I Hired attorney Keira ******************** ********* to do my estate planning.. she called me on the phone 9/20/2023. 3:14 pm. She said it would only take ***** hours to complete. She arrived at my house each time wearing house shoes and had a very foul odor, I only mention this because her appearance didnt appear she left a court building She asked for $750.00 She had me to Zelle it to her foundation at first meeting 9/21/2023...she text me a receipt. Each of the times we met she was more than an hour late, with no information , or estate plan; -she said it was due to court. 9/25/023 she canceled the entire meeting, 10 minutes before time to meet. At each quick visit, there was no paperwork, nothing done but chit chat about her personal life/family, her 7 bedroom house, Range Rover and **** other clients and a judge She came with nothing but an old laptop and keys. By the third meeting and still no paper work, no plan, no will still not prepared. On 9/28/2023, she showed up 40 minutes late with more of the same excuses, court/didnt have the time to go get the linen paper from ****** more chit chat, server/internet not working, digital site for me to see documents not working, the mention of my pour over will had to be handwritten, and she had to personally write to my bank. She wanted to come back the next day, 9/29.2023. However, I became very skeptical after her wanting to set up a 3rd meeting at 5:45, there was never any estate plans to show, her tardiness each time, her appearances, the fact she has my social, password. So I wrote her a letter, tried to get some clarification, called her but no response. Unanswered emails I emailed a letter to terminate her coming back to my home and wasting another minute of my time. I am Sick and devastated. Please help me get my $ back. I need an estate plan asap.

    Business response

    10/17/2023

    Hello,

******* Contacted my firm via website chat. We responded promptly. We had an initial phone call. From the first interaction she was as sweet as pie with a million expressions that I should have noted were red flags but fell for. Examples, she wants an Estate Plan but the cost is holding her back, she wants to work with me so bad because she found our firm on an outlet I have never heard of, can I travel to her because she had a foot thing, but the biggest one of all being she had for years gotten "free documents from the internet, but wanted to compare them to a legal mind's documents."

I accommodated her every request. I was communicative. I did the work. She never expressed any problems. It is now evident that her plan was to pay, secure my documents, then be refunded all along. She claims my system had problems in the multiple complaints she had lodged against me attacking my livelihood even with the State Bar of ******, yet it was she who claimed to not know her WiFi password, claimed to be unavailable and have so many events going on (birthday parties, outings to the Rave at *******, etc., but magically after I had to use my own WiFi (from my *** this is why she mentions this) she logged right in, captured all of the documents and my guides for administration, etc. printed them off right in front of me and said she needed time. I expressed to her that once she made any final requests for edits, we would schedule a final signing with a mobile notary, and she would get several copies on a linen paper I get exclusively from ***** that she could give to each of her kids.

As can be verified in the screenshots:

    1) The work was completed.

    2) The work was provided to her.

    3) She clearly logged in but intimated to you the system was broken.

    4) She viewed and downloaded the documents

    5) She then sent a non-readable email to which she did receive a response to where I never denied her a refund but surely would have and justifiably so.

I will refrain from responding to some of the ridiculous claims such as I wore house shoes and smelled bad. I will instead make this statement. It has become extremely disheartening that I formed a solo practice to serve minorities, indigent folks, and the vulnerable populations of children and seniors only to fall victim to the stereotypical claims people have long made about these groups that I have long stood to protect and represent correctly. ******* will not be receiving a refund from my firm. Unfortunately, there are no protections in place for me from scammers who set out to steal from hardworking business owners. Even more unfortunate is that I now have to spend time responding to her series of emails claiming I have her social security number (which I do not have), I was late 3 times (we did not even meet this many times), I talked about my personal life (it was clear she was lonely and estranged from her family and I had no interests in her personal life), I do not look like I went to Court (now I feel like if I take a certain type of client in the future I will have to take photos time stamping when the meeting starts, my attire, etc, which has brought me to the conclusion that I will only take a on a certain caliber of client moving forward).
