      I purchased a 2019 Land Rover Discovery from this dealership in 2023. Within 5 months of purchasing the vehicle from this dealership, the engine started making a weird ticking sound. We brought it to a mechanic and were told it may need a new engine. At that point, my husband called the dealership, explained the situation to try and resolve the issue because we just bought the car a few months prior. They made it seem like they were going to help us. They told my husband if we brought the car in, they would put us in a different car. We went to the dealership and they wanted another down payment around $4000, which is what I already gave them the first time for the Land Rover and my car payment was going to be almost $900 a month on a used car. THAT IS NOT RESOLVING THE ISSUE. Since then the car has since been to 2 different mechanics and finally we were told that I did need a new engine. We were quoted $24,000 for parts and labor, that was for a brand new engine to be installed. The Kelly BB value, is around $15,000 for this car. That mechanic suggested purchasing a used engine and having it installed. We decided to purchase a used engine ($4100) to have it installed from another mechanic. The labor from the other mechanic started at $6000 and was too pricey for us. The website we purchased the engine from turned out to be fake and we were scammed out of $4100. I submitted a claim to BBB for that as well. This car has been nothing but a headache for us and has been sitting in my driveway since last year and can not be driven. We would like this to be resolved somehow with the dealership. Either they fix the engine or work with us on a replacement vehicle. How does a car need a brand new engine within a few months of purchase?

      BEWARE! The manager here doesnt want to sell vehicles; he wants to lock you into financing. He's unwilling to budge on pricing once he realizes you dont need such. As a matter of fact, he will add on imaginary costs. The vehicle in question was listed for ******, and he attempted to assert that the 8% sales tax on that price was $2700. Once he realized we werent idiots and that it was in fact, $2400, he attempted to say that the tax amount was based on what he bought the vehicle for, which was ****** (he declared this after reasoning that the ****** was only for those who were financing ??) I countered that even with that price - the taxes were still NO MORE than $2500, (Im a math teacher). Moreover, we had our own tag which required transfer only. This price is typically around $200, $250 if the dealer conducting it is being a douche, and even with all that - the total price would STILL be ******. After all that, he made another declaration, noting that he wanted to make AT LEAST $1500 profit. Therefore, we were willing to make the deal for $35,000 total with no financing required.However, he kept pushing another funky $2000, claiming it was taxes, AND kept offering to finance with 10 - 15k down! Seriously dude? Who still finances WITH money done? That money would go directly to the dealership, which, in my experience, only needs to be a conduit between the consumer who needs financing (not us) and the bank.So yeah, the manager is a sleazeball. He must receive kickbacks from financing. Ive never known anyone not to want to sell a car outright. Maybe it was because I out mathed him? ??
