FRAUD!!! SCAM!!! CROOKS!!! About 10 years ago ( or more), we attended a presentation for VOYAGER VACATION CLUB - COCANUT CLUB VACATIONS or whatever the business name of the day is. We were MISLED by their fraudulent presentation and made the mistake of joining. We initially paid the membership via credit card that evening. When I got home that night I went on-line to research the "benefits" and discovered that VOYAGER VACATION CLUB was **!!! It's been so long ago, but I'm certain that I contacted my CC company to cancel the transaction the next morning, and contacted VOYAGER to cancel the membership. Aside from rcvg a "Welcome packet" including a catalog of destinations and properties, I NEVER heard from them again. I had completely forgotten about the issue until I rcv'd a letter a couple of months ago stating I owed past due fees. I don't recall the amount, but it was less than $1000. The letter threatened to report me to the IRS and more if I didn't pay. It's been over 10 years since I canceled, but the "ALLEDGED" amount due is only a few hundred dollars??? I called the number provided in the notice for VOYAGER VACATION CLUB member services. After a brief explanation/argument I was told the membership was never canceled and I had to pay. After expressing my disapproval the representative hung up on me. I have continued to receive harrassing notifications from VOYAGER VACATION CLUB, so I contacted BBB. They informed me that the phone number provided was for a different company called COCANUT CLUB VACATIONS. I also read multiple reviews and complaints that mirrored my experience. These people are crooks and scammers. I will NOT pay them ONE DAMN CENT for a bogus service that I NEVER used, but I WILL take legal action 8f they continue to threatene and harass me. Many years ago, when we resided in ********, we attended a Coconut Club presentation. Regretfully, we paid them $5,000 for a membership to recieve discounted vacation deals. Almost immediately, we discovered that the firm was a scam. We were consistantly able to secure better, cheaper vacation deals on our own. WE NEVER USED THEIR SERVICE. For the first couple years we called various times attempting to cancel our membership but the representatives never followed through with our requests. After those initial years, the company appeared to go dark and communications were not possible. Now, after more than 15 years, they have resurfaced and are sending collection letters and messages, stating we owe back annual fees for services we did not, nor could use because they were dark. It is apparent the master company was sold to a broker and they are now attempting to collect funds for services not rendered. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY...IT IS A SCAM! I was instructed to email a letter to cancel 15 years ago. I received a letter saying I owe 2000. Then proceeded to tell me I could pay half to opt out. NO. Please help!

(I copied someone else's complaint because we experienced the exact same thing they did.)

We purchased a membership in Coconut Club (now Travel Center) in 2015. We tried to use them for planning a trip, and their costs were more than what we found on our own. At that time we canceled the membership. We heard nothing from them until some time in 2020 or 2021, when they insisted we owed them for our membership for 2017-2018-2019-2020-2021-2022. I responded to them in February 2021, but have heard nothing, except for the fact that they keep sending notices, and say we owe them a total of $1,353.00, with threats that they will turn us over to collections. They are a scam, and I refuse to pay them.

I paid all of the original fees. After time, due to increasing debilitating health issues i wrote to them ceasing membership, not wanting to renew. At that time there was no balance due from me. My wrangling with them has gone on for over two years. I have notified them that due to some severe health issues with both myself and spouse that restrict travel. I have corresponded with them the last two years explaining our situation, to no avail. I only receive threatening letters saying they will now turn me over to the IRS unless I pay them $398.00 to settle my "obligation" to them. This company is a sham business that simply seeks ways to suck money from a totally disabled person. They are the worst kind of business for they only want my money and have no conscience i obtaining it!

As seniors interested in other travel options we were attracted to this club because we were told there were no annual fees unless we used the service. (and that we would only be obligated for the year that we book travel) Within the cancellation window we looked at their destinations and quickly realized it was not worth the membership. We called to cancel and again were coerced into keeping the membership for a reduced price...big mistake! We never used the service and let it ride because of being told we owed nothing unless we used it. As with the other reviews we heard nothing from them for several years before they started calling, mailing and emailing informing us we owed them for years of back fees. We said at that time to cancel our membership and were told for several hundred more dollars we could get a mutual release. We told them we would not pay another cent as being seniors on fixed income we were being extorted. So now, as with everyone else we get threats from Coconut Club, Travel Center, Corporate Consulting Services and now FSA. This company should really be investigated for their sales tactics. They target seniors with promises of great savings on vacations and at quite a heavy upfront price. When you find out you've been duped and don't use it they harass you for years of back fees. I assume they are successful with scaring many seniors who pay the ridiculous amounts of money out of fear of being turned over to collection. Don't be tempted. They offer no deals you can't get for free online or by using ******, ****, ****** all without harassment. I too give them 1 star because I have to, if there were lemons I would give them 10.

Members purchased in 2015 and paid the annual fees until 2020, in which the dues were paid by check via USPS. There has never been any travel requests placed on members part, stating the prices were not worth the membership is a false statement. Nor has there been a request to close by phone, email or mail. Please contact our office either pay fees up to current to use the benefits or to sell/transfer their membership themselves just as their contract states with our approval of that sell/transfer or the other option is to contact our office to reach a fair settlement agreement to properly close/cancel through a Mutual Release document which breaks the current agreement then having no further cost or obligations.

True, we bought in 2015 and at the sales presentation we both needed to be present with our respective ID's in order to buy. We quickly realized it was a big mistake, so we canceled within the contractual timeframe. One of the sales associates called and spoke with my wife and convinced her to keep the contract at a reduced price. I was not present and as far as far as I am concerned this is a non-binding contract. We purchased initially because their sales pitch was that there are no annual fees unless you use the service. We already own a timeshare, why would we pay for a travel service that is going to charge aa annual fee whether we use it or not? We have used travel agents in the past for vacations but I don't send them a hundred bucks every year. As far as paying dues until 2020 that is false. My wife was contacted by phone and told we owed past dues. She argued that there were not supposed to be annual dues and wanted the membership closed. The woman told her we were behind and if she didn't pay we would be turned over to collection so my wife was going to mail a check. I told her that was a lie and we owe them nothing but apparently they coerced her into mailing them more money. We have responded by both email and phone to close our account or membership, whatever they want to call it and they want money to do that as well. They have about $2500 that we were foolish enough to let them keep after we canceled in the first place and subsequently never used the service. One would think they would be happy with that. They don't do anything for members such as promotions or new benefits so what would an annual fee pay for? They are on about the fourth company name since we got doctrinated, I presume that is so the next road show victims won't be able to ****** them and see their awful reputation and reviews.

This company is a scam. After paying $5000. to join, they want you to pay a yearly fee of $149.00. After a few years, they start sending you letters, email, calling you saying you owe 5 years of payments, because you didn't ask for some mutual agreement letter to get out of your contract. They say they have been trying to contact your for years...a lie. Now, that you owe them 5 years of membership, they are sending a letter every week, calling you and emailing you. They NEVER did this before. If I had known that I was responsible for each year, I would have cancelled immediately. Seems like they let you slide as a COURTESY, and then when the amount is over a period of several years, they are on you like flies. Then, you can't get out of it unless you give them a credit card to charge and sign the mutual agreement statement. They don't want to make a deal...they are thieves and the people that work for that company should be ashamed of themselves. They made me put a star rating, but frankly, they are not worth it.

We have received a letter that lists the phone number for Coconut Club Vacatoons, but the letter does not show as Coconut Club Vacations, but as Sea Land Travel. We paid money to join, but never used their services. They have stated they have sent emails and billed us three times per year which is not true. We feel as if we have been scammed and no longer wish to be associated to this club nor do we feel that any dues are owed.

We have also been harassed by rude phone calls from Maranda and emails and letters stating a audit of our past due account. We have NEVER used the Coconut Club and never will. We are a retired couple living on a fixed income and with many doctor bills. Now with the price of inflation and gas we're expected to pay for a service we never used? There are many other people that have issues with this company from the comments that I read on this BBB page, please investigate them. Thank you!
