1 starI should have listed to my gut. I had a move scheduled in May for a move IN August the day before the move I got a call to go over the inventory list and everything was okay. The morning after (when the movers were supposed to come) the dispatcher tells me that they don't have a mover or a truck because the drivers don't like to go to the border. They also stated that they had it to move the schedule around. Mind you they are telling us this the day that the movies are supposed to be there. So they proceed to tell us that they will give us a discount for the mishap. Ben told us they were going to use the backup date which was the 17th the following day and that the movers will show up between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. here it is almost 8:00 and they still never showed no one ever contacted us. We called the customer service number today but they were closed we had to turn our keys into our lease in office for our apartment in today so now we're going to lose out on majority of our belongings don't ever book with these people. They clearly don't care about your things and it's a scam they just want your moneyReview frombrenda l

1 starThey make promises they don’t keep like refunding your money within a certain notice of cancellation. They get away with it because they tell you you have a credit that you can use within a year. I lost almost $2400. I gave them a two month notice of cancellation, I am a widow and I am a senior and it is terrible customer service??Review fromHaleigh D

1 starSTAY AWAy! They are scam artists. I am moving to Maryland to start a new job on Jan 2nd. They picked up my stuff in Boston Ma on time, and were supposed to have it delivered the next day. I drove to Maryland and the movers never showed up. I called customer service who told me “yes they should’ve been there next day but we have 30 days to deliver technically.” They will not give me an arrival date and and said “whenever it gets there it gets there.” That is NOT what I signed up for. Who would sign up for their whole entire house to “get there when i gets there” especially when I have a new job to start! NEVER use this company. They have the worst customer service and they do NOT care about you or your stuff at all.Review fromTerri F

1 starShocking that the average rating could be as high as 2.12 stars. I would give negative stars if possible. My daughter contracted through North American Movers who claimed that they would be hauling the load. They quoted $2980 for an estimated 500 cf. They lowballed it to get the load. They subbed the move out to ***** **** who are even more shady than NAM. In the end, it cost $5127. They charged us for 900 cf but when the truck was unloaded our belongings only filled 600 cf. If we'd had any clue it was going to cost that much we would've just rented a U-Haul and moved it ourselves. My daughter was forced to throw away furniture and beloved belongings because FB claimed she had exceeded 900 cf, then they demanded a wire transfer for thousands of dollars before they would leave. She initially told them the highest priorities were her bed and couch, so they left the couch for last and claimed it took up 400 cf! As for packaging, blankets and tape were included free but they threw in a $650 packaging charge for what amounted to be 30' of stretch wrap and a corrugated carton (about $5 worth of materials). Upon delivery 2 1/2 weeks later, items were missing (had sat in storage for a few weeks). The movers could not easily fit the couch in the elevator of the apartment complex so I had to take the padding, cushions and feet off to fit it in because they were just going to leave it on the ground floor! So far they have denied our claim but I have not given up.Review fromLori B

1 starWORST COMPANY EVER!!! I booked with NORTH AMERICAN MOVERS and SUPERMOVE USA picked up and delivered my belongings. I wish I had checked the reviews prior. Mover showed up with only one mover and showed up 7 hours early to pick up, which I made explicit instructions that I wouldn’t be available until after 1pm. Confirmed with the company the night before for pickup between 3-4p, he showed up at 9am. Told us he’d be able to fit everything in but he’d have to charge me another $1053 because he wasn’t going to be able to fit everything in the space they allotted and left half my stuff behind. Company wouldn’t release my belongings until I paid them an extra $1053. The salesperson lied about everything, customer service is a joke!! When I said I paid extra money for all my belongings and he left half behind. She said put a claim in and gave me a number that they weren’t even enrolled…. We are in receipt of your moving claim. Unfortunately, we are unable to process your claim as North American Movers is not enrolled with ****** ***** **********.Review fromScottie S

1 starOn the day of the move, movers showed up in Uhaul truck, first clue. Immediately quote was changed to double the original price. Required a wire transfer of cash before they would move our loaded furniture, essentially held it hostage. North American will claim they subcontracted and leave you with the the sub contractor for many additional fees and sub will not follow through with agreement made to NA LLC. Most of our furniture was damaged and left for us to move when it was agreed by NA LLC that movers would unload and reassemble in the desired room. NA LLC will claim the sub contractor is responsibile for any damages, they are no help. A complete scam of a company.Review fromChristi M

1 starAbsolute scammers! My original quote was for $7995 They only picked up some of belongings and held my stuff hostage and charged me an additional $17,000 on top of the deposit I paid. So I’ve paid triple and my belongings have not been moved. I’m stuck trying to figure out how to get my belongings moved after they’ve sucked my credit card dry!Review fromkrishna W

1 starDO NOT USE North American Moving LLC Southfield MI is Not North American Van lines. 5/4/23 I called to get a quote from who I thought was North American Van Lines. I needed to move my storage unit from MT to Texas. Tony, the salesperson who answered my call estimated my things at 450 CF and gave me a quote of $3021.00. He said it would be picked up on July 26,2023 and be delivered in 7 days. He was pressuring me for a deposit and said he could not give me this good of a price if I waited. I paid 708.00 deposit. I read my contract and there was a $1000.00 Sanitation fee. I called the head office and questioned this charge. They said it was a law that went through during Covid. I got a text from Tony on 5/19/23. On 6/29/23 I sent him a text and after 2 days I tried to call him and every time it went into voicemail. I emailed him, email came back, so I called the head office, and they said Tony was in a car accident and was in the hospital. The gentleman informed me I would have to work with the head office for my move. I flew to MT to be there when the moving company came to pick my things up. On July 24,2023, I got a call from Anna Harris to go over my cubic ft and adjust my contract. When I looked at the storage unit, I knew there were more cu ft. We measured and came up with 1000 cu ft. She said to be safe let’s change the contract to 1105 CU FT. The contract now goes to $8983. $3000 Origin Destination Sanitation fee. I agree I had more CF and I needed to pay for extra CF. Last minute what could I do but sign the new contract. N American Moving LLC requested $2086.00 deposit and $2740 to pay the company when they loaded my things and another $2740 when delivered. N American Moving LLC is one of the most dishonest, ruthless, disrespectful, unprofessional, rude, companies I have ever dealt with in my 76 years. My move for a unit 12 x 15 ended up costing me $8994. My lawyer is dealing with N American Moving LLC for the $3000.00 Sanitation fee.
