I purchased a 2022 Taos on 11/15/22 with 7,204 miles which was used for their loaners I was told. I always like to buy local and I was told free Lifetime oil changes and lifetime engine and transmission warranty which led to me purchasing it. On 12/6/23 I brought it back to VW of Freehold that the coolant level notification came on several times. They made several appointments to verify the issue and pressure test was done. It revealed that the cylinder head gasket was the problem, that it had to be replaced, and the parts for it were not available due to the Pandemic ongoing problems. (supply chain issues) They kept making appts and canceling when I arrived at least 3 times & only one mechanic that could do the job . The Service Manager Chris L******* kept telling me it is not harming anything on the vehicle and not to worry as it is in the computer and it is well documented and the mileage not an issue. March 23, 24 the mileage was 42,85l where the note indicates coolant issue which was still under the 50,000 mile warranty. On Oct 9, 2024 I started calling them that the 50k warranty was looming and I was calling for a few days with nobody answering the phones in any department. I finally took a ride there only to find the place completely empty of cars or people. I went to World VW in Neptune to see if they could help. They said there were no notes in the system that they could access. I have had new cars all my life and any dealership should be able to see the cars history. They had to do their own test and the diagnosis was the same. They said the job is around $3,600 and could not warranty it because there is no repair order in the system. I have several R/O's indicating the coolant issue and am shocked VW Corporate won't authorize repair. I am a senior citizen with a sick husband that has to work and can't afford that type of repair and who really knows what the leaking anti freeze harmed all this time and the added cost of oil changes now.Initial Complaint

I purchased a 2020 Honda Pilot from Volkswagon of Freehold on September 19, 2023, and unfortunately, it has been a terrible experience. I dealt with two salesmen, and the process was anything but transparent. Like other reviews I've since read, I was charged over $4,000.00 for a powertrain warranty without my knowledge. My husband and I were told all cars sold at Volkswagon of Freehold came with a warranty, but not one salesman or the financial employee, Jim, went over that there was a cost that came with it. It was not itemized in any paperwork that we were given the first or the second time. My husband or I did not realize we'd been charged $4,000.00 more than agreed upon until we reviewed the paperwork at home. After returning home and realizing, I called the dealership immediately to address the issue. I was told over the telephone that the salesman had left for the day. That was untrue, as we drove an hour back to the dealership with our 3 month old and found him still there, visibly flustered when confronted. Your sales manager made a halfhearted attempt to make it right by offering $1000.00 in a check so he did not have to reach out to his boss, but in the end little was done to resolve the issue. At the time I was just three months postpartum and looking for a safe vehicle for my family, only to be completely taken advantage of. To make matters worse, I received an email guaranteeing a lifetime powertrain warranty that was NOT free (I still have the e-mail as proof), but it was never delivered. Now a year later, my transmission is having issues. I am requesting all documentation for the warranty I was charged for and for this issue to be addressed immediately. It is deeply disappointing that so many "professionals" would exploit honest, unsuspecting individuals.Initial Complaint

I leased an *** back in May and traded in my Jeep Wrangler. I am now receiving multiple calls from the leasing company about my Jeep needing to be paid off. I have attempted to contact the dealership for weeks. There is no ability to leave a message and I left several messages for the sales person on his phone with no response. Come to find out, the dealership has closed down with no way to contact the owner and now I am stuck with the payoff on the Jeep.Initial Complaint

We have a lease for a Volkswagen Jetta through Volkswagen Finance. We completed a lease buy out with Volkswagen of Freehold on August 13, 2024. We financed the lease payoff amount through a private bank. That bank sent the payoff check to Volkswagen of Freehold. Volkswagen of Freehold never paid Volkswagen Finance. The dealership is now closed. We are also still owed our permanent license plates and registration.Initial Complaint

I bought my car from here in February 2024. This dealership has a Policy when you buy a car from them, you get a lifetime worth of free oil changes. I have been trying to contact this dealership for the last three months and have not received a call back. No one has answered the phone and their telephone number forwards you to an answering machine that is no longer able to receive messages. When I contacted corporate, they informed me that they are going through new management and do not have to answer the phone. They informed me to drive up to the dealership, even though it is a 45 minutes to an 1 Hour drive. And schedule a service yet I may not receive the service the same day. I have also been having an issue with my car and wanted to gain insight on fixing this issue and if it is a part of my warranty. I have not been able to get a hold a representative, I have not been able to schedule a service online, I have not been able to leave a voicemail, and this has been going on for a matter of three months or more.Initial Complaint

I purchased a 2024 Volkswagen Jetta on August 17th 2024 from Volkswagen of Freehold. I could not take possession of the car, I was told because of new ownership at the dealership. I said ok and on August 22nd I returned to pick up the car. All went ok until I asked for the second key to the car and was told by the salesman that they couldnt give it to me that day, again because of the new ownership transition but that it will be mailed to me. Enough time has passed and I was gracious enough and I want my key. I cannot reach anyone at the dealership because the entire front office was fired including my salesman, who incidentally was the one who informed me.. my daughter was able to reach **** at service and he took a message in case he sees a manager. Im also owed permanent plates and registration.Initial Complaint

Back on March 28th 2024 we traded our Volkswagen ***** 2022 into ID4 2023 as it was a very good promotion from the government for electric cars. But we still got paid for Volkswagen ***** 2022 for April and May. When we call ************* certified Auto Leasing company we got the answer that we should still pay for the car because it was not paid off.So Volkswagen didn't pay off ***** on time and now on June 19th we got final notice from Leasing company that we have to pay off our car otherwise the vehicle return will be considered a voluntary repossession in 45 days after June19th. Volkswagen Freehold dealership doesn't want to to the right thing we agreed on and doesn't want to pay off the car we traded them in March 28th 2024. They scammed us and intentionally didn't give us the right papers at the time of signing the contract. We posted our case in media and were able to find other people scammed bby Volkswagen Freehold dealership in the same way. PLEASE help us force scammers to do the right thing.Initial Complaint
