I went to the emergency room at this facility for severe pain following back surgery. The nurse inserting an iv in my arm had no clue what he was doing. Between the wiggling in my arm, the staff was laughing and joking around with the ambulance staff that was there to transport me to valley hospital. I told the nurse this doesn't feel right as my arm started to swell. As I was transported the site began to turn colors. Now I have numbing, tingling and can't feel my pinky or ring finger. I've reached out and their only response is "that's the risk you take with an iv". Me having no feeling in my left arm below the elbow is not the risk I signed up for. This is simply an excuse for hiring incompetent people.I'm not looking for any type of financial payment but I want them to fix my arm to what it was before their nurse damaged my arm. I want excuses to stop being made. This is by far the worse experience I've ever had in my 44 years on this planet. Now I'm afraid to go get any treatment at any facility here in the ********* valley. They simply don't care

Negative stars would be more accurate. I went to er after experiencing severe back pain following back surgery. The nurses and other staff were joking having a grand time when the nurse that was trying to insert an iv line started wiggling the needle in my arm. The pain was just as intense as the pain I was feeling in my back. Before I was transported to Valley Hospital the spot where the iv was placed looked like a cutie orange. Upon arrival to Valley Hospital I told staff there that something was wrong with the iv. I waited for a room for 8 hours and again told staff that something was wrong. It took another 15 hours before it was removed and by that time it was purple and swollen. No one cared. It then took six people to try and put another line in. Failure. After crying in pain and frustration they sent in a specialist with a machine to insert it. Since then I have no feeling in my left arm below the elbow down to my pinky and ring finger. I've reached out to the both hospitals and their excuse is " that is a risk you take getting an iv". Losing feeling in my arm is the risk? Numbness, tingling and unable to wear my wedding ring is the risk I took by going to the hospital for what ended up being an infection in my surgical incision. This has made me beyond angry in the healthcare system in Nevada especially Las Vegas of all places. This hospital obviously hires incompetent phlebotomists to injure and damage patients when they are most vulnerable. Besides my own issues there was one lady that was screaming she was on fire for at least an hour. This hospital system needs to be held accountable for their mistakes and stop using the legal system to cover up their crimes.
