I lived at the CandlePark property on South 15th Street for over 10 years. During that time, the property management changed many times but because I was a dependable and stable tenant who always paid my rent on time, I really didn't have to deal with the office very often. As well, the property company did almost no routine maintenance on the unit during the decade I lived there - no painting, no flooring replacement, no appliance repair or replacement. I basically cost them nothing while they made money off of me. When I moved out after 10 years, not only did the property company keep my deposit and the interest they'd earned on it, they billed me an additional amount. I asked for a breakdown of what my deposit had been spent on and why they were billing yet more money, and they sent a list of things that anyone would consider basic maintenance - the kinds of normal wear-and-tear things that any property company would expect to do after a person had lived in a property for a decade. For example, they billed me $75 to replace a metal mini blind. When I questioned them, they threatened to turn the account over to collections. Mind you, the amount that would have gone to collections was less than $100 and they already had over $1000 in my deposit. This is a company that does as little maintenance as possible while you live at the place and then tries to shake you down for more when you move out. As other reviewers have noted, the management behaves like jerks. Don't think this place will treat you nicely - they won't.
