1 starWhat a scam! Filed a claim, never received a call for the ******* to come out, was then told they didn't have any providers in the area. Why do a pay for the service if they don't service my area? Hired my own ******* to come out who used to contract through them. Found out *** owes them over $60K in past due bills. They said my main sewer line under slab was broken and rotting, needs to be repaired. *** finally found another ******* to get 2nd opinion. 2nd ******* agreed with findings of 1st ******* and even said this is a great price for the work. *** said they would not authorize repair because line is currently not blocked and flowing. Yes, it is currently not blocked because 1st ******* had to Hydrojet it to get all the roots out to see what exactly was going on. But was told not to use bathroom until repair can be done. So now I sit almost 2 weeks out from initial claim and no functioning bathroom. I have smelling water damaged drywall and an elderly parent in my house who can't use her bathroom. Because *** will not approve the repair, I have further damage happening to my slap. Do not use this service! What a scam!Review fromBob J

1 starDo not under any circumstances use this company. I tried to log into my account just to check what I had. For the last 3 months they continue to tell me that they are having a "IT" issues. I spent 4 hours today going through 6 different people trying to get simple login issue resolved. Imagine if I needed a service call?Every call is outsourced to outside the ** This is looking like a ************ Funny, They still send me mail asking to sign up for additional services. That seems to work OK. Too good to be true?Review fromBerlinda B

1 starI DO NOT recommend that anyone purchase the Protection Plan from American Resources. It is a waste of time and money. The customer service component is outsourced to other countries, and the representatives are difficult to understand and appear to read from a script. I spent a couple of hours on the phone trying to understand my policy plan and contacting them regarding the protection plan coverage and scheduling service to tell me it's not covered. When I tried to cancel the plan, they told me that I had to wait until the last day of the Service Plan. The actual plumbing service is outsourced to contractors who are left to explain the shortcomings of the protection plan. I was told the plan would cover leaks in the house. It doesn't cover the bathroom tub cartridge, which is the reason I have an extremely high-water bill. I gave them 1 star because I couldn't understand the person on the phone, then recommended a supervisor, then was told the supervisor isn't around.Review fromEarl R

1 starThe water company of *** has a sewer and back up option serviced by a company called American water resource. This company is the worst to deal with. I?f you take a look at the Better Business Bureau website and the reviews of this company? They all are basically the same complaint, when do we hold this company accountable? I have been dealing with this company since around January 25th 2025.I've had back up in the past, and I have never called them, though I've been paying for this service for years. I am now getting backups and I do travel with my girlfriend ?at times. I called American Water Resource to let them know that while I was away It appears that I have a backup in multiple places in my basement. I literally have been going back and forth with managers, customer escalation ***** to no avail. No one has given me a solution, but they do give me many excuses. They will send one of two companies out, but the same excuse is that we don't see an immediate back?up, so will not do a **** thing. This is inexcusable, because you don't see a backup at this moment, it doesn't mean that I don't have a problem. I have pictures of where the backup has happened, in my trap room, boiler room, and in the bathroom. I had another company come ? out?,charge? me $326.63 on 03/03/25 to show that there is definitely a broken pipe somewhere in the grass area of my lawn leading out to the sewer in the street. Because this is a costly repair, they refuse to come out and fix it, and I'm sure that's why. As I've said before, look at their reviews on the BBB and their ****** reviews, mostly trash and the same results and excuses. I wish i could give them a -star.Review fromMaureen C

1 starIf I could leave zero stars, I would. American Water Resources sent Roto-Rooter to fix my basement drain. First ******** would not do it. He called in two more ********s, they would not do it. A supervisor was called to come to my house. The supervisor said Roto-Rooter could fix it, but American Water Resources would not allow them under the contract I have with them. After five years of having this policy, no one in American Water Resources informed me that my repairs would no longer be allowed. I canceled my policy immediately. Shame on them.Review fromErin B

1 starI can not even leave a 1 Star! My spouse and I moved into a home. Our first time together. And we're having unexpected things thrown at us left and right. Talking to the neighbors we found out that we were responsible for the street lines in the street. Such as the lateral line for the sewer. I've never heard of this before in my life. That's typically on the township that's what we pay taxes for. Homeowners doesn't cover it. So I decided it would be smart to get a warranty plan. When we bought the house we were told The roof was brand new 6 months in We have a leak. We again had a leak so We just decided to have the roof free done. As the roof was being done I was doing laundry and the water started backing up at the street line. I called American water resource they sent somebody out. Who said to me this is their findings I don't want to promise you anything but we're confident this is going to be covered there's no reason it shouldn't be. The very next day denied. They denied me for A pre-existing problem. Because the roots or something. That's not in the fine print. Why even allow me to sign on to this program if you're not going to give us the peace of mind that we thought we had only that have it smacked in her face that we don't. ****** has been so amazing the whole office knows our case and is blown away that it's being denied that they're trying to work with us and all for us discount pricing and stuff. I had to take off of work. Who's paying me for that? Pre-existing would be if I was calling them out here consistently prior to this happening. This is why you get warranties so you're covering you're okay. Or see you at least think so. Nobody should ever use this company. ******* a manager at American water resource told me that if the plumber changed their report to say this in this wording that he would approve it. The plumber did so and they still denied it. They who not even come up with some type of plan to help you financially through some of it.Review fromLeonard G

EVERY phone call took between 43 and 84 minutes, I was on hold or transferred in these calls. I paid for this "Warranty" for over 9 years, about $6,000 in payments..My first-ever claim was Nov. 2024. A **** water device that detected leaks that the ** American Water Co. suggested that I add to my plumbing system back in 2022. In 2024, **** noted that the device was defective, needed repaid & they sent the repair parts free. .I called ******** to exercise my warranty & was promised that a contractor would call me soon to schedule a repair visit. I was issued a claim number. No one called to schedule a visit..In Dec. 2024, I called again & was promised someone would arrive. .On January 27, 2025, a "repairman" arrived, remained at my home for less than 10 minutes & left without doing the repair stating that another company had to do the repair.. I was told that *** would contact me to schedule someone. .AMR never called me..Due to family illnesses, I was unable to follow-up until March..I realized by March 13, 2025 that I was never contacted by AMR. I called AMR, spoke with "*******", provided my warranty ********** was assured that a repairman would be scheduled..No calls to me..I called on March 28th, spoke with "****", and was assured that a repairman would come to my home. He promised to escalate my claim to the "Ops Manager" in Florida to make sure that I was serviced. He promised to call me on March 29th but not later than March 31, 2025..On April 3, 2025, I spoke with "***", who was disrespectful & told me that my claim was NOT VALID ! He said that his management told him to tell me the bad news - 4 months later!.I asked him to send me a letter explaining why. .HE REFUSED TO SEND A *********** referred me to my "Terms of Service" to figure out why!.I called AMR to cancel & they offered me the same warranty for HALF PRICE!.I refused. I lost $6,000 & over 4 hours on the phone with this possible SCAM.American Water Resources, LLC

My husband and I bought American Water Resources sewage line protection coverage on our property at the recommendation of our ********** was a nightmare filing a claim with them, and our issue was ultimately never resolved. In addition, they've hiked up their rates substantially since we first bought coverage with them. In trying to cancel our coverage, they have been extremely difficult. I'm worried after reading other reviews that they will continue to charge us. I would not recommend this company to anyone.American Water Resources, LLC

This company really feels like a scam. I paid my bill every month and never filed a claim. I called to cancel my account in dec 2024 but was convinced to have my bill halved. I accepted that but ultimately decided to call back later in Dec 2024 to cancel fully. We are now in April and I have called back every month because they are still charging my AM water bill. AM is claiming they cannot do anything about it because they are a separate company. So why do they have the same name! I signed up because I thought this was apart of the water company. But now they have nothing to do with each other and they can't refund my money, they will just continue to send them the payment I am telling them I cancelled? This is ridiculous. I have called both companies every month and I am now on the phone with them AGAIN and he's telling me foolishness. I was not expecting to have to deal with this when I am calling a company I thought was reputable but am seeing now is NOT! Both these companies have no interest in helping me or doing business in good faith.American Water Resources, LLC

Called company and talked to a rude girl who couldn't have cared less. Claimed they got his name from water company which is impossible since I moved to this town and address after he died!!! She then asked if I wanted their service!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?!American Water Resources, LLC
