This complaint is being filed for unauthorized excessive approach to work performed, resulting in excessive billing of $3,720.79. I was also misled in that I thought I was hiring a licensed contractor. The contractor is licensed but sent workers who had no prior work experience in the type of work to be performed, as admitted by employee, *******, during the third visit to make corrections to faulty work, when he expressed his personal frustration to me. Multiple errors were made. The company had to come back multiple times to correct mistakes and in the process took advantage, using what was a minor change order, according to another larger landscape company, and billed that change for more than the original bid of the entire job, resulting in an over charge of $1,634.63. The total cost billed to me was more than double the agreed-upon bid. I tried to resolve over the phone but Mr. ***** became verbally abusive, so I sent a letter of documentation to him with a check in the amount of $2,086.16 for the total bid amount, which also included an additional $486.16 for materials and labor for the change order, for which the larger company quoted $300.00. I received a voice mail message on today's date from Mr. ***** stating he had received my letter, that the payment was unacceptable, and he would take further action if I did not remit the entire amount in five days. I have included as attachments my letter to Mr. ***** and the bid from the other, larger landscape company.
