This one man show is a scam artist. He complains that he has pay workmans comp in one sentence then the next he says he works alone. He is not a man of his word. I contacted him to do some chimney repair after he responded to my info request on the HIllsboro NH ******** page. He came out and was very friendly. He went up on the roof and inspected my chimney and came up with a plan. I didnt have the money he requested to do the work at the time he was here as it was just exploratory. I did contact other individuals for the job and he was not the least expensive. 2 weeks went by and he contacted me about doing the chimney and he lowered the price even more. To me it sounded like a great deal. He arrived within 30 minutes to pick up a 50% deposit ($1500). When he was here I asked when he could start and it wasn't for a couple weeks because next week he was going on vacation. I said ok and wrote him a check. After he left I started digging into his reviews and I found a significant negative one on the BBB website. Then I got to thinking about how this all came about and his insistence that he needed the deposit right away. The more I thought about and the more i read the more uncomfortable I became with this guy. 1:30 am I wake and attempt to cancel the check, but I was too late. I sent him text and messages via messenger and he responded that he was willing to refund me. Its been over a month and no refund, he has continually made excuses as to why he isn't paying me. Then on August 27, 2024 he shows up at my house with a check (after I requested cash), I took it to this bank the next morning only to find insufficient funds. I attempted this 2 more times in subsequent days only to be thwarted. I have filed a complaint with the police and will follow up with legal action.
