A person with my same name was treated at this hospital the results of of the blood work done for that person are showing up on my personal medical records. I am concerned about this issue due to Hippa Guidelines and having someone's medical record on my file could hinder my medical file for treatment and medical history. I contacted the Hospital to inform them of the error spoke to ************************* who told me they would investigate the issue and get back with me they have no sense of urgency 72 hours later they claim they cannot reach the doctor who is on staff ***************************************** ************ This is not acceptable as my medical information is compromised and time is of the essence. I left a message for ******************* boss to call me back have not heard from him. I think it would be important for the *** of the hospital to be made aware of this issue his name Is ***************************. 3 Years ago a patient with my same name went to the same hospital system and it was showing up on my insurance ****. The Hospital needs to improve patient HIPPA and Patient information protocols as confusing patient info puts us at risk and violates are hippa rights. I would like the hospital to confirm they have resolved this issue and have them report this incident to the agency that monitors HIPPA and Patient Rights, I would also like the hospital to accept responsibility if this information causes me any negative issues on my health care or medical issues errors due to this

    Complaint: 16950268

I am rejecting this response because:
Please note my compliant is about my Medical information being compromised. 3 years ago a patient with my same name went to there hospital and my insurance card was used they did not take the appropriate steps to ask for additional information. The result was that patient who was treated by mutiple doctors in there hospital had his medical care billed to my Insurance Cigna. My concern at that time was that the person medical information *** become part of my medical record which would comprise my health care. My other concern was how can I prevent this from happening again if other doctors **** me for this patients care and I am not aware of it it could hurt my credit etc. the Hospital did and investigation and claimed they were responsible for the error, Cigna claimed they notified all the doctors who were billed. Since over 6 months resolving this I asked the hospital to please take the time I spent into consideration and give multiple patients who are indigent a credit on there **** in good faith. ********************* and executive at the hospital assured me that my medical records would not be compromised and that he would sign me up for 5 years of Life Lock to protect me against any bills that *** results form this issue. This year prior to seeing my doctor for a yearly checkup looking  my online  personal medical chart I see Blood work on my chart that I see blood work that is not mine on my medical information. I called my doctor who said the blood work came from a patient in ********** requested by mutiple providers in ********** this is very concerning this medical could put me at risk if for getting the wrong treatment since it does not belong to me. The other concern is the patients information on my chart violates his hippa rights. I have contacted that hospital mutiple times spoke to ************************* ************ ************ that claim they are investigating this serious situation and have made the executive team and everyone on the hippa team aware. I received a call fro the person who responded to this complaint when I called back I received a at ************ it is the customer service department who had no clue about my complaint. The person did not leave there name on my voice mail. and the repose to my complaint on this site makes no sense. As I am still concerned about my medical information being compromised  by there negligence I have never been a patient in there hospital or seen any. of there doctors I live in ******* and never received medical care in **********. This is the second time it has happened. By having one person call me back and leave me a customer service phone to call and fell it is resolved is also very sad for patient care. Please also not the patient who is being seen is having there medical records sent to doctors that have never seen him and my patient file. I would like them to report this to the office of OIG and call me at ************* 0r ************ or email me at ****************** to explain how they are going to resolve this very concerning issue

    Regards,
