Southern States Hyundai on Wake Forest Rd-These people are completely shady! I took my daughters 2013 Hyundai Elantra in for a few issues to be diagnosed. They charged me $234.13 to diagnose 3 issues, which seems to be in the range of what others quoted to run a diagnostic on the vehicle. One of the issues I had was that water got into the rear passenger taillight assembly and now the turn signal will not work. They called to tell me that I needed a new brake lamp switch because mine was "inoperable". In addition, they told me that all 3 of my brake lights were out as well and I couldn't just replace the bulbs because they would continue to blow due to the brake lamp switch. They quoted me $284.58 to replace the brake lamp switch and 5 back lights. I declined the repair because I always like to investigate their findings first before paying for a repair. When I picked up the car, not one rear light worked, no brake lights, turn signals, nothing. Keep in mind when I dropped it off, I only had one bad turn light. After looking up the brake stop switch and finding it was a $10-$20 part I went to ******* to see if I could change it myself and it looked like I could. The how to video I watched suggested checking the fuses first to make sure they were all good. So, my husband and I did, and they were all fine. However, after looking closer, my husband realized 3 of the fuses were in the wrong place. He put them back in the correct place and guess what? All of our back lights worked again except the original turn light I went in for! This was not an accident to move 3 fuses, 2 of which had nothing to do with the rear lights. When I questioned the fact that all of my other lights worked when I dropped it off the service advisor just said he can't tell me what the mechanic did just what he said the car needs. When I called back the next morning to complain about the fact that they messed up my lights, all he could say was, "I don't know what our mechanic did or didn't do".
