Awful group, very predatory. Have a mortgage with them. My house burned down and was told repeatedly the only option was resolving the mortgage and taking a new loan at a much higher rate. This was from ********* ********, telling her subordinates.Upon escalating the issue I got more options which is basically giving them money to do with what they want until needed to rebuild my house. *********** and ****** organization. I will be withdrawing all finances with them and moving them elsewhere.Service Credit Union

1 starOverseas Service members beware: SCU absolutely GOUGES you (this is the ** version of what they do) on exchange rates. They take several % off the top for themselves every time you convert Dollars to Euro or vice versa - which can add up to **literally thousands** of dollars during a 3-year assignment in ******. Of course, every financial institution takes a small percentage from currency exchanges, but with SCU it's SO much worse than normal. For example, if you spend 3000 Euro/month (rent, utilites, Euro ATM withdrawals) and SCU takes 2%, that's 60 Euro per month = 720 per year = 2160 Euro during a 3-year assignment!THE GOOD NEWS: Money transfer services/apps (e.g., Wise) let you pay all your Euro bills using the actual (direct) exchange rate, so Service members can keep their normal US bank, and are no longer stuck using SCU (nor the other popular bank for Service members).Review fromChristopher D

The absolute worst "bank" I've ever dealt with in my life. I got an account with a ********************************************* thinking that they wete customer first orientated. I was far beyond wrong. I've never had so much money taken from me in my life for the worst reasons imaginable. Not only that, I've NEVER had any bank put a hold on my checks. People are barely surviving as it is and you're going to play with their money like this?? Get your heads out of your a**Service Credit Union

I applied to refinance my auto loan. The company send over an approval letter that I couldnt open or view online. I asked for said document another way so I can see what was approved and all the numbers. I have asked about 5 times for that. Yesterday I responded in writing that Im thinking about using another company instead since repeatedly the document has not been provided when asked. Today I got a response with loan documents to sign. Literally nobody has read my emails or responded appropriately. How can I trust this company if they cant perform a simple task and provide loan approval documents for me to have and review????Service Credit Union

Starting Sept ******* I have not been able to sign into my account without calling for an access code. I never had to do this before now and find it is a hassle. I know they claim to have updated their security but has become a not user-friendly company, Also I have been in touch with their fraud department is as useless as the IT ***** All I want is to be able to check my balances and pay my bills that are due. Will someone please rectify this problem or go back to the former system which is more user friendlyService Credit Union

1 starService Credit Union was offering a $500 bonus to open a checking account with them and deposit net payroll deposits of at least $1500 a month to receive the bonus. I had been following these requirements for 2 months and called to check in to see if I was on track to receive the bonus and when I might get it. After speaking to an associate on the phone she stated I was on track and would receive the bonus within 90 days on completing the 90 days of direct deposits. A few days later I receive an email from them stating I was not eligible for the bonus because I had been depositing allotments and not net pay from my direct deposit. No where in the offer did it specify that the net pay could not be an allotment. I even asked if I could deposit my full paycheck every month and they denied the request. After 10 years of being a member, I have decided to close my account after multiple charges have tried to clear through my savings account that I am not sure how the company received access in the first place.I reached out to SCU the first time it happened and let them know I never use this bank account anymore as I have a joint account with my husband and requested they no longer allow payments from this said company to pull from my savings as I do NOT use or monitor it very often. I was negative due to it giving me NSF fee's the first time this happened they waived the fees and blocked the company (or so they said).It has now happened again 3 more times, I reached out again expressing my concerns that their stop payments are not working and coming through and did not work and had $60 worth of fees for charges that wouldn't clear and they now refuse to reverse these fees and told me to put in a dispute? So I am disputing what charges? The $19 NSF fee YOUR company charged me? LOL I am just so sick of not being able to trust this credit union over the last few months it has truly went down hill and wish it did not have to come to this but I no longer feel comfortable with this company and advise all to watch out.Service Credit Union

I would give this bank a 0! I have deposited my check on my mobile banking app and they decided to hold all of the funds and the team that does the reviewing is out till Monday! Mind you i have deposited this same kind of check almost weekly! It's in possible to reach anyone at the bank itself! I will be changing banks and will not be recommending this bank to anyone else!Service Credit Union

We're sorry for the inconvenience you experienced. Our mobile deposit terms outline that deposits received after 4:30 PM EST post the following business day. Saturday, Sunday, and federal holidays are not business days therefore deposits made after 4:30 PM EST on Friday will not post to the account until the next business day and once posted will have any applicable check holds applied. Alternatively, you can also make check deposits at any Service Credit Union branch location or ATM. Please review your Account Agreement and Disclosure brochure for the cut-off times and Funds Availability Disclosure for deposits made through those channels. I had money fraudulent withdrawn from an account out of state. I was told I was getting a call from the security fraud department. Nobody called me now I have to sit here and wait for a whole three days until someone can help me with the provisional credit because now I can’t pay my rent or my child support or my medical bills because service credit union nobody called me. I’ve had this account for 17 years when I join in the military and now I have a deposit going in every month and I’ve been doing that forever and now some reason they just decided to not give me a call back. The manager on the phone told me that they have so many people calling that it comes in as the orders received, even though the person who originally took my complaint and my dispute, told me someone would call me by the end of next business day. I had a literally wait until the end of the day to call somebody because I was trying to be patient and let them do their job but nope nobody called me now I have to wait until Monday. This is the most ridiculous process for a banking company that I’ve ever come across they’ve literally just pushed my account to the side after $3000 was taken out of my account from another state fraudulently. Aside from that they are completely outdated and their application causes problems every month. I am done with this bank now I have to wait till Monday to even get a call back about my money that’s missing.Service Credit Union
