      Don't waste your time or money! We purchased the PLATINUM PLAN for our new home. We were told everything was covered, with certain exclusions like septic/sump systems, pool/spa and building damage. We were told the first year was FREE with the purchase of 5 year coverage and it was transferrable to our next home, or to a new buyer. We had a water heater start leaking. We discovered that it was actually the module on the front had burned up and now was leaking allover our garage floor. We were denied as it was classified as "plumbing." Now 7 months later, our master bathroom jetted tub would not shut off. The button was not working. We had to shut the unit off at the breaker box. We file a claim... DENIED. Told we weren't covered because it's an add on? The tub built with the house 23 years ago, which is a vital appliance in our home. I call, and cancel. Now, I'm told my first free year is actually my last year as FREE. And they charged us for canceling their crap service for $75! And have pro=rated my full payment for 5 years deducting the last 8 months that they did absolutely nothing! This company is a joke and needs to read and re-write the verbiage in their contracts, train their sales team better and BE HONEST!

      If I can give a no star, I would. I purchased 3 five-year plans from Select Home Warranty on 5/11/22, and paid $6,750. The contract terms include a clause that I can cancel within 30 days from the order for a full refund (no administrative fee or cancellation fee or proration). Our A/C broke down (in AZ heat) this last Sunday (6/5) night. On Monday morning, I took the day off from work to take care of it, and called them to file a repair claim. Their vendor was not available same day although I mentioned we are dealing with a medical condition emergency. So, I ended up using our own vendor who was available immediately. So, I called Select HW back to let them know that I was canceling my repair claim and contracts with them, they would put me on hold for processing. During that time, their vendor started calling me to say he was on his way (apparently, they put me on hold to inform their vendor). I informed him he's too late, and that I have my own vendor fixing the A/C. Since then, I was put on hold (sometimes over 60 minutes before they hung up, blaming COVID) in all 9-10 call trials to process the cancellation of my contracts. I wasn't able to reach anyone from their cancellation department (when selling, they answer immediately, but not when cancelling). I was able to finally reach someone to process the cancellation of the 3 contracts on Tuesday (6/7) morning. They took the information; they said that I could not file it online and it had to be verbally by phone. They told me that I would get an email confirmation within 24-48 hours. Called them Wednesday 6/8 to see if they have my cancellation request in their system; they said yes. Called again Thursday 6/9 to let them know that still no confirmation email received; they gave me cancellation ticket numbers. Called them again three days later (Friday 6/10), they said that I have no cancellation in process!!! It appears they are purposely delaying refunding my money in full.

      NEVER NEVER NEVER again will I do business with this company!!! I would advise anyone considering a home warranty company to do the same. They are a total SCAM and FRAUDS!! I purchased a home warranty package from them, three year Premium coverage that was prorated refundable after a year and fully transferable if we moved. So I gave them $1385 full payment for the 3 years. After a year we moved from CA to NC. Refund on remaining 2 years was after I paid back all claims that I had. With penalties and fees think the refund less than $100. So they said I could transfer to new house in NC in April. Now I have a service request in June and they say coverage not transferable because I had a claim before. In other words because I used the warranty it was now not transferable even though I have it in writing. Total liars!! Fraudulent contract coverage!! NEVER NEVER

      I purchased a home warranty for 1 yr from Select Home Warranty with the understanding that if something broke that, if it fell under their appliances on their list, it would be fixed or replaced. My built in microwave has stopped working so I submitted a claim and without a phone call or conversation the "resolution" team claimed it was not cost effective to replace and would only give me $95 to put towards the replacement. After talking to customer service, was only fed lines corporate lines that the resolution team had made their decision and wouldn't speak to anyone. When I purchased the home warranty I was sold, that the appliances would be replaced if they couldn't be fixed. I was misled and now not only out the price of the warranty amount I paid $499 but now have to replace the microwave with only $95 which doesn't even cover half of what a new one would cost to replace let alone the price to install the unit. Waste of money and 100% a scam!

      I filed a claim on my A/C, I live in Texas and we are in the middle of 100+ degree temperatures. It's been three weeks and nothing. I call, to a call center outside of the US, can barely understand customer service agent and keep being told that I should hear something in the next 24 to 48hrs. Very unhappy with this company and would NOT recommend to my worst enemy!! This is the second home warranty company I have used and received the same result!! I chose this company becuase of the awards that they claimed to have won.

      I bought a package from SHW in August 2020 and now for the first time, I have reported a major problem as of May 2nd. I claimed a service request on May 1st as the AC on the ground floor of my house stopped working and I am still waiting for the problem to be resolved from that day forward. As soon as SHW learned of the problem, they immediately sent a technician company for diagnosis, but the next day they sent another technician company and after this technician was diagnosed, they found the same problem in the same part and offered to replace it. After receiving the offer from two different technicians, SHW asked me for the photos of the AC unit, especially the photos showing the Model and Serial number. I sent more than 30 e-mails in jpeg, png, tiff, and pdf formats for about the last 3 weeks and talked to the SHW representatives on the phone almost every day and asked them to send the technician asap. Although the images were fine and opened on Mac and Windows PC, SHW said they either didn't receive an email or there were no attachments in my emails or they couldn't open attachments during this time. About 10 days ago, a lady from Resolution Team called and we confirmed the Model and serial number in the pictures. As of that day, I started to think that I could get service now, but as of today, it has been 37 days and this morning, in my conversations with another representative, they said that they are still waiting for a photo of the AC unit from me. Last week, we confirmed the serial number and model number of the AC with another representative from the Resolution Team, but they are still saying that they are still waiting for a picture, like a joke. In each phone call, the staff politely said that the problem would be resolved by the solution team as soon as possible and that I would receive a response within 48 hours at the most. I have lived in different countries and unfortunately, this is the worst service experience in my life.

      I don’t recommend this company. We have been with them for a little over a year now and they have yet to help us. The first claim we called was for our Samsung refrigerator due to it started leaking. We told him at least 10 times on the call that it was a Samsung they sent someone over and he literally just looked at it and said oh it’s a Samsung I can’t work out and we still had to pay her $60. Then we called in another claim for a sprinkler system on March 28 and it now being June 8 they still haven’t done anything about it. I have been the one that had to call every day and get things going. We were unable to water our yard and now one of our trees has died from it. I would not use this company. We will be canceling with them and going with the new company

      The worst Warranty Company and customer service ever. 2 reasons to have a home warranty. 1). So the warranty provides a service by contacting the contractor and working on an agreed payment for resolve. 2). To not be out of pocket for a big expense all at once. These guys failed to meet either obligation. Be warned. Long story short, I had plumbing issues that started in March. Its now June.. First they couldn't locate a plumber in my area for weeks I think it was 3 actually. They authorized me to find one myself. I waited over 3 weeks to do this because I knew it would be a hassle to get my money reimbursed. Man was I right. We had 3 jobs for the plumber to resolve. (1. clogged shower drain, 2. broken sink pipe, 3. clogged sink drain.) we got 2 claims submitted for the repairs and had to make a 3rd repair due to not knowing the sink was clogged. We called the warranty co. back and they gave us an authorization code to add that job. We were offered $385 for 2 repairs but were scared to claim either due to them not paying us for the 3rd job (sink drain). First they requested an itemized bill from the plumber which I got done within a couple of days. We called so many times now I've lost count maybe 10?? 12?? Finally, I got someone to look over the details only after me asking them to break down my reimbursements 1 by 1… they saw I was not being paid for the sink drain repair. I spent maybe 45min on the phone and he helped me send another claim over. we thought it was finally going to be resolved "Wrong" They retracted the $191 snake on the sink and submitted $103 for the drain repair..So I’m now back peddling instead of $385; we are now being offered $277 for the $680 bill..heh they now denied my claim for the snaking of the sink which they had already sent me reimbursement for originally...not to mention this was approved by a authorization code over the phone while the plumber was at the location. Calling again...

      Horrible company, my hot water heater went out as did my a/c and nothing was covered. Partly my fault for not reading all of the contract thoroughly. That being said they don’t cover most of the main reasons an appliance would go out. Really poor coverage on important home appliances. Never had an issue with a warranty company until this one. You get what you pay for. Lesson learned.
