1 starIt a terrible place. Son was admitted there twice transferred from ******************************** as he is on ******** and not worth their time to fill out so they shipped him out both times to Holly Hill. Its interesting that when my son had ********** excellent insurance before he was ******** he was admitted there and received much better care and the facility was better than his my son described Holly Hill. The last time he as there was March of 2024. He was there for 7 days or 8 days. Just terrible. My son, now 39, I am his legal guardian, on *** and ********, recently told me that Holly Hill and ************************** Physicians took a total of $2000 out of his checking account which threw him into a negative balance. No bill no explanation almost a year after the fact. How is this legal? How did they get his checking account number. I am pursuing this with the ** attorney general.Review fromPenny S

1 starI find it hard to believe the BBB would give this place an A+. My grandson who has suffered several traumatic events in the past few years was admitted on 5/2/2024. On 5/3/2024 he was physically assaulted by another patient on the playground. The staff didnt notify us at all. I called for my daily call and he told me what happened. His mother was on her way to the facility with his clothes when I called to inform her of the assault. When she arrived to drop off the clothes, staff said they were going to call her eventually. She demanded to see him and was allowed. He had a black eye from the assault. My daughter was assured nothing else would happen. He was assaulted again the next day by the same patient. We didnt find out until that Sunday when we went to visit and staff once again wasnt the ones who told us. My grandson stated that he didnt feel safe there. He also informed us that he had not had meds since he got there. He has severe allergy induced allergies. He takes to prescribed pills. A daily inhaler, a rescue inhaler and nasal spray. He is allergic to grass, trees and pollen. He also takes depression medication and antipsychotic medication. None of these were given during his stay from a Thursday through Monday. My daughter gave a list of medication and dosage during his intake over the phone. Not to mention he was transferred from an emergency room. They should also have sent a med list. My daughter dropped off a duffel bag full of shorts and Tshirts. He had not had a shower since Wednesday while in the emergency room psych holding. He had on the same clothes he wore to the hospital Wednesday when we visited on Sunday. He stated he wasnt given his clothes yet. We asked to speak to whoever was in charge and when asked about all of these things, they called the police on us. The Raleigh PD is a joke as well. They informed us that a judge had to sign an order for us to take him home. When we asked them how to make this happen we were told to ****** it.Review fromKaylee N

1 starAs a patient in the worst time of my life, told id be taken to a place for help. Not only was i refused my medications, i was forced to sleep next to a woman id often finding her staring at me or 6 inches from my bed in the middle of the night, or the patient peeking into rooms while i and other women changed. The overall care for human well being is non existent at holly hill. All i received was mental, medical, and sexual abuse during my stay. The complete disregard for my diagnosed tissue disorder, to the point of having to reduce my own dislocation. I was told id be seen by a doctor " in a little bit", that was 2 days later and again i already reduced the dislocation. if i could pursue legal action would however that's not in my cards.Review fromArb B

Worst place ever. So much abuse. The child psych (Dr. *** belittles patients and uses chemical restraints rather than therapy and other modalities. You'd think he would be more understanding after having to go inpatient himself to get his medical license back after all his DUI charges. He has no business being a physician, especially in the mental health field.Holly Hill Hospital

1 starIf I could give a zero I would. My husband is a diabetic. He was taken there via transport service. Arrived at 9am and sat in a chair until 8pm with a hospital gown and socks. He requested his medication which is in his backpack they took from him. He was told to get his own next time. He is cold and has yet to be admitted. I called to speak with admissions and was hung up on when I asked to make sure he was seen. I called police for wellness check, the officer attempted multiple times and no one answered. I will pursue this with the state. This hospital should be shut down! Animals have been treated better.Review fromSara T

1 starIf I could give a zero I would. I had to bring my child here and she came.out she wa worse than when she went in. We were greeted by a woman rolling her eyes at us. The staff never returned my calls and always said a doctor would call me. My child never saw a doctor until I had to make multiple calls and threaten to take it higher level. This place needs to be shut down. I will be filing a grievance with the board.Review fromLola L

1 starWell the worst experience in life. No fire alarms. The staff is just unsupervised toddlers. Give ur love ones some room and let them breath. It would have been better for me then this.Review fromJennifer B

1 starNever again will I allow my child to be hospitalized there. He came out with more trauma than he went in with. The staff do not communicate with parents and lie to cover their behinds when they are called out. The state needs to do a thorough investigation as to what is happening within the walls. I have had a lot of experience with facilities such as this with my 4 adoptive children and this is nothing short of pathetic! Parents beware and advocate for your children.Review fromMolly B

1 starhonestly, i dont even know where to start or whether this review means anything to anyone. i was 17 and i was put in the juvenile part of holly hill. when i was in the emergency room, i was worried about going to this place because the word on holly hill is its not that great. the doctors told me that people that write reviews on this place are disgruntled and not mentally competent. but no, its quite the opposite- all of these reviews sum up what i went through. i am doing much better now, and i have done a 180 recovery from what landed me in the hospital, but i will never forget the negative impact that this hospital had on my perception of other people- and the mental health system in ** in general. to keep it brief- constant fighting. belittling staff. no therapy like promised. understaffed or the staff that is present simply doesnt care. yelling, violence, anger, its just a whole mess. the only thing that i took from this experience in a positive light is discovering my passion to tear hospitals like this down in the future. its been a while since ive left this hospital, and i havent even wanted to think about it, but i thought i should add my piece ??Review fromJaden D

1 starI was there for Suicidal thoughts and multiple suicide attempts and it did not help at all. I am 14 and when I went there were multiple fights and constant yelling I had trouble sleeping and never even got my clothes until my time was almost up. I don't understand why this place does not take good care of their patients. All we did was stare at ** all day and then rarely go to the gym. I will say that they have improved on getting us to move around more by going to an art room or going to the gym but even then it wasn't good at all. I'm honestly so glad I'm not in there anymore because a friend of mine in there was judged by the staff my friend said "you must hate working here" when he was having an anger breakdown and she said "said the one that has a slash on their neck" and I'm like wtf you don't say that to your patients you try and give them comfort and try to calm them down but no they didn't. Also when I was there they staff member verbally abused patients and another staff member started crying about it. I honestly think this place should be closed down it has a 1-star rating. Another kid also had a breakdown and they let then throw his shoes at the ** and barely did anything. I lost so much sleep its unreal and If you're a parent I don't recommend this place for kids.
