      Hello I am staying at Siegel Select in **************** at ********************************.. I need the phone number to Corporate and havent been able to get into contact with anyone in corporate or whoever I need to complain to please about the maintenance men at my location discovering black mold in my room which is directly next to the laundry room where there was and still is a big leak that caused the mold. They took out a LARGE PORTION of my wall NINE days ago and left it open exposing me and my service animal to the mold spores which I feel are beginning to affect my breathing and headaches. I am flabbergasted theyve even let it go this long and have yet to come back in since opening the wall up on April 10th. Today is April 19th. I have multiple pictures for proof. (which by the way they wore masks while in my room doing so, and I asked for one of their masks and they told me no). Not to mention my A/C unit has a major leak that floods my room so badly it causes all my clothes at the bottom of my laundry room to now also be covered in mold. They came in one time and drilled a huge hole in the side of it and said okay its fixed. Its so not fixed. I barely even use it because its so much work cleaning up after using it and its hot in ******. I had to purchase a $150 hard surface floor steam cleaner & a $60 ShopVac just to keep up with all the leaking/flooding problems Ive experienced. I moved in on Halloween and within the first month the room above me flooded causing my ceiling to have huge water bubbles which bursted then it was like a heavy rain that would come and go ALL OVER my room for a week until they finally fixed that. My refrigerator keep leaking randomly causing huge puddles all around my fridge which took them 3 months to finally fix a few days ago. They came in to replace the fridge and just totally ignored the fact my walls still wide open exposing BLACK MOLD and HUGE cockroaches have been crawling out of it. Theyre absolutely disgusting and terrifying. They tried claiming I smoke in my room for lighting inscents in my room to try and cover the muggy smell. My mattress is supposed to be a queen and its a full and is also so flat and hard that when I saw all those new queen size mattresses come I asked if everyone was receiving one they told me no not me and I sleep on the love seat most of the time due to the bed being so terrible it kills my back to the point when I wake up I cant even stand up or walk. Sorry its a lot to say its been a nightmare and I cant take it anymore. Please help me

      The items on this complaint have been addressed and they are being moved to another unit until this is resolved. A/C unit and fridge were both removed and new one were provided.  Hole in the wall is being addressed along with all leaks.

      To Whom It May ************* am writing this to let you know I accidentally wrote the wrong amount of money I have spent staying at Siegel Select. I have spent $15,000 and I accidentally input $25,000. Can you please correct that for me. They have fixed my A/C unit since I have submitted this complaint. However when they removed the old one there was TONS of dust, dirt and who knows whatever else was in the slimy chunky looking nasty thick build up and they didnt even bother to clean it all out before putting in the new one in which isnt in my opinion the most sanitary way to go about it. However, I am so thankful that they did replace it so I wont constantly have huge puddles of water from the ac unit going to my laundry area and all under my bed. Attached are photos of the mold I found caused by my dirty laundry bags being constantly soaked with water at the bottom.

      Yeah we have been moved to another room while they work on it however its been a lot of back and forth headache causing drama. The regional manager is whom I have been listening to. He said grab a few things I need and stay in another room and hopefully within a week it will done and I can go back into my regular room.  The new room Im staying in is much smaller and since Ill be here for a week i should be paying the small room price and the front desk told me no I am to pay the price of my regular room Im just staying here temporarily. So I called the regional manager and told hun I dont think thats fair and he handled it immediately. Which i appreciated. However the front desk and ** keep telling me to do things differently than the ** is telling me to do and its frustrating and wasting time. The ** told me he waived my late fee when I wasnt even late I paid later because his staff supposedly didnt know how to charge me for the room I was staying in temporarily at a cheaper rate than my usual took. Which isnt a big deal but now that I have already been out of the room for 2 days hes telling me I need to get ALL of my belongings out of the room and put into my temporary room and he told me his boss told me to do so that way which is untrue. Not to mention this temporary room is so small I already cant barely move around and thats with less than half of my stuff in here. Theres no way all of my belongings will fit in here. Plus I cannot even access my regular room without calling after hours and having them physically come and open my door for me. They made me a key finally yesterday to my old room that worked for one hour and then no longer worked anymore. I have missed 4 days total of work over all this nonsense. Like I mentioned before I have spent over $200 ok cleaning devices to deal with the mess. I have yet to ask for anything for free or compensation but I am to the point where I feel l like i deserve a free week or something this is just getting ridiculous. Its isnt a game this is my life and they just treat me like its so unimportant to them. I dont want to be ***** and have to call the regional manager every 5 min even though he is the only one who gets anything done but the rest of the employees here I feel shouldnt even be employed with this company because their customer service is less than mediocre. They have no sense of urgency. Nor do they take the tile or put any effort in at all to ensure customers that we are valued and the thousands of dollars spent here wasnt a mistake.  They just want you to pay pay pay. They dont want to he bothered with anything else except for making sure they get their rent on time. Its disappointing

      I ********************* the Regional Manager have contacted her and we have everything straightened out.  Once the work is completed in her original room we will notify her so she can move back to her original room. We understand this was of no fault of hers and we are getting the leaks fixed but needed all her belonging out of the unit in order to get everything fixed.  Once this is all done we will make every effort to make sure she is good with everything.

      There is a leak they refuse to fix. I've notified them several times including the damages that are further happening. After months they still haven't had one person come to look or fix the issue. Its caused mold to grow everywhere. We've had to rip up the carpet and underlayment ourselves to get worms, mites, and black mold out of the main toddler area. We now can not wash our hands after using the restroom or the water leaks everywhere and we have been through 3 shop vacs all ready. With no money to buy another. They need to fix the leak behind the wall and under the sink. Along with the damaged walls that had damage when we first moved in but have gotten much worse since. They said a repair guy would fix the wall but he only added a silicone that didn't help the wall in the long run. Only a short term fix and not a resolution.

      MI have heard back from the General Manager ******. She said maintenance would come fix it but unfortunately because we didn't wait for someone on their side to rip the carpets out we are left to the costs of replacement and repairs and to ********* to her for anything else going forward.  Maintenance had come only to cover up the things needing to be fixed and left us for more than a week without being able to bathe or utilize the only bathroom in the unit. The maintenance worker found the cause of damage behind the shower wall a bad pin hole leak spraying intensly. And for who knows how long? It caused flies of all kinds to come, worms, mold and mildew, exposed my family to it all, damaged the carpets and most personal belongings along with our health taking damage. We have two babies and two older kids. I feel their actions aren't right and that they should have put carpet and bathroom flooring in. ore Information...

      I have lived on this property for over a year (dec.22 2022) I was forced to move after unfortunately losing my child and landing in financial hardship. I have put in MULTIPLE maintenance requests since I've moved in and NONE absolutely NONE have been worked on. My bathroom is full of leaks. The shower leaks into the downstairs neighbors unit which we've both informed the front office of My bathroom sink is leaking and causing MOLD to grow under the sink(I have a 3 year old and a 7 month old)I've asked for a someone to come look at the refrigerator this property provides because it's shutting on and off leaving my food to spoil and insulin needing to be tossed out I've asked for a simple light bulb change and it's like pulling teeth to get that done The stairs leading to my unit is a DEATH TRAP The steps wobble and tilt in as you step on them. Me and my elderly neighbor have put in MULTIPLE requests for the steps to be fixed and still nothing has been done The regional manager seems more concerned about handing out $25 fines for my flower pots outside than actually fixing anything (maybe needs to be trained a bit more in professionalism)I hope my complaint doesn't result in retaliation.

      MoreA continuation of my last report The trim the connects the kitchen to the bedroom is lose and exposing nails used to pin the carpet down. The caulking around the bathtub has been cracked and peeling since move in and nothing has been done. There's gang and illegal drug activity that has been ignored and I also have pictures of other tenants with trash outside their apartments for days as well as chairs and they haven't been fined AT ALL so I'm assuming that the management picks and chooses who is fined. I've been here over a year and I have put my plants out every morning since i moved in and I wasn't charged until now? That's odd the 2 brief interactions I've had with the manager he was rude and brief which was unwarranted and that I didn't appreciate There is a bug (*****)issue but since I have children and I don't want them around harmful chemicals so I've been doing bug maintenance myself No closet doors. Which I've asked for so my children can't get into the contents of the closet There has been a lot of general maintenance on my end that has been neglected by this property which is ridiculous. I need these issues as well as the fine I was charged addressed without retaliation that this property is known for. I've been paying almost 800 every 2 weeks for over a year. It's only right that these problems get fixed Information...

      Dear BBB, 

                     Please accept my late reply to this complaint as it seems prior correspondence was not received. In looking over the work order history from this unit, it seems a work order was placed in September of 2023 for a possible leak in the shower but the work order was closed with no further work orders being placed with the office staff. I will be dispatching the property manager to the unit ASAP as well as reaching out to the resident personally today. I will ensure this matter is looked into and addressed ASAP. As far as the violations, I do show multiple violations issued for items left outside on the walkway. This creates a tripping hazard for staff and neighbors and is against our policies to have anything left outside the unit as we are a weekly apartment and not a traditional apartment so there are no private balconies or outside areas were items are permitted to be left.

      My son is being denied access to pick up his packages with his name . But he was allowed to be issued a key . A lot of things arent enforced such as pet p*** problem but they make it a hassle for mail to be picked up by my son . They advertised they have a basketball court . But they have nothing . I dont agree with the pricing if what is advertised doesnt come along with it .

      My contract says I have to stay here for a minimum of 30 days however, I pay weekly yet the manager did rent me not the unit that she showed me but a different unit which was filthy. The windows completely broken, so I hope human can fall out. Ive expressed my concerns about it. The sink is broken, there is mold growing,the AC doesnt work, also she comes in the room when Im at work and doesnt even notify me. My stuff is gone missing theres just a lot of other things that happen around here and it seems like Im the problem because Im not part of the problem. Then after a week she said she wouldnt be extending my stay and she wouldnt tell me why I work and Im not here half the time so it seems extremely unfair especially after *** expressed my concerns about all of the maintenance request And she said she would be locking my things outside with the police. It makes absolutely no sense to me how she did take my money and then not even acknowledge my security concerns with the window and other maintenance request and then just wants to lock me out while Im at work Ive tried to reach to Corporate and left messages, messages and complaints and I havent heard anything back .

      Good afternoon. I'm *********************** the regional for the property located at ********************************************************. ****************** claims that she was shown a room and then giving another unit which is not correct and if need be a statement from the *** can be submitted. On 11/3/23 approx 9pm she was witnessed by our CPO *********************** hanging out the window (I submitted picture) ******* asked the tenant to go back into the room and when she did not he felt he needed to call ***************** for her safety (I have included our CPO report, stating specifics) police did arrive but said they didn't have enough cause to enter the unit and ****************** would not open the door. Not even an hour later the ************* were on site again stating that this time a neighbor called to complain but again police couldn't do anything and stated maybe we can evict her.  
      11/6/23 I received a message from our corporate office stating that this tenant called and wanted a call back to which after speaking to the manager ************************* of ****** I called ****************** at 12:55pm and spoke to her for about 4 minutes stating that due to the police presence and her hanging out the window that we are choosing to no longer do business with her, she can leave on her own or the Sheriff will once we serve her with a 3-day nuisance.  Today 11/6/23 was the 1st time ever hearing about her water not being in on her unit to which that is what she stated to our corporate office but here it states her "sink" is broken, and I have included that as proof and about her window being broken, she never stated anything about the unit being dirty or a problem with the ac not working. After seeing the pictures, she submitted all it shows is the window open to which she left open and the heating/cooling air handler to which she has torn off the control board/panel since it did not look that way when we rented that unit, we would never sell a unit with an air handler that didn't work. ****************** only moved in on 10/30/23 and I have no knowledge of anyone being in her unit or that things of hers are missing. 
      I was very honest to ****************** as to why we wanted her to leave, and it was due to her behavior and because of the police having to be called 2x in the same night. At no time are we retaliating against her when it comes to maintenance request, we get maintenance request frequently and it is part of our job to insure everything is working in the tenant's units. ***************** has not allowed us to do the repairs as of today 11/6/23 again being the 1st we have heard of this. She states we took her money, but she stayed for the full week and today 11/6/23 is when her rent was due again and she made all these claims but again this came after the manager asked her to leave. ***************** stated she contacted corporate, and she is still waiting for a call back well again that is false, and I have attached my call log so that you can see I indeed to did phone ******************* 
      We will be serving ****************** a 3 day nuisance once our legal department drafts up the notice on 11/7/23.

      None of my pictures or reports will allow me to send, I tried to send it as zip files but that too didn't work. How can I send you this?

      September 29th 2023 I rented a room apartment 78th at Siegel suites ***** 3. When I got there to check in the apartment was full of powders substances all over wasn't clean poor girl was trying to clean it I helped her not knowing the power was to do with bugs bed bugs and then knew that they had ******** I want a full refund and I want a full refund on all my belongings that I have in there that is most likely infested how do I get this problem solved ASAP I want a full refund and I want to know if they're going to accommodate me in any other state not there somewhere else.

      I've stayed at Siegel Suites for about a year beginning in June of 2022. During that time I've had multiple issues mainly the attitude of the manager one *********************. I've had food spoil because the fridge never worked the entire time that I was staying there. The biggest loss that I've had was my PS4 being damaged due to the building having a really bad bug infestation. I can't even get it to turn on and to make matters worse I can't even get anyone to diagnose the problem because it was damaged by a bug infestation.

      My girlfriend and I are staying at the Siegel suites on flamingo and ********** center drive her name *************************** is on the lease we've been here for 4 weeks a total of 1 month we planned on staying at least two or three months this morning her car was towed because there was no sticker on it I guess she just was a t-bone to the car is messed up a little bit but we had no place to park in and we're paying to stay here so her car was parked here they then towed the car what action do I have here like and they're not want to give the car back they're wanting us to pay money to get the car out I'm obviously going to get the car out but I need to get this resolved because our car her car should have never been towed

      Dear BBB, 

                  Thank you for giving us a chance to research, review and respond to this complaint. The property manager did speak to ******************** on 7/13/2023. The car was tagged by our tow company for not having plates. Whren the tow company tags a car, they place a bright green sticker on the driver window showing intent to tow the car in 48 hours and directing the person to the office. When the tow company came to the office over 48 hours later to inquire about permission to tow the car, we did ***** it as no one had come to discuss the car with us. With no plates/proof of registration, no contact, and the car not moving, the car was assumed to be abandoned. Per page 3 of the signed rental agreement, "Vehicles lacking current registration or parked illegally in a red zone or handicap space will be subject to towing at the owner's expense. Vehicle repairs are not permitted anywhere on the property. Vehicles must be in good condition and cannot be stored. Vehicles that are in disrepair and/or not moved on a regular basis will be towed."

                  After the car was towed, the resident did come to the office. She admitted the car was her girlfriend's, who is not registered to the unit, and admitted the car had no plates. She did state she had paperwork in the glovebox, though. The manager called the manager of the tow company and negotiated that the resident received a discount on the on tow, which was agreed upon. ******************** was then informed of the conversation and advised the quicker she gets her car, the less expensive it would be. 

                  In conclusion, while we do empathize with ************************ situation, we find the tow was lawful according to our rental agreement and cannot approve a refund at this time. We are happy that we were able to assist her by getting a discount applied to the tow.

      Good afternoon. As stated in the prior correspondence, this was a legal tow on private property in accordance to the move-in agreement that was signed. By the tenant's own admission, all documentation was in their glovebox and not displayed. They did not respond to the tow notice that was placed prior to tow, as they were given proper notice of intent to tow. The manager did negotiate a discount for them to pick up the car, but we are now weeks after the fact and the tenant has decided not to pick up the car. They have made no further correspondence on the matter to the office either. The car remains their responsibility to retrieve.

      I have been calling the ************ site since April 2023. I have been told we will have something available in 2 weeks, and she took my name and phone number. I finally went on June 2 in person and spoke with the person at the front desk, who had 2 girls at the desk she was laughing and joking with, explained my situation and she said she would have something available by the 17th when we had to be in there and took my name and number again. As we were leaving, a comment was made about no white people were allowed in there. Racial discrimination at its finest. I called the **************** today to speak with someone at Corporate, and ****** took my name and information and stated someone from Corporate would call me in ***** hours. Later this afternoon, the lady from the Columbia site called me and I told her again I needed a place by the 17th and was told that was impossible. When I called the **************** back and asked ****** if I could speak to someone who could handle the situation, she immediately told me that she was the only person I could speak with. I asked for her Supervisor, and she got a MAJOR attitude and told me no, she was the only one I could speak with. Yes, I called her a *****, but I am angry and stressing about being homeless here soon. As for the lady customer service person you have in Columbia, she has no customer service skills. I could do her job better, and would love the opportunity to do so.

      ********************* along with her husband ************************* ******* were placed on our Do not rent list back in August of 2020 for violating our pet policy. They had 3 Pit Bulls and we ended our business relationship with them at that time.  I spoke with ********************* back around the 9th of June and explained this to her. I let her know that she can not stay at any Siegel location do to this.
