The worst place to bring your beloved fur family. Just dont do it. They tortured my old black cat. She went in for loss of appetite. A few hours later, came back out with her whole back of neck skin, about 2.5 inches in diameter, PEELED OFF. It was the most HORRIFIC and GRUESOME sight. It still hurts to this day. WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER? You tried to yank her out of her pet carry so hard, didnt you?Oradell Animal Hospital

My **** year fur baby was taken with an appt toOradell Animal Hospital in *******, ** on 1/2/24 due for vomiting and loose stool. Dr had blood work done and said that his blood work said pancreatitis reading and it might be only due to throwing up and stool issue. He was given meds for nausea, etc and sent home. He had stopped throwing up, but stool still loose. He didnt want to eat or drink water and was taken back. On 1/7 - Another Dr said he was severely dehydrated and confirmed he had gastritis and pancreatitis. Dr recommended hospitalization for 1-2 days. He only stayed 1 day and another Dr said he ate a little and might do better at home due to him being a finicky eater. On 1/8 discharge -My husband carried him home and I feed him his favorite boiled chicken. He ate it quickly as he did before being ill. The next day he continued not eating or drinking water. My husband feed him water with a sippy cup, gave him his meds and tried feeding him often. This place never told us the severity of his illness. We paid over $500 first visit - for an under diagnosed condition, hospital stay over $4,000. My baby was in severe pain and dying. His urine became orange and stool black. Every time something was unusual with him my husband called the hospital for advice. The day he was passing, my husband called them and they said to bring him in. Also, the receptionist told my husband was he looking for a miracle. That day he barked three times in agony, his tongue came out. He passed on 1/11/24 without the care he should have had due to being the best fur baby in the world. I cannot get this devastating imagine out of my head. He was going to be 19 years old on 2/9/24. These individuals at this hospital do not deserve to treat anyone medically. I pray for better days, despite this has torn a piece of my heart. Thank you *********************************Oradell Animal Hospital

********,First and foremost our deepest condolences on your loss. We offer medical support and make treatment recommendations based on a patient's condition. We did offer several options to you, however I will not be able to discuss those on such a public platform. It is however ultimately up to the pet owner on how they want to proceed. I am sorry to hear that our receptionist made a comment to you and we will look into that internally to address it. We are sorry for your loss of ******.Review fromDesiree L

My vet suggested I bring my cat here because he was blocked and couldnt go to the bathroom and needed round the clock enemas and my vet closed at 5. So I went there and told them why my vet sent me there and they said my cat would receive that care. They first charged my credit card over ***** then took my cat, when I called I was told by the doctor my cat still didnt p*** and wouldnt eat just stayed in same position. I asked if he had an X-ray and she said no and he probably wont get one tonight because they are busy with other patients. I was shocked. They were pushing an operation to cut his colon that was *****. I picked him up after 3 days and they only gave him 4 enemas, the whole point in going there was to give him enemas around the clock. They brought him out to me and the receptionist called me and said she tried to put on another $500 and my card was denied. She asked if they gave me my cat already and I said yes and she sounded upset about that. When I got home my cat was covered in urine and couldnt stand. I called them immediately and was told well he sat in the cage in the same spot for 3 days thats probably why. I brought him to Westwood Regional. They gave him an e**** and in two hours he was unblocked. I then get ***d by Oradell and they stick in their paperwork that they researched and found out Im not in the military. I never claimed to be in the military was that some ploy to make the judge think Im a liar? I researched and found over 300 similar cases like mine and they put a lien on someones house. Their lawyer tried to get that info dismissed. I counter ***d. I didnt have a lawyer and the judge dismissed it without prejudice. I now get a letter from their lawyer for me to list my assets. I didnt get what I was promised for my pet and they were paid over ***** and they have the nerve to *** me for another 600 because they tacked on filling fees. This is horrendous what they did to my cat and what they did and are still doing to me!!Oradell Animal Hospital

****,The remainder balance is what was owed for the hospital ****** during your pet's stay and care. Once we hand over the balance to the outside party they do the gathering of additional information and the legalities of it. We also have a grace ****** of 48 hours for you to bring your pet back on emergency if your pet is still not doing well and you would not be charged the emergency room visit. We hope your pet is doing well.Review fromJordan D

This place is a scam. They charged me $230 twice without an exotic specialist in house both times. They didnt give me any help or answers. Sent me home with less than I could have found on ****** and refused to assist me when I asked to speak to an admin. They sent me home with another patients medical record including ALL of her personal information including home address and phone number. They were cursing out a patient after hanging up on them and speaking unprofessionally in my presence. Be very careful spending all y time here, all it was for me was two wasted trips and no help at all.Oradell Animal Hospital

******, Without going into detail due to Oradell Animal Hospital respecting your privacy on a public platform, I would like to mention you came back on two separate occasions both using our emergency services which do not include seeing a specific doctor such as an Exotics Specialist. We made recommendations based on the assessment. Our administration department did not refuse to help you. I personally spoke to you on the phone and let you know that I would handle the medical records concern and pharmacy issue internally. We hope you are able to see an exotics specialist or have your pet seen in an emergency if no improvement has been made.Review fromApril P

If I could give it less than 1 star I would ! I contacted them saying my pet needed emergency care and we had already given another hospital $2000 a few days prior. They said we do not have a payment plan but we take cash , check or credit card. ( care credit had already been used ) i let them know my pet could die without the care he needed but they were not concerned- so sad ! So disgusting! My pet died at home - no one should ever be turned away when they need care - I pleaded with them to help us . I am so disappointed that they turned their backs on us because we didnt have the financial means . Now my pet is gone foreverOradell Animal Hospital

April,My condolences on your loss. We will always try and keep a patient stable and comfortable during a time of need. We know that circumstances such as yours can be unexpected and clients are not always prepared financially for treatment. We unfortunately are not able to extend an in-house payment plan which is why we offer Care Credit and Scratch Pay amongst the other payment options listed above. We are also able to make humane recommendations or give information about other clinics that *** help if cost is a concern. We always want the best for our patients and strive to give the best possible care.Review fromFrank M.

My cat was more than a pet, she was family. Her thyroid condition took a turn for the worse during the holiday season in late December of 2022 and her treating veterinarian was not available. I took my baby to emergency at Oradell Animal Hospital and was advised by the attending veterinarian that for $5,000, my baby could be made new. I didn't have five-thousand dollars or pet health insurance. I even wanted to make an installment plan arrangement with them and they told me to forget it. I opted for home therapy for $1,200, which did not work. I took her back two days after the initial evaluation. Initially, the attending veterinarian stated that my baby had to be euthanized. After they left me alone with her, I blamed myself for the failure of the home therapy. I expressed my thoughts to the attending veterinarian who agreed and stated that they could try the same therapy again for another $1,200. The attending veterinarian who obviously had no clinical experience or how to manage herself in a crisis went from euthanasia to selling false hope with another round of treatment. This was my baby so of course I signed the form and I am financially responsible. That is not the issue. The issue is the cruel and inhumane treatment of an animal in distress and the same cruel and inhumane treatment of the emotional state of the owner by Oradell Animal Hospital when they install false hope. They have no idea and they can care less about your emotional state during the ordeal and afterwards or the condition of the animal just as long as you sign. My baby died on their watch and I am living with that. Laywers won't touch a case like this becasue of the law and politicians are too scared to even address it. Your best bet is to please do your research and go to another animal hospital or clinic with high standards of care and professionalism.Oradell Animal Hospital

*****,All recommendations, complications, and options were discussed. Ultimately it is up to you as the pet owner to make decisions. Whether it be pertaining to your pet's care or finances. Our skilled and licensed veterinarians make recommendations based on our exam findings. We care for the patient's well-being and the pet owner. Our condolences on your loss.Frank M.

It is obvious that you didn't read my statement. Also, I am not even certain if you actually work for Oradell Animal Hospital or are just paid by them to respond but your response is condescending and arrogrant. Your "skilled and licensed" veterinarian based the next course of action on a lack of professionalism, training, empathy, and morality. The attending veterinarian shifted the course of action fron euthanasia to another round of treatment not based on your exam findings but greed fueled by an opportunity to exploit a dying animal and the distraught pet owner. I also received your intimidating letter right after I posted the initial review on June 20, which hardly demonstrated any caring for the loss of my baby or for me as the pet owner. You and Oradell Animal Hospital are monsters and should be put out of business but you hide behind the weak laws of the State that only view pets as property of minimal value. So, if anyone slse is reading this, please do not bring your loved one to Oradell Animal Hospital and do your research in finding a reputable and professional animal hospital or clinic with an excellent reputation and high standards of veterinarian care. Please do not put yourself and your pet through the same horrifying ordeal that my family experienced with Oradell Animal Hospital.Review fromDonna M

I left a full account of my experience on ****** Review. To summarize, they wanted to charge me 12k to save my dogs life and suggested putting her down when I said I couldn't afford it. Months later, my dog is completely recovered and doing great thanks to my local vets care. This place is a cash grab. Absolutely disgusting.Oradell Animal Hospital

1 starOn August 12, 2022, I brought my dog, ******* to Oradell Animal Hospital. ******* had previously been diagnosed with congestive heart failure and was in end stage. I left ******* there for a few hours so they could put him in an oxygen tank to see if his condition improved. When I came back the vet advised me that ******** condition did not improve. I decided it was time to let him go. I placed ******* on the exam table where he took one long breath and collapsed and did not move again. The vet rushed in the room and immediately started to administer the medication to end life. In my opinion this was not necessary since ******* was gone. I received a bill from OAH for $785.72, one line item was $300 for euthanasia. I called OAH and was told by ***** that she spoke with the vet and ******* was suffering so she gave the shot. I completely disagreed with this assessment and felt that there was no reason to give the shot and I should not have to pay the $300. I paid $485.72 of the bill because it was the right thing to do. I have been going to OAH since they were in Oradell for emergency and specialty vet services. I have had many rescues animals. Upwards of probably 25 animals. And currently have 6. I am a loyal customer who always goes there when in need of their services even though there are many bad reviews from people, I continued to be a customer. Now after all these years, I will never step foot back in their faciality with any of my animals ever again. Why? Because there is no reason at all for them not to understand my unhappiness with the $300 charge AND for them to not respond to repeated requests to discuss this situation. I have no choice but to pay the $300 because I am sure they will *** me for that money. But in the future, they will never get another dime from me. My money and my pets will go someplace else. How incredibly sad that after all these years this is what it comes to.Review fromNicole S

Just browsing through BBB and saw many people that had similar issues to me when getting their pet emergency help. My cat was dying. I could see it. Nonresponsive, puking loads of water, not using the bathroom, eyes teary and leaking, and moaning in pain. They do an xray. They tell me nothing was wrong from the xray. I take my cat and leave. Cat gets even worse. I call back the next morning. They need to take another ****** xray. Uhm no. You just told me nothing was on it and it was taken just half a day ago. Then I ask for a ballpark estimate if he needs surgery. The quote me anywhere from 4k to 9k. Like.. sure... that's one h*** of a gap.I found am excellent ER vet that same day. She did the xray with a very obvious blockage in my cats intestines. She pretty much said my cat was on his last hours and took him into surgery. Thankfully he survived but he several feet of sewing thread bunched up in his intestines. As far as I'm concerned, OAH just steals your money. They probably don't even do xrays...just charge you for them. They never even showed me the xray I paid for.Oradell Animal Hospital
