WARNING!! Do not purchase a puppy from this breeder.Although they are known for breeding physically sound & show-quality Basenjis, the puppies that are deemed not good enough for the dog show circuit and left behind, kept in a pen with little or no interaction with humans or other dogs. They are just given ************ & left alone.I am a professional dog trainer with over 20 years of experience and my clients purchased (for $3,000) a 6-mo old male puppy from this breeder. This puppy displays many of the characteristics of a very fearful, traumatized dog. He has had "panic attacks" when left alone in his pen and will destroy everything in his path. He is terrified of almost all people and other dogs. He will not walk on a leash and seems unable to learn even basic obedience cues. He has often tried to bite the owners and has also bitten things in their home, such as blankets, ***************** etc. They would like to return the puppy to the breeder since they have only had him for about 1 1/2 weeks, but when they called **************** she immediately began a heated discussion with them about not giving any refunds, even though my clients had not asked for one. She did not ask about how the puppy was doing and seemed uninterested in resolving the problem. In my experience, this is one of the worst cases of emotional & social neglect of a young dog. It is very likely that any shelter would need to euthanize the dog unless they have staff who are experienced in treating extremely traumatized dogs. There is no excuse for breeding show dogs and then ignoring and neglecting the ones that "don't make the grade". People who love the basenji breed and like show dogs, need to know the cruel treatment of the dogs left behind.DISGUSTING EXCUSE FOR A BUSINESS!!
