1 starI never received anything from Velocity Investments but all the sudden had a sheriff knock on my door while I was away on business of a few weeks. This was a debt that my ex-wife ran up back in 2020 with her Doctor boyfriend!!! I never even knew about this and NOW I'm being sued!! and I have left messages to them with NO call back. The next step is contacting the ************************* in *******.Review fromLee W

1 starThis company buys up old debts and IMMEDIATELY sues without ever contacting the customer. The business practices of this company need to be looked into. I'd give 0 stars if I could. This company should be shut down!Review fromSteven B

1 starI had the misfortune of dealing with Velocity Investments with their acquisition of CKS Prime Investments. To say the experience was nothing short of a disaster and embarrassing for Velocity would be an understatement. The reason I review Velocity is their ownership of and handling of compliance and correspondence for CKS Prime Investments as noted on their website. As part of my agreement to pay an account they were collecting on, I entered into an agreement with their subcontractor (January ************ as apparently it wasn't large of a debt to sue) for them to delete the account in exchange for ceasing ***orting on it. I've got this in writing and the obligation was handled on my end. When the account was not removed from my credit ***ort, I contacted January ************ who says talk to ***... *** does not take calls and their email address noted at Velocity goes unanswered. I just filed with the BBB and they agreed to remove it after many useless run around calls. 60+ days later the item has not been removed as was noted in their response. I contact Velocity again and was quickly forward to ********* ****** (I believe Collections Manager?) and never heard back on two calls and two emails over two weeks. As it is abundantly clear, Velocity drops you like a hot potato after you pay without honoring obligations they or their agent of record agreed to. Unfortunately, but not surprising, this runs contrary to their proposed 'Code of Ethics' on their website and bold speak about compliances they hold. The collection did drop off, but good grief if you have to deal with Velocity... I wish you luck. They are shady, blame shift and deny responsibility in similar fashion to a toddler with their hand literally caught in the cookie jar. Best part, you can't even get the freaking manager to ***ly or answer a phone after a *** indicates that is who to talk to and there isn't a way in heck you will get a call back. Velocity, you are a disgrace to the collection industry.Review fromNatalie e

1 starI want to say I am not liable for this debt as I do not have a contract with VELOCITY INVESTMENTS LLC. I was never informed of the change in hands. I went through some health issues and the meds I was on made me forget things. I am now being sued for this. I have payment arrangement set up thanks to a mediation, but this is causing stress bc of how this went about. Some leniency would be helpful but doubt that will help.Review fromBenjamin W

1 starI am apparently being sued by this company. A default judgement was entered against me. I was never even served for the court hearing. They have my information listed on the court docket as just my name. No date of birth, no race and they listed my address at the law firms address. Pure negligence on their part on and on the part of my local court. If the judge wouldve simply reviewed the information that was filed, the case would have been thrown out. I do not believe I owe these people a dime in the first place. I have saved all of this documentation and am prepared to counter **** The attorneys I have been speaking with are leaning towards a class action suit so hopefully anyone who has been wronged by this company will get what is owed to them.Review fromGloria R

1 starWorst place to EVER go through. They are currently suing me over $2,000!!!! What in the actual hell! Ive never in my life came across such a ***** creditor! With how the economy is they dont give you a chance to catch a **** break. Im currently enrolled in a debt relief program and they have this creditor in negotiation and all of the sudden Im being sued???? Why?? Youre in negotiation. I can guarantee you nothing but brainless birds work for this company. I cant even express my full frustration to this idiotic company. They need to be shut down, ASAP. I hope something bad happens to them and they go bankrupt or they lose all their money so they know exactly what we feel like. I would say exactly how I feel but its not appropriate at all, but with that being said. SHUT DOWN VELOCITY INVESTMENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!Review fromLynn R

1 starMostly debt collection BUT instead of sending you an invoice or debt validity like most companies they immediately send it to court for a process server to summons and garnish you. Beware they do NOT give you a chance to make payments or verify the debt is even yours until summoned, Straight to court you go. Very Crooked lawyers, debt collectors.Review fromMariano D

1 star************** This group is a SCAM AND SHOULD BE DiSBANDED AS WELL AS HELD ACCOUNTABLE IN A CLASS ACTION SUIT. In one of the previous reviews about them leaving complaint copy from the court filing on the door and not in any records or credit file - and in my case, mailed a copy of asking a court for a 120 day extension to cure - when the bill, which was not identified or listed is fraudulent and filed in *****, *******. So, everyone should be aware of these scam artists and continue to report their activity to the BBB and proper authorities for harassment.Review fromShannon L

1 starThey filed a Notice to Cure against my husband and I in March 2024 on a personal unsecured loan with ************* over 8 years ago and received no notification of this company taking over financial obligation. We filed an answer to their Notice and now we have to appear before a magistrate judge to settle. They have many inconsistencies in their paperwork that will be spelled out in a Motion to Dismiss to be filed with Court. I also have put this matter in my attorneys hands.Review fromCassandra F

1 starI found out about velocity investments on 02/20/2024 and there was a summons taped to my door. I read the summons, went straight to my files, credit reports, and bank statements for the amount they had listed. Did not find anything with Velocity investments or ************ listed. I then filed an answer with them and the court dated 02/24/2024. I googled Velocity Investments and found out that they buy old debt so I requested that they verify the debt asking for account information showing where funds had been deposited, asking for a signature or copy of my ID/DL proving this was my debt that they had bought. They sent me a stack of documents, but failed to provide me with proof this debt was/is mine. If this was my account why do they not have ANY account or routing numbers? A copy of anything verifying my identity? NOTHING verifying my identity. While waiting for verification i received more paperwork requesting I provide info i had requested from them. One would think if they deposited money into my accounts they would have this information and could have given it to me when i requested it, if it were actually my debt. They bought this debt back in December of 2022. They had 5 days LEGALLY within purchase to notify me. Until 14 MONTHS later on 02/20/2024 i had no knowledge of the original account or that they had bought it. If they thought this debt was actually mine, why wait 14 months to contact me? why not call my number or write me a letter within that 5 day timeframe required by law? At this point I am filing the answers to their questions with the court and then I will be contacting an attorney. I feel like they just decided i was the right ***************************** and me actually owing or not is unimportant to them. Clearly following the law and contacting me within the 5 days is unimportant to them.I do NOT have a legal obligation to Velocity Investments or ************** They have failed to show me any proof at all this debt is, was or ever has been mine.
