We Tried to hire this company to do some projects on our home almost a year ago now. We chased and communicated with the owner on and off for almost a year with constant excuses and promises of calling me back, sending plans, moving us up on the list of jobs, being told we're next because they are finishing up a home build, sending a contract we never got, the weather, a death in the family, been sick, was in a car accident, been out of town. You name it, we've heard it all and been patient through it all with absolutely no movement or results regarding our project plans. All we have received is a lot of excuses. I would be extremely nervous and hesitant about hiring this company to do a home build because it will probably take an astronomically long time to build with all the excuses you will get. They came highly recommended by a close friend that I trusted would not hook me up with a shady contractor or builder. Now I'm wondering how her home actually got completed and why she thought he was so great. If you're looking for a dependable, reliable, home builder or contractor that will keep his word, be diligent about servicing your project, then keep looking as this is NOT the company for you. I'm extremely Disappointed and Angered at the way this builder/ contractor has wasted our time. A customer shouldn't have to chase a builder or contractor down to do work for you, especially if your money is good.

I would like to start off with expressing sincere apologies to these clients. They are lovely people and I truly feel bad that I was unable to accommodate them as they needed. I would like to clarify a little bit more on exactly how we got here though as there is always two sides to every story. These clients are in need of some custom designs and remodeling with their existing home, which isn't something we usually do at Urban Spark Construction as we are a custom home building company. However, they were revered to me by a client that I have utmost respect for and was happy to take a look at their project for them since I was referred to them. Following our initial meeting I informed them that my current work load was extremely heightened at the time with active home builds but if they were willing to wait till things slowed down, I would be happy to help them. That being said, it is 100% appropriate for the clients to be frustrated as that work load didn't decrease as quickly as I had initially projected. These "excuses" they are referencing was that my disabled father (who I cared for and had living with me the last 15 years) became ill. Over this period he was in and out of the emergency room, intensive care, and the rehabilitation center. This was an unpredictable event and did consume a lot of time that only made it difficult to get my existing projects completed in my timeline I had initially projected to be able to help them. I did reach out to them and informed them of my "excuses" and told them that I didn't know when I would be able to get to their project with everything going on in my personal life, but that I would be happy to set them up with some of my trusted subs to take on their project, but they insisted on waiting for me. Not long after that the "excuse of a death in the family" they referenced did occur, my father ended up passing, and considering he was one of the most important people in my life, I didn't take it easily. During this period, I took on no new clients or projects. Following him passing I completed the remaining active project and informed everyone that I was going to need to take some time off. Now that being said I completely understand their frustration, and I will 100% accept the poor review, even though it has no reflection of my work, and is only a reflection of how I struggled to handle logistical issues during a rough time in my life. Honestly this review does upset me in the manner at how that they reference my "death in the family" as an "excuse" almost in a manner as though it's not a big deal, but how could they possibly know how much he meant to me. Regardless I am deeply apologetic to them and hope down the road they are able find a level of understanding and compassion. I am also deeply apologetic to my clients that referred me as I have obviously put them in a bad position, and I hate feeling like I let them down as well.
