  Painted cabinets and some doors and handles do not line up. Plus paint coming off after 1wk. Text and called numerous times. No reply

  Date of transaction : Jul 24 2023 Amount paid : $2000 Business committed to : Outlined in the contract. ( Open wall, run vent from kitchen range, through wall down to crawlspace and out of of the exterior wall ) Nature of dispute : Work not performed as agreed upon. Did business tried to resolve problem : **** keeps postponing the work. Details : ( had to cut this short because of word limit ) **** gave an estimate for installing a vent for kitchen range hood. There is a bedroom behind *****************. And an attic above the kitchen. He wrote a contract to open kitchen and bedroom walls, run a "standard vent" down to the crawlspace, and out through the exterior wall, repaint /retile walls. He uses a fake contract number on his contracts and says licensed/insured. When he showed up for the job, the next week, he "proposed" that the attic might be better. And if it doesnt work, he will be back to fix whatever is needed. We thought he would adjust the price based on how much he worked especially as it was an itemized list. We were also naive to not realize that the guy had this planned it beforehand. ( Give a quote for a larger job, do a smaller one, keep the money ) We had to guide him through as to how to place the vent and realized that he had never done these before and his handiwork was sloppy. He installed a dryer vent and taped it in the gap between the rafters and said that the kitchen gases will leave the attic through the soffit and he doesnt need to open the wall or the roof.He had made dirt marks on the ceiling and broke the cabinet trim during the work. The vent came loose that night. He said he will take care of everything the next time. 3 weeks later, the next time never came. He had conned another family as well. *********************************************************** He has his wife post postive comments about him and we got conned. We got another contractor come in to rectify some parts of the job.
