Damaged broken items. No mentioned of any damage in the listing. The back of the clock is broken and it only has one hand. The lamp has scratches on the shade. The basket one handle is broken. I have been buying items from Hibid for several months. I have become aware of a seller on the site called Vail International. They constantly post counterfeit items like graded and raw pokemon and sports cards, graded currency, booster boxes, etc. I called Hibid to inform them if this and how the seller (Vail International) is well known for selling fake/counterfeit items but they continue to allow them to list these items. Hibid does not seem to care that they have a seller selling items that are fake and ripping off customers.Business Response

I have been buying a lot of stuff on HIBID from different auctions. The platform works great, but they need to monitor their Auction dealers better. Encore Auctions in London Ontario is ripping people off daily. Yesterday was what put me over the top. I bid on stuff, I requested a quote but it was too high, but then they sent it anyway and charged my credit card for it. When it got here, (one item was smashed in hundreds of pieces so I did not accept it.) After the driver left, I opened the other boxes. Two items were different than what I bid on, one was only one piece of a two piece item that I bid on..this just adds to the multiple complaints that I am already trying to deal with. They have 0 customer service and lie when it is convenient to them. They sell garbage using actual pictures. They do not cross out original customer return label. It might not be Hibid directly selling the items, but in order to line their pockets with profits, they are ALLOWING this auction house to continue to sell GARBAGE. Never again will I buy from them and my use of Hibid will be limited as the experience is not what it should be. Until Encore Auctions is removed from their platform, I'm done. All I want is a fair experience. Even if the item is used, I have no issue, their items are JUNK, nothing more. 8 out 10 items received from them are worth nothing, are broken, not the same as advertised or have just been thrown in the trash. :( VERY BAD for your reputation Hibid. I just want my money back or the items that I saw and paid for. All the other auction houses do it...or at least show the actual box so we can determine how badly it could be on the inside. MAKE THEM CHANGE!!! or get OFF your platform. This is on Hibid because they know and they do nothing to change it. I'm not done with this. I will report them as Fraud to the RCMP if nothing is done. Hello. Like you mentioned in your complaint, HiBid is only the platform that sellers use, we don't actually have the inventory or get involved in your transaction. In regards to your complaint about a seller using our platform and software, we reached out to them to get more information. This seller has informed us that they do work with buyers when items received are incorrect or there are other issues not related to the general condition. We would encourage you to continue to work with their customer support team in efforts to find a resolution.
Looking at their terms and conditions, they do specify that these are not always new and working items. In their Auction Details, they do list that these items they are selling are "Returned Merchandise" items. These items are not inspected, they are returned from large box stores and resold. Being returned items some of these can have minimal use. They do not open the boxes and take actual photos, which is why they use the stock images.
We are sorry to hear your experience with this seller was not what you had hoped for. This can be part of the risk in buying uninspected items at auction. We would suggest participating in future auctions that are not for items that haven't been fully inspected, are new, or you are able to preview in advance. There are many great items that fit this category.

I have bought from several auctions who use hibid and they are all "returned merchandise" and have never had an issue. Every other auction identifies the items as "used like new"; "may be used"; "used heavily"; or "new". They always have an image of the actual item so you know what you are buying and/or how badly the items "might" be damaged as per the condition of the box. Just because it is returned merchandise does not mean it is damaged beyond use. There are a lot of reasons. It could have been because the seller never picked it up, maybe it got lost in transit so they bought another one and then this one came in. But if I see an item advertised for example. "PetSafe Scoop Free cat litter", and when I open the box it is a shirt!!!, then the seller is responsible no matter which way you look at it. and for you to allow this merchant to rip people off because you don't want to monitor them does not say much about your company either.
I didn't think you would help me, but if you monitor your companies, even just through BBB, you would see that this auction house only cares about themselves and only after putting in complaints with BBB and reversing the charges through my credit card did they even attempt at resolving this. I heard from our local auction that you are not exactly cheap to use either so if you are making money from their scams, that makes you a part of the scam, like it or not.

AUCTION TIME facilitates brokers to commit acts of fraud which is what took place to us, On AUCTION TIME site truck in question was advertised “ Great Running truck, NO KNOWN ISSUES, READY TO WORK!” All statements where grossly lies and false to pretense, ALL STATEMENTS ARE CAUSE OF INJURY and will continue to be injury, totaling ten thousand plus in damages, totaling sixteen thousand in potential lost wages, all because of false advertising and misleading information disclosed through their governing platform, I made request for sellers account to be suspended due to the committed fraud and AUCTION TIME will not do so. Further more Auction time continues to make whatever irrelevant response like I imagine I will get here but facts are facts, also with Auction Times continued abilities to govern and facilitate fraud and continued pattern of allowing brokers to mislead and commit fraud violates RICO white collar crime to continue to scheme off hard working consumers only to leave consumers holding the junk and damages and lost, the brokers and Auction time facilitating their behavior will continue to cause damages to our states as Auction time and their brokers are doing this all across the country. Auction time will not hold their broker responsible and continues to let them practice fraud under the protection of their platform which they will reply that they have nothing to do with the broker but Auction Time has the ability to stop the broker! With Auction Times lack of concern and ability to hold them self to a higher moral and honest business tells me they are condoning these behaviors and are just as accountable, no matter if they say there not involved they have to be profiting in some stand point so just as guilty. Our company is aware of your attempts to circumvent the system and attempt to create multiple accounts after you were initially banned due to multiple violations of our terms & conditions. Furthermore, you have continuously harassed our customer service representatives to the point of no return. You are now filing a BBB complaint under a false name with an email that ties you back to the original account in our system.
As has been communicated to you MULTIPLE TIMES, we are not a part of the transaction and your invoices all have to do with the auctioneer. We urge you to contact them with any issues you pay have.
You have been permanently banned from the platform and we are unable to provide you with any type of refund, recourse or communication.

AuctionTime is a fraud and I will continue to reach out to authorities including representatives of congress and make them aware of the fraudulent behaviors of this platform and their abuse to commit fraud an continue to gain from others misfortune caused by their platform and allowing for this action and behavior of fraud to be committed, as expected Auction Time gave a weak Response and an attempt to discredit someone else, I hope one day a Civil class action comes against AuctionTime and this will be my proof of their weak allegations and weak response and as you can see they did not have a concern for our damages and losses. COME ON PUBLIC READ AND DO NOT USE THEIR PLATFORM.

I purchased 500 $2 dollar bills in lucite. I also purchased a block of 1969 $1 dollar bills in lucite. I broke the lucite away and there was two one dollar bills rest is colored paper. I never touched the block of $2 bills but pretty sure there fake alsoBusiness Response

I understand what they are saying, but seller and contact information is not provided on every item.
I believe Vail International Inc should be culpable to the buyers to make sure item are as advertised. The product I bought was presented as a stack of 1969 b dollar bills in lucite, I broke away the lucite and there was 2 dollar bills.
I also bought a brick of 500 $2 dollar bills that I havent touched because I think this ìs another scam.

I spent a lot of money in the last at auctions under the hi-bid name different states paid huge buyers premiums and said never complained, now that I know there is no recourse, I will stop today and spread the word! ***** ********
