I ordered a re manufactured ecm for a truck and sent them my core and they sent me a defective ecm that didn't work. I sent it back and they sent the same defective unit back to me this happened 3 times. before I sent their defective ecm, I marked it because I told them I wanted a different ecm but all they did was repaint it and send it back to me. they are now ignoring my calls, texts and emails. I want a refund and my original core sent back to me. the company goes under the name "Diesel ECM Exchange" but it's the same address and same people. My first contact with this business was October 31 2024. i did a internet search and found that I was not the only person they have done is too. This has been going on almost 6 months I want a full refund and my core back.Business Response

On or about October 20 2024 I sent a *** out of 2008 ***** 4500 to be fixed on or about October 24th the business contacted me that they could not repair it but I could buy a rebuilt one so I said ok the total price was $1595.00. They sent me a rebuilt *** I could not get it to work so I sent it back they sent another *** I took truck to ***** truck dealership in ******* in.they could not get the 2nd one to work in truck so we sent that one back they sent 3rd *** to us and took it to dealer and they still could not get it to work. All this took from October 2024 till March 2025. In March 2025 ordered rebuilt *** from another company and it worked did nothing different to truck just put *** in and truck started without doing anything else to truck.Would not start with the *** from diesel EMC exchange. Called them 3 day's in row before they answered phone explained everything to them they said we are not giving refund for ***. I purchased a computer for a 2005 dodge caravan on March 3rd.I was told I shoyld receive it 5 to 7 days.On day 5 i called to see if it had been shipped. I was then told that they were having trouble to programming one and i would have to wait.I called back and told them that i couldn't wait that i had another option to get one and i would like a refund.I was emailed that if i haven't received a refund within 11 days to contact the billing department. This is to many obstacles in my opinion for $218. They took my money in literally seconds, but i have to wait this long for a supposed refund?This is bad business from the start. On Oct. 13th, 2024 I bought a computer for a 2007 **** Ranger for the sum of $329.95 order no. 241013-064258-3142 charged to an **************** card. I received the computer three weeks after ordering and sent my old computer back to Car Computer Exchange within the 7 days required or you will be charged a $125 core charge and the lifetime warranty is voided. The computer they sent did not work, I then called technical support and they emailed me instructions on how to return the computer for replacement and I returned the computer to them on Nov.26,2024. Abought three weeks later I was finally able to get through to someone in technical support after calling 4 to 5 times a day for a week and they said the computer was deemed un repairable and they waiting on a core and to call back next week. After another 2 weeks of calling I was told they could not get a core and they were sending the account over to billing for a refund. After not receiving a refund I emailed Car Computer Exchange on Jan 20, 2025 and they responded with an apology and said they resubmit my account for refund and please give it a few more days. I emailed them again on Feb 14th, 2025 and I have not got any response or refund. I would like my refund because I bought a computer elsewhere ,they have got my old computer and I received nothing for my $329.95.Business Response

I ordered an Engine Control Module (ECM) for a 2013 ******************* home on 10/29/24 for $1,895.00. I received it about the first week of November and was able to install it the next week. It didnt work so I called them about it. They said I needed to get the fault codes read. That took about 2 weeks and I found out that the *** wasnt properly programmed to the vin# as promised. I called back the first week of January to ask why and got the very strange answer that the engine was installed after the ** was built. (Not correct per Tiffin). Very mean response at this point in time so I told them that I would take the *** to the International Dealership to have them program it. This took about 3 weeks due to International Dealership having tried to program it multiple times. They finally said they could not program it. I then called Diesel ECM Exchange on 2/11/25 and they said to send it back for a refund and they would send back my old core **** I thought the problem with Diesel ECM Exchange was resolved. The problem *** was sent back on 2/20/25 by **** I called Diesel ECM Exchange on 2/25/25 to verify that the *** was being sent back for a refund and was told by a supervisor that they werent going to refund anything because of the 60 day limit. When I informed him that I was told to send it back for a refund by his agent on 2/11/25, he exploded and started yelling. I also informed him that the agent had told me the the call was recorded and he should at least hear the conversation. He said he didnt have time to listen to any call and hung up. So, they have my old ECM and they have my $1895.00 ECM and they dont answer any calls or respond to my emails. I have attached a screen shot of the email from International that they couldnt program the **** the original order, the return receipt and a screen shot of the code reader showing the wrong vin# on the **** I would like my old ECM back with a refund of $1895.00 as promised on 2/11/25.Business Response

On 4/25/2024 I purchased a car computer from this business for $219.90. Received the computer and took to my local **** dealership for installation. The dealership followed all of their pre-installation check list, but the unit did not work properly. In June, 2024 I returned the unit to them.On 7/12/2024 I received an email from the company saying that my refund was attempted but declined by my credit card company. I contacted my credit card company. They looked into it. There was no attempt made on my account. The only problem they could determine was that my credit card had been renewed since I made the purchase. My account number was the same, but the expiration date was different.I asked Car Computer Exchange if they could process the refund again with the new expiration date, but they would not. They did offer the option to process the refund through *******On 11/15/2024, after I reactivated my ****** account, I contacted them, gave them my ****** information, and asked them to process my refund through my ****** account.On 11/15/2024 I received an email from Car Computer Exchange saying that they would resubmit my account for a refund and to give it a few more days.On 01/28/2025 I wrote to them again because I still had not received my refund. I also included a screenshot from my ****** account.On 01/30/2025 I received an email from them saying my ****** account had been refunded. It had not.On 02/03/2025 I wrote to them again and included a screenshot, again, of my ****** account to let them know that I still had not received my refund. As of today I have received no further communication from them, nor have I received my refund.The only supporting document I have is an e-mail chain. Ordered a computer for my 2005 Dodge Ram SLT received a unit and installed per instructions, the unit would not allow my car to go into gear showing code P1603 Dual-port RAM failure. Called and emailed about the problem and waited days for a response. Authorized a return so I send the unit back for replacement (among with my core to save on shipping). Waited more than two weeks for the replacement unit. Looked identical to the one I shipped back (complete with the same paint runs and smell of spray paint permeating the box where they had "refinished" it.) sure enough, same code. *************** Manual has exactly two culprits for this code: the harness and the unit. Well, the harness was new OEM. I even changed out the ignition switch as an added measure just in case it was sending a short before installing the new unit. Called them back and they authorized a return, so long as I paid shipping. Returned the item and now have waited more than two weeks for my refund to be approved and my core unit still has not been returned. This entire process has taken more than six weeks using this company.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:Car Computer Exchange refunded less than half of my money ($162 versus $332) citing their "refund policy," but offering no explanation as to the reason why. The original computer I purchased was faulty, the replacement computer was faulty, and twice I waited over the 7-10 business day window I was told within the same order. All told the entire process ook more than six weeks. Meanwhile I was forced to buy a computer from another company, which worked perfectly right out of the box.
They also did not send my return unit until after I threatened to press charges. Car Computer Exchange are thieves. Simple as that.
