Bait-and-switch Mutual of Omaha did a bait-and-switch routine on me when I was looking to purchase Long-Term Care Insurance. I had an initial quote that was reasonable and then they cited a very minor medical condition that up to 85% of the population has to force me into a “select” plan which is much more expensive. Don’t waste your time with this company and read some of the other nightmare stories below.

Terrible. I received a letter telling me I needed to pay a different amount so I called and the agent told me that it was a mistake and I didn’t need to make an extra payment that all I needed to do was increase my monthly payment and all would be fine. Left me without life insurance and they won’t correct their mistake . Dishonest and won’t accept responsibility on their end. Don’t trust them at all. Phone recordings and records support me the client but they refuse to change their decision.

Mutual of Omaha is awful they lied to me and sent their appraiser who valued my house much lower than what it's worth on the tax roll now I'm out his fee $$ And the fee for the notary, they have no respect or ethical practices , these companies want your homes at their price they are liars and scammers. Too bad they don't have a zero star rating.

I purchased an Insurance Policy with Mutual of Omaha in December 2022. They required an automatic payment setup with my Bank Account. I set up the payments as requested. Mutual of Omaha then took payments for December, January and February but in the middle of the month. I called and requested that payments be made at the beginning of the month. Mutual of Omaha said this was not a problem and would change the billing date. I recently noticed that there have been no withdrawals from my account since February. It's the automatic payment they insisted on, so I saw no need to constantly check it. I contacted Mutual of Omaha about the lack of withdrawals. I was told that when they attempted to change the billing date, they made a mistake and stopped all payments. They then cancelled my Policy for non-payment. Mutual of Omaha NEVER contacted me to inform me there was a problem. I never received a Phone Call, never got a Text Message, never received an E-Mail nor had any notice sent to me by USPS. They just cancelled a policy and let me believe I still had coverage. I asked them to reinstate my Policy since this was an error on their part and they refused and told me I had to start the process all over again. AVOID DOING ANY BUSINESS WITH MUTUAL OF OMAHA! If I had read the other complaints first, I never would have used them to begin with, Lesson learned, always check the reviews. There is something seriously wrong with this company. If they can't address a simple billing request and mess up so badly that they cancel your Policy, then not even bother to inform you... can they be trusted to actually PAY OUT on a Policy??? Given how they do business I wouldn't trust them to. Can your loved ones afford to have them mess up and not cover you??? There are many other Insurance Companies out there. Do yourself a favor and seek out a better one. A Company that is reputable, doesn't royally screw up and has better reviews. Mutual of Omaha is a joke.

I purchased the subject policy in the amount $100,000 from your contractor/employee. In reviewing the most recent illustrations, I now understand that after paying on time for 13 or so years, the initial monthly premium in the amount of $376.76 is scheduled to escalate to $635.00 later this year followed by an increase to $750.00. At the time of the purchase, I was not feeling well and your Associate assured me and my wife that so long as I paid the monthly premium of $376.76, the policy would continue in effect until my demise. In my opinion, the prospective increases are a gross misrepresentation. The application that I signed was for a monthly premium of $335.00 (see Attachment 1) and I never had an explanation as to the higher monthly figure being $367.76. I would appreciate an explanation. In Attachment 2, Producer Statement 1., the information called for on the blank line was not completed; kindly provide the missing information. In connection with 2, which policy or policy(s) were replaced? Section 3., I did not receive any of the 3 items. If I had received the information called for, I may not have purchased the contract. I want to reimbursed by the company for their misrepresentations.

I bought the cancer policy for my husband because there is history in the family. My husband ended up being diagnosed after. We were sure that this would be a supplement for some of the medical bills as stated. They sent us a letter after claims were filed and my husband had surgery. Only to inform us the policy was being cancelled and all preminums i had paid would be refunded. This is heartbreaking as i trusted this company would pay. Do not they lie

Horrific. they take advantage of disabled people; watch out if you are a vet. their team is young unsympothetic with 0 empahy they are so nice at first till they get you then they ignore you and treat you very badly especially if you are disabled DO NOT GO TO THIS COMPANY IF YOU ARE A DISABLED VET THEY DO NOT UNDERSTAND - a bunch of 20 somethings with ? no empathy. The only reason they have five stars is because they hired a company to make that happen. Some of us are not STUPID! Cannot Understand Normal Thingking!

Don't trust Mutual of Omaha to be there when you need them. My husband purchased a small life insurance policy and was upfront with them that he had a previous heart attack, hence the small, term policy. He also got an accidental death rider on his policy. He was killed in an accident at work 6 months later. Mutual of Omaha cancelled the life policy saying he hadn't told them about his heart (he had) and refused to pay anything even though his death had nothing to do with his heart. It was a way to not pay. By cancelling the life policy, they cancelled the accidental death rider. Yeah. Not a fan.

Only one star cause there’s no option for negative zero. Awful company to ever trust a loved ones life insurance with. As a new policy holder we went in hoping for the best and ease. Once the policy was set with an initial date of payment that would occur monthly. I was assured it was okay to make the first payment early. After making the first payment the company went into my account to access more funds. I spoke with both my bank and the company to have the issue resolved. My bank was understanding the company was more than awful. Customer service had a nasty attitude and even said “well you took it upon yourself to go in a make a payment” I was then transferred to supervisor who picked up and immediately tried to sale me a policy. After explaining the problem he assured me that the second withdrawal attempt should not have happened. Once the conversation was over I was hopeful it was resolved. Later that night the company went into my account again understanding that today is May 24 and my billing date is set up for the 25th of each month. Aside from that I’ve already payed this month in advance only to have the company go into my account twice trying to take a second payment for the month. I finally called to cancel the policy only to be told that it was a banking error. The representative was very rude and was speaking over me not allowing me to speak. I was assured that there was no corporate number and that he was in fact a part of corporate. After calling again to gain access to corporate a representative answered, on speaker sounding like she was at home in the bathroom. We asked if she was corporate she paused, sounded as though she was busy and then gave out a slow and elongated no. Worse experience ever lesson learned just personally save your money in general at least you’ll know you can trust the funds to be there when needed.
