For most items Firstmark works great for payments and history. Where they started to make me suspicious is when I tried to apply for a cosigner release. I was quickly denied due to not meeting the 36 on time payments. I only had 35 of the 36 but that was due to only having the account open for 35 months. Firstmark then told me I was going to have to wait a year to apply again for a cosigner release even though I met all the other criteria, at this time meeting the 36 on time payments. which I found suspicious. I then called Citizens and their rep told me completely different information, the application was on the way for cosigner release and that Firstmark had wrong info. It seems as though Firstmark is making things difficult for borrowers to make changes to their loan. Once this loan is done with, I will never use them again. ALWAYS CONFORM THE INFO COMING OUT OF FIRSTMARK.

My student loans got handed to them by Wells Fargo - I would never go to Firstmark by choice. The employees are all incompetent and half of them talk to you like they despise their job. Representatives talk back to you, speak over you, disrespect and harass you with daily phone calls that will never stop. They are careless with your account and will make monthly mistakes you’d have to call in to fix. Your interest rate will be impossible to pay off. Management is the only good thing they have and even they agree their employees are dimwits. I’ve never had a positive experience with this company. I would cut my left leg off to never have to deal with them again. Easily the WORST company I have ever dealt with. I would renounce my college degree if it meant I never had to deal with these folks again - I never write reviews…..but I couldn’t let anyone else go through the BS the rest of us have been going through with Firstmark Service Thieves.

Horrible company. Was forced into using them when they took over student loans from First Republic. Not helpful at all and very difficult to deal with.

Very difficult to get customer service, no notifications on when payments are due, and they changed payments from every 3 months to a “Grace period” of every month without notice. I don’t think the customer service rep knows the definition of “Grace period” because he kept using it wrong . A bad experience overall. I would not use them again

This company has been extremely difficult to deal with since they took over my son's loan. You cannot count on auto debit and you cannot set the date to sooner if you have been making extra payments and the dashboard gives misinformation, on one page it says one date but on the auto debit it says another. I have spent hours on the phone with them! When they did attempt to assist they took a payment and made it retroactive to payments missed (because of the auto pay date set to three months ahead even though the main page said the next month) but I have no record of it on the dashboard on their website, I requested a print out and I was told they couldn't print special reports. I requested a screen capture of my account information as they could see it on their end but I was told they couldn't do that, I call BS! I can request that information from my bank regarding my mortgage. Paying this off with my line of credit just to be done with them! Terrible company practices!!

Worst company I have ever dealt with. Many billing errors on their end, no accountability (requested itemized transactions and paper bills and was denied, told I was paid off twice after making "final payments," and they keep coming back saying I owe thousands more (with zero proof, even after requesting), charging me interest when they do this (told me i was paid off in July, paid in full letter in November, you owe $1100 more letter in January, plus interest from July when we told you you were paid off), have called MANYYY times and get different answers from every person and no one can figure out why they keep telling me I'm paid off and then owe thousands more. I have never felt more scammed in my life and reading these other reviews was SO validating because they obviously are doing these same things to others. How do I make this end??

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! This company is deceitful towards its borrowers and I'm not sure how they have not been sued. If you try to make an additional payment towards your loan during the month to try and pay down your principal, they DO NOT tell you anywhere in the payment form that your payment does NOT actually all go towards principal and instead some of it will go towards interest as well. On the payment form it will show you that your interest and fees are $0, but it is not until AFTER the payment is made that you will see only a portion of your payment went towards the principal and another portion went towards interest. I'm not talking about your regular monthly payment. This is in ADDITION to your monthly payments during the month. They will do anything they can to try and get extra money from you including showing you that your accrued interest is $0 then secretly taking interest after the payment is made and there is no way to cancel it. How that is legal is beyond me. When you make a payment, they will not show you what your payment is going towards until after it is made. I did not have a choice when my loan was sold to this awful company. Already looking for other options to get this loan out of this company asap. There is a reason this company only has 1.5 stars on google, and I don't think many of us choose to have our loans involuntarily sent here, and there is a reason for that. NO ONE would use them if it was by choice and they wouldn't be in business if it was.

The worst business I have ever worked with. None of the employees are on the same page. They just want to take your money and have you get out of their hair. I have had different agents tell me multiple things for my student loan and the next person tells me they don’t know why someone told me to do that. They have dinged my credit multiple times and then realized they messed. The supervisors don’t even know what to do. I feel like I am getting scammed by them. They bought my student loan from Wells Fargo and are killing me with payments! I don’t know who they think they are but they think a college graduate can pay their se insane prices. They should be shut down because I know they are not following proper codes.
