Solar company *******. Trinity solar started the process to supply us with solar. Contract signed on may 29, 2024. Panels put on roof. Were only supposed to use back of house for maximum sun exposure. 2 panels put on front of house. Trinity notified. No change. Building inspector came. Support panels placed in *****. Have been waiting for these solar panels to be turned on. We make calls constantly and no one returns the calls. It has been since May and still have no service or answers nor do they return our calls. We were instructed that we could not receive IRS credit for solar use because they get the credit as it is their equipment. I feel I should get credit for storing their equipment as it has never been hooked up to runBusiness Response

*** and Mrs. ****** entered into a solar agreement with ************** on May 6, 2024. Since then, Trinity Solar has maintained consistent communication with *** ****** to keep them informed at every step of their solar journey.
Most recently, the Stellas utility company required additional work before the system could be turned on. On December 6, 2024, a Trinity Solar Manager spoke with *** ****** regarding the work required on his utility meter to be completed before the system can be energized. This latest delay stems from the utility's inability to perform the work in a timely manner. Nonetheless, we were able to expedite this work, now scheduled for completion on December 10, 2024.
We sincerely appreciate the Stellas' patience and understanding as we work through this process. We remain committed to ensuring their solar system is fully operational and supporting them throughout their solar journey.Initial Complaint

Hi.I referred by ****** ******* to Trinity in 2022, where I was promised a one time $1,000.00 for signing and Edriss would get the same amount. Also I was promised a $2,500.00 from Trinity Rep ***** *************, incentive money he said was available for the program If I cut the trees at my house so the roof could get enough sun light to keep project going faster. As I'm filling this complaint I have only received $500.00 of that money. When called so many times, ****** ************* told me that they have mailed me a $1,000.00 check which I have never received and told me that the check never got cashed either and promised me to mail me another one which never happened. Prior of installing solar panels to my house, the roof contractor failed to let me know that my roof was not in good shape, while there was incentive money for home owners to replace their roof prior of solar installation and they decided to go with the installation anyway. Right now my roof is leaking, while they admitted for their failure on noticed me about the roof, now they refused to replace my roof. I spoke with Trinity roof team leader ***** ********* where he admitted of their failure for the roof inspection and told me after all discounts they would replace the roof for me for $13,000.00 and I told him i couldn't afford it. Now they have ***** ************* handle the case, and he told me Trinity agreed to replace the roof for $7,000.00 and they will provide me the first 5 sheets of plywood for free and any other plywood needed I will have to pay $100 to have it put down. I told him I don't have money and don't have a clue how much that could end up and told him to see if Trinity would agree to pay for the new plywoods and I would go with Trinity loan to pay the $7,000.00. After a day They want me to pay $19,000.00 to replace the roof after their failure in the first place. I need help dealing with Trinity that refuses to give me my money and fulfill their responsibility.Business Response

In previous inspections of his roof, it was identified that the Mr. ******** roof lacks the proper airflow in the attic causing his roof to leak. The blown-in insulation is blocking the airflow.
A Trinity Solar Manager has been in direct communication with Mr. ******** most recently on 12/5/24, to address his roofing concerns and discuss a path forward. During this conversation, we reviewed the preexisting conditions of his roof which have caused his current issues, and presented solutions that we believe align with his expectations. Additionally, we discussed the correct incentives associated with his solar installation and clarified what he has received.
We are committed to supporting Mr. ******* and are confident in the resolution proposed. We remain available to assist him throughout his solar and roofing journey.Initial Complaint

We paid 50% down on 12/12/2023 for a home battery with an approximate start date of 2/28/2024 and completion date of 3/28/2024. At first, Trinity provided sporadic updates but by 8/24, they stopped returning calls in response to questions about the install and its status. After repeated calls, voicemails, texts, and emails to Trinity, we finally reached someone and were told we would receive regular updates (9/13). We heard that they were looking into our case but our questions went unanswered and phone calls went unreturned. We escalated again and were told that we would receive weekly updates. Our last weekly update from Trinity was on 11/1. We can share a full timeline of events if thats helpful. We understand that part of the problem is in the purview of our electric company and outside of Trinitys control but, given how overdue the project is, we would appreciate regular updates without repeated prodding until the project is completed.Business Response

We apologize for the length of time this has taken. The battery type, Duracell, is a new product that the permitting authority is not familiar with, and it took us much longer than normal to obtain their approval for installation. While we provided updates on this project through email and phone calls as recent as 11/15/24 and 11/26/24, we understand and empathize with the customer's frustration regarding the extended timeline and the gaps in communication during the process.
Through multiple iterations, our team worked with both the utility and the manufacturer to address the utility's requests and provide the required information to move the project forward. This involved several rounds of inquiries and follow-ups, many of which went unanswered by the utility for a significant length of time, further compounding the delays.
We are pleased to report that the required approvals have now been secured, and the project is ready to proceed to installation. Our team has reached out to the customer and set a date for the installation.Customer Answer

I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding the service I have received from Trinity Solar concerning the solar panel installation at my home, which was completed in December 2020.Despite a promising start, I encountered issues with the solar power system when it stopped functioning in September 2021. It was quite disappointing that I was not informed about the necessary upgrades to the inverters on the panels, information I had to seek out myself when I contacted your company in December 2023. This lack of communication has been frustrating, particularly since I rely on solar energy for a significant portion of my power needs. I went two years without solar energy, yet have been paying for the panels since 2020.Even after the necessary repairs to my service were made in 2024, my inquiries regarding the energy efficiency of the panels installedspecifically whether I am receiving the appropriate amount for my homes energy demandshave been largely ignored. This ongoing lack of response is concerning and reflects poorly on the service I expected from ************************* a customer, my expectations are for transparent communication as well as timely support regarding any issues with the service provided, both of which I feel have been lacking in my experience. I would like to request a thorough review of my case and would appreciate any information regarding the performance of my solar panel system in relation to the energy being produced and consumed.Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope to receive a prompt response to address my concerns. I look forward to working together toward a resolution.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because its disheartening that there are no new policies added to ensure that these mistakes of use not being monitored would happen again and knowing that Ill still need to pay for these panels that arent able to recieve a sufficient amount of energy are still disappointing. The resolution to our ordeal was to give a higher referral fee, but Im uncomfortable suggesting that another person pays for panels that may possibly not be worth in the long run due to what type of panels were provided or due to the company not having a monitoring system that would regulate if they work.

Ms. ******* entered into a solar finance agreement on August 25, 2020, and her solar system was successfully energized on January 19, 2021. Shortly after activation, Ms. ******* participated in an in-depth conversation with a Trinity Solar manager. During this discussion, we provided a detailed explanation of what to expect in terms of solar energy production and guidance on how to monitor her systems performance effectively, as the owner of her system.
To ensure transparency and convenience, Trinity Solar equipped Ms. ******* with the necessary tools to independently track her systems production. We also emphasized that, should any concerns or irregularities arise, she could notify us directly so we could promptly address any issues.

I opened a ticket for repair in May 2024. Got a call in June from ****. **** said all repairs were going to be covered by Trinity and a critter guard would be installed at no cost. Ive called several times leaving messages, talking to receptionist. I was assured by ******* she would send **** an email back in early September. I called 9/16, 9/23, 9/24, 9/25 and 10/10. I was informed by my contractor that the leaks are worsening and the wires to solar panels show signs of critters chewing the wires bare. Ive relayed that message to ******* on 10/10. Not one person has called me to remedy this. I even threatened court action the last time I called. Im disabled, I think theyre taking advantage of that issue and ignoring me. Im getting mold in my finished attic space. Not once would anyone give anyones last name either. Please help. Thank you, **** *******.Business Response

I have been contacted by someone in **********, I called them Thursday. They read where the cost is going to the theirs and the agent said she would call me back later in the afternoon. I heard no response from them. I terribly confused because so many different people at Trinity are involved. I do not ever have one point of contact. Its always a different person, who has to review everything. I believe they are stalling as they did for over 8 months. This ticket was opened in May, I got one call in June and that was the end of everything. Not til I complained to the BBB., did I get anyone to call, and now its always someone different every time.

I have spoken with the BBB directly and your agent there told me they have one agent you are working with. I do not speak with the same person twice its always someone different looking to clarify. We had Trinity install our solar panels in spring of 2020. Our only concern was if we needed our roof replaced. We knew the roof at that time was ***** years old and would need replacement within 10 years. Our salesman said not a problem we will do a removal and reinstall when need for $795. I was fine with that. So, we continued with the processes. Now I am in need of a new roof and Trinity more than replacing the roof to just remove them. So, the salesman lied to me. I would never have gotten solar had I known. This is absolutely unacceptable. And their customer service was no help. So, any possible savings on my electric bill will be completely wiped out by the removal charge. Stay away from Trinity.Business Response

We had a fire that the fire **** said seemed was caused by the new electrical lines Trinity installed. Our insurance company paid for repair but didn't continue the testing to conclusively show the cause because the amount of damage didn't warrant it. On initial convo Trinity said they were contacting their insurance and would get back to us. Three weeks later and no returned calls despite numerous attempts they told us we would have to pay over 200/hr to have their electrical removed for the repairs. Then told us they are just the installers and we can't prove their wiring caused the fire and for three months were paying their solar that we can't useBusiness Response

I live where the town hall has given Trinity Solar permits to go door to door to solicit. They have been relentless here for the past few years. Often coming to my house multiple times in a week. We have a NO SOLICITING sign up and they ignore it every single time. The last straw came this past week when they showed up at 7:30PM knocking on our door, again ignoring the no soliciting sign. They woke up my sick children who were in bed sleeping and disrupted my entire house. They were pushy and wouldn't leave. We are at a loss as to what to do, they ignore our no soliciting sign and our requests to not be on their list. It's harassment at this point. We have video from our ring camera of them coming here at 730pm on 9/25/24, our town has a rule on the permits no door to door after 6pm. The frustrating part here is a few things we have asked to be removed from lists to knock on our door and we HAVE A NO SOLICITING sign up that is quite visible and ignored every time. Per the ********************************* - administers Connecticut's Home Solicitation Sales Act. Sellers who violate the Act may face fines up to $500, imprisonment up to 90 days, and penalties under the Unfair Trade Practices Act. I have also filed a complaint with the ****************************** as well as the *********************************. Something needs to be done to stop the harassment and non-stop soliciting. If we were to ever get solar, it would NEVER be Trinity Solar.Business Response

Trinity Solar installed my solar panels in April 2023. Prior to installation, I asked what would happen if we ever needed a new roof. The salesperson said that need was very unlikely given the age of our roof, but that the cost to remove/reinstall the panels "was very reasonable". I should have pressed him for specifics in writing, but didnt.A Trinity team evaluated our roof's condition and designed the system. The roof was only 12-yrs-old and earned a rubber stamp. The initial system design was strange due to the 6 roof vents they had to work around. To be clear, there was not and never had been a single vent on that roof! After confirming the absence of vents, they redesigned to our satisfaction. I relayed that in the past someone suggested the pitch of my roof called for a rolled roof. Trinity agreed, said they should have picked up on that, and redesigned the system again. On install day, the workers drilled holes in my roof and THEN remeasured. The area was smaller than they thought and could not handle the designed array. They did a 3rd redesign and moved the extra panels to a portion of the roof that does not get nearly as much sun. I felt pressured to sign the addendum since there were already holes in my roof. Ultimately the system I got was much smaller than planned, but they reduced the price and I felt ************* forward 1 year: my roof has deteriorated rapidly, leading to black mold in the bedroom. A 3rd party roofer identified several preexisting issues that Trinity failed to catch. Trinity showed me a photo of the roof from last year to prove the condition was fine. It clearly showed bubbled and lifting shingles, not common in such a young roof. Trinity is now charging $9,350 to remove and reinstall the panels, blaming the very high price on"inflation" despite it being only one year later. They offered a 50% discount if I hired them to do the roof too, but their quote was double that of other contractors, and I do not trust them to do the job.Business Response
