecting your breath or the trigger). It takes AT LEAST an hour to get in contact with them IF they call you back. And no, they don't care about updating their technology. I am SOOOOO excited to work with ***** *****!!! The ONLY good thing about monotech is the installer named TONY- he was great!!!Review fromChad E.

Thieves!! My issues started during installation of the device on my truck. As I was in the waiting room during my installation I began to receive emails from my truck's on star saying my vehicle was having issues with several systems. When I went to bring this to the techs attention is looked at me and said everything seemed to be working. He got me my receipt and the installation verification and we went to the truck for him to run me through how it works. I got the truck started and my check engine light was on, the power reduction notification and driver side window notification we both on my dash. The tech called his "manager" **** who told him to have me test it out to see how it runs. I back out and drive a few hundred feet noticing right away the truck was in limp mode and wouldn't accelerate so I backed up to the garage for him to look into the issues. He spoke to his manager on the phone to start troubleshooting to no avail. The tech was absolutely clueless on how this was supposed to be installed and I started to take pictures of some of the horrible splices and wiring craftsmanship. After two hours of trying to fix it then manager told him to call a tow truck and dealership to fix it. I responded only if Monitech is paying for all the costs to repair. **** the manager assured me it would all be covered and I asked for a claims report before I leave. I was told there wasn't a claims form and he would call me in the morning to get the dealership the card info. Next morning nothing, I called customer service twice and was told she didn't have the managers number and could only email. She then told me around noon "I was giving **** enough time to call me"? Sorry to inconvenience ****. So I drove to the garage to confront the tech who tried calling twice. No response. So now I will be on the hook to repair the wiring they screwed up which will be over $500 and Monitech still need to remove the equipment after the dealer. By far the worst customer services everMonitech, LLC
