They came in offering business consultation. an employee named Barkley came in and spent a day with me doing a fee business review. He recommended that I listen to a business consultant. He informed me that entertaining them might cost me as much as $10,000, which I agreed to. The company sent out two consultants who spent 2.5 days pitching us on value of their services. They tried to pitch us on a project that would cost upwards of $50-$150 thousand. I declined and they let me with a bill of $22,401.10 for listening to their sales pitch. I was shocked. I feel like this was scheme, and non-transparent business practice. It was like the time-share pitches minus the free hotel and dinner and minus the time-share - just the bill.

Global Resources regrets the apparent misunderstanding that Mr. ******* is under. Mr. ******* agreed to meet with our representative for the purpose of having his business operations analyzed. Mr. ******* executed a contract for consulting services and agreed to pay for those services. In accordance with our contractual obligations, we sent our personnel to Mr. *******’s place of business. In every consulting engagement a scope of work is developed with the assistance of the business owner. This Process defines the work to be done and typically takes two days to complete. Global Resources does not send any consultant to a client that has not executed a contract. Our process is totally transparent, clearly stating the hours needed to complete Mr. *******’s stated goals and objectives and the cost. Our agreement with Mr. ******* allowed him to cancel our services at any time, being responsible to pay for those services through the end of that same day. At the present time Mr. ******* has refused to honor his commitment to pay for the consulting services. Global Resources will attempt to achieve a mutually acceptable resolution to this matter.

      Better Business Bureau®:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********.  I disagree to their written response as it was never made clear to me that the consultation would take multiple days or that the potential maximum cost was a daily rate that would surpass the potential maximum price of $10,000 that I agreed to when I agreed to meet with their consultants - that was what was not made clear to me.   After discussing my issue with Terrance from Client Services at Global Resources, they have shown empathy for my dispute and we have agreed that I will be billed and pay for the $10,000 that I initially understood to be the maximum cost of the consultation.  I find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

      Regards,

      ******** *******

7/28/2022 A company came into our business by the name of ***** ******* with ************* *********** ******** ** ***, with the intention of setting up Estate Planning/Tax Planning, Will and Trust and business Consultation. After ***** convinced us that we could benefit from their professional experience in these areas We paid $1300.00 for him to bring on a 2ndperson/business Analyst (**** ********) as well as ***** ******** ********* for the tax advisory, valuation and estate planning, $5845.00. After payment they immediately sent out ***** ******(project manager) and ****** ****(Senior business consultant) They came to the conclusion our business was struggling and needed a line of credit immediately to pay for their services and to help our business succeed they secured a loan that we now learned is a predatory loan with a very high interest($174,000 with interest $231,000) with $3640.00per week repayment. Over the course of 4-5 weeks of so called consultation and a cash management system and a 2:1 return guarantee on our investment upon completion. After a few weeks in we were struggling to pay our bills and vendors and payroll because of the repayment and their fees, all for ****** to say we are just fine. When the money ran out and the business is flat on its back ****** left to never to return. Found out that *** is also Global Resources LLC, ***** *** *** *** ******** All the same people who SCAMMED us out of $231,000 that we are struggling to repay. We have reached out to Global Resources,*** and *** ******* and we get no answers but lies and excuses and or silence. We have NOTHING to show for their Services but lies. We have asked for our money back for services not rendered or completed and they said no. The facts surrounding ********** consulting engagement are significantly different then the allegations made in their complaint. An initial sales appointment scheduled for 7/28/2022 to discuss the services Global Resources provides to business owners did not produce the consulting engagement. A subsequent meeting scheduled on 8/12/2022 met with the same result. On 8/18/2022 ******** agreed to have their business analyzed. The purpose of the analysis was to determine if there were any areas of concern that could be addressed by our consultants. After the analysis was completed, ******** elected to engage our consultants to address those areas that were identified during the analysis. The consulting engagement began on 8/24/2022. In addition to consulting services, ******** contracted with ***** to provide a strategic tax report. The fees for these services were $131,250.00 and $17,537.00 respectively, as clearly stated in the contracts. It is also important to understand that the sales representative does not charge a fee for his services. The analysis was billed at $1,300.00 for his review of ********’s business. With ********** approval Global Resources dispatched a Project Manager and a Business Consultant. ***** sent a Tax Consultant.
******** participated in the development of the scope of work that was prepared and utilized to guide the consulting engagement. Each week during the engagement a review of the work accomplished was presented to ********. At no time during the engagement did ******** notify Global Resources personnel of their dissatisfaction.
Global Resources maintains relationships with many unrelated professionals and financial institutions. In ********** case they were in need of an infusion of capital. Global Resources personnel referred them to several companies to obtain financing. Global Resources has no ownership or financial interests in any of these financial institutions. As everybody knows, the terms and conditions of any financing obtained is documented and explained before a client accepts any funds. ******** was fully advised and has agreed to the financing terms.
Global Resources has been in communication with ******** on many occasions since the engagement concluded. We always endeavor to provide continuing support for our clients. ******** is not entitled to a refund in any amount, because Global Resources has accomplished all scope of work contracted to.  Global Resources is willing to assist and support the work provided.
******** has our contacts. Please be free to reach out at any time during business days and hours Mon-Fri 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

I was contacted out of the blue by a representative of Global Resources LLC who told me that they had seen my company profile online and had a representative in the area and they would like to present a no committment offer to us about how to scale our business up to the next level. I agreed to meet with the representative the next day who seemed very professional and who presented the company as a wealth of knowledge on how to take a small business to a larger scale. He explained that business consulting was expensive but that their company promised a 2:1 return on investment and provided a committment to maintain a partnership with their clients - "Global Resources staff will monitor the clients progress on a monthly basis and provide assistance, free of charge, during the next year". Long story short and $32,000 poorer we have not been able to get anyone to return a call, there is NO ongoing support, the software that was supposedly prepared especially for us does not work. We have called on multiple occaisions and have not had anybody call us back, it is impossible to email since none of the consultants have legitimate Global Resources email addresses, and phone numbers go directly to voicemail. What we have basically in hand are a few sheets of butchers paper. Attached please see invoices showing charges for consultation fees and per diem as agreed, but also airline tickets, car rental that were not part of the original contract.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: ********************* never called ****** as he stated in his response - see the attached phone logs as evidence. Responding now and saying that they will work with us 4 months after everything went awry is not acceptable.

We are in financial trouble - largely because we committed to a loan (recommended and brokered by Globeal Resources) that we cannot aford to pay.

      Sincerely,

      *******************
