I purchased a quarter window online. It reads that someone will call when it is ready. This was on 06/06/2024. I went to the business in ********* the next day and was told they couldn't have it ready till the fallowing Monday. I allowed for more time in hopes there would be no problems and returned 06/14/2024. Was told they had to wait for another company to come and extract the glass(same excuse as used last visit.)..I went home and made several attempts to reach someone and was put on hold twice, ignored until the phone disconnected. I sent emails as stated on the website with zero response. attempted to chat to no a vale.

I received a call from the company and seemed eager to resolve the issue.  I was notified if the early afternoon I could pick up the product.  All went well and I have my product and am happy with it

Date of Transaction: 06/16/22 Amount paid: 3,400. One deposit made of 500$ and vehicle paid in full with remainder 2,900$ Business provided: Faulty Vehicle with illegal smog pass, Check engine light on same day of purchase. Matt M******** Manager at Store 9 did not even let me test drive vehicle before buying, I was okay with that because he is my boss and I didn't think to much of it. But he promised he had to fix it first due to the car having no brakes, once he fixed the brakes I found it weird that he still would not let me test drive the vehicle. I was promised a great car with no check engine light on and light came on right after they smoged the car at USA auto, I asked if he did a illegal smog because how is it possible for them to give me a passed **** certificate but the check engine light is on, he told me before he had an illegal smog guy and if I wanted to do one on my other car for 500$, all I did was ask if he could fix the vehicle so I wouldnt have to make it a bigger issue. Matt M******** B&R manager gave me the around for 2 weeks straight saying he would see what he can do to fix it. After giving him 15 days of time to fix it I finally asked Matt if he can fix the car because I dont want a refund I want the car fixed like he promised. He said he was trying to order parts to fix the car but got caught by his bosses so he had to stop, I told him I had no problem making sure his bosses of B&R auto wreck really don't want to fix the car for me. Matt M******** said theres nothing he can do because his bosses won't allow him to fix my car. I told him that I was a great employee that goes to work everyday and he shouldn't be treating me that way, not a professional way to do business and I really hope nobody else from the public tries to come by a car here, because I would encourage them not to. Nature of dispute: For them to fix the car "Matt M******** stated B&R cannot refund or fix vehicle because my bosses said so" Account number: XXXXXX

      Business Response

      Date: 09/05/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/07/25) */ In early Jun the customer expressed interest in the 2008 ****. I gave him a price for the vehicle which he agreed to. At that time he was informed that all of our vehicle sales are sold as is with no warranty written or implied. The customer put a $500 deposit down to hold the vehicle until he was able to get the rest of the agreed purchase price of $3400 after taxes and title transfer and I agreed that we would hold the vehicle for him. While moving the vehicle we discovered a leaking caliper. We replace the leaking caliper, an axle shaft, and the drive line. We also included at the customer request a tail light to replace the one on the vehicle that was chipped, but still fully functional. June 16th the customer paid the balance on the vehicle and was provided an invoice showing it was paid in full as, ( this invoice is "account number" he references in his complaint). Final inspection of the vehicle was completed on June 30th. The vehicle needed to be taken through a complete drive cycle to set the emissions monitors. The drive cycle was completed on 7/2/22 and the vehicle was taken to **************** on Boulder HWY for a required SMOG inspection, the vehicle passed the inspection, certificate was provided to the customer and attached to the vehicle file for EDRS and title transfer. The customer took possession of the vehicle on 7/2/22. He was provided the SMOG certificate and a 30 day plate so he could drive the vehicle until he registered the vehicle and received a permanent plate from the DMV. Several days later the customer came me stating the check engine light came on shortly after taking possession of the vehicle. We had the vehicle scanned for codes. The code had something to do with the catalytic convertor performance. The customer continued driving the vehicle and told it was starting to run rough. I informed the customer that I would see if there was anything I could do to help him as he is a good employee. After exhausting the possibilities of having a part to give the customer, I reached out to my immediate supervisor and asked for guidance. As we are not a repair shop, and we sell vehicles that have had some sort of damage, he looked over the invoice that the customer referenced that stated that there is no warranty written or implied, and informed me that we do not repair vehicles after they are purchased and that there was nothing to be done for the customer. the customer and I had a conversation about this on 7/15/22. I informed the customer and reminded him that the vehicle came with no type of warranty and that I would not be able to do anything for him. At this time the customer asked me how it passed smog and the check engine light came. I informed the customer the entire time the vehicle was in OUR possession it had no check engine light on and it received a legitimate smog certificate showing it had passed all required emissions requirements. He ask me if we had a "illegal smog" done on the vehicle, of which I responded that we did not. I again reminded the customer that he was provided with a copy of the certificate showing a pass as required. The customer was also told replacement parts are readily available and relatively in-expensive on line. This was the last interaction the customer and I had about this prior to receiving the complaint. While B&R makes every attempt to ensure that the vehicles we sell are accurately represented at the time of sale, due to the nature of used vehicles we cannot guarantee against any future defects that may arise. We sell all of our vehicles "As is, no warranty written or implied" as can be seen on the invoice copy the customer submitted with this BBB complaint. We regret that the customer is having issues with the vehicle but it was made clear at the time of sale that there was no warranty. Despite this policy, we did make an attempt to help the customer with the issues they are having but we did not have the correct parts in stock and were unable to assist. Consumer Response /* (3000, 8, 2022/07/25) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) THIS IS NOT THE "GREAT RELIABLE CAR" I WAS PROMISED BY MATT M******** B&R MANAGER as I stated in the first statement. Matt M******** told me and promised me a good reliable car with no vehicle issues. I even offered him 2,000$ flat to take the car as is, unreliable and not safe to drive. I offered to do any work the car would need myself, brakes, no power steering, and bad drive shaft. (Had no clue the check engine light on would come on throwing codes P0420 and P0430 meaning catalytic converter is bad). I told him I would never bug him or mention the car to him again after that if something had happened to the car, just because of the deal i was offering at the moment, but he did not accept. Matt M********s words to me when I made him that offer were "Buddy I cant sell you a garbage car that doesnt work I dont want you to hurt yourself in it. I will change the brakes for you and and add power steering fluid and make sure the car is good reliable and drivable for you. I can do all that for you for 3,500 and the car would be good with no problems and I'll even pass the smog for you" I told him that I would accept the deal but at 3,400$. Again, I was not thinking any of this would happen as I don't remember seeing a check engine light on the car.( he could have easily turned off the check engine light in 1 minute with his vehicle obd scanner, lots of illegal smog places do it).I took his 3,400$ price deal package that Matt M******** promised would come with drivable brakes, power steering, and replacement for broken tail light that is illegal to drive with. (Again he did not bring up the catalytic converters being bad or vehicle stalling behavior while driving). As I mentioned I wouldnt have known if the car was good or not since he did not let me test drive the vehicle. Maybe he knows I would have felt the driving issues with the car right away, so he did not want me to test drive it. I was okay with still purchasing the vehicle without a test drive because he is my manager, so I would never imagine him doing anything like that to me. You cannot pass a smog test if the vehicle is throwing any type of check engine light, especially for the catalytic converter which is the number 1 thing required to be fixed before and emissions test. So again how did Matt M******** supposedly pass the smog test legally but the check engine light came on for the catalytic converters on the same day of purchase. The same exact day I bought the car we drove out of the parking lot and drove down the street for not even 10 minutes before the check engine light coming on. I wanted to call Matt M******** (Manager at Store 9 BNR) immediately but did not because I purchased the vehicle on a Saturday and he was not at work that day. I wanted to wait till monday morning to bring up the issue in person as I did not want to ruin his 2 day off weekend, (being the nice guy I always am) and expecting him and hoping he would have no issues fixing and repairing the car. I did not want money back at the time all I wanted was my car fixed. I mentioned earlier you cannot pass a smog test if the catalytic converters are not good, so how did he get the 2008 ***** **** able to pass a smog test without doing some kind of illegal smog at ***?. I would like a 2,000 dollar refund back in order to fix the following parts on the vehicle. Catalytic Converters = 1,500$ for replacement and installation. And I would also like a 500$ refund back in order for me to buy new brakes and rotors for the vehicle, (since Matt M******** did not use extra money I gave him to purchase new rotors or brake pads as he promised). Instead as I mentioned earlier Matt M******** installed used, broken brakes and unsurfaced rotors off another junk car wich is totally unacceptable and unreliable because he did not use any extra money I gave him for the car at all. All he did was get used parts off other used cars to install on mine. So where did that extra money go that he wanted me to pay 1,400$ more?, instead of just taking my 2,000$ offer as is and making it a done deal he insisted on fixing the car for me prior to selling. I would have never mentioned anything about the car to him again. But he promised that if I gave him the 3,400$ he would have our B&R Mechanic Lewis fix the car for me and leave it in excellent condition, in which he did not because "his bosses said so" . That is why I am filing this complaint against B&R Auto Wrecking. Please figure it out ASAP. - ***** ****** Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2022/08/05) */ B&R wishes to extend its appreciation to the BBB for their assistance attempting to reach an agreeable solution in this matter. B&R has made numerous attempts to resolve the issue. We believe that our efforts exemplify our commitment to customer satisfaction. The allegations made do not coincide with the discussions we have had with the customer. We believe there are other parties involved who are not, and were not involved in the transaction. Consumer Response /* (4200, 16, 2022/08/09) */ What was tried to resolve this issue? What was even done to fix the vehicle? You guys did not try anything at all to resolve my issue. The other "parties" involved were Fabiola O****. She is Matt's personal assistant, who runs any and all errands for him. She is the one who Matt made do all the paperwork for the ***** ****, and also the person who falsely smoged the vehicle me and my wife purchased from here, B&R. This doesn't feel right nor sit right with me and especially my wife who the ***** **** was bought for and belongs to. She is not a happy person at all with this vehicle and its ashamed that BNR does not show any appreciation or respect towards me, an employee who has literally almost lost there life for this company. Poured my blood, sweat and tears for B&R only to get paid 4$ or 15$ per part vehicle part for some of the toughest jobs on earth. What I am trying to get at after all I've done for them, I dont even deserve to get my car fixed so my wife can have a reliable car to take the kids to school. My kids lives are in danger everyday in this vehicle and BNR seems to not care one ounce about me and my childrens safety and well being. This was not a professional experience nor pleasant experience in buying a car from here. Never again! I expected better from you guys. Treating me like I am some "costumer" like Matt said. I am a BNR Auto Wrecking EMPLOYEE that's proud to work here and shows heart and bleeds everyday for this tough job. I just hope BNR would show the same appreciation towards me.
