I bought a "bora bora" unit on April ****. My year goes from June to May. I have been attempting during the last 2 weeks to book a "bora bora" unit using the member portal. Between now and May ****, there are only 3 blocks available. none of the 3 blocks start on a Friday or Saturday. Basically, there is no availability for me to book vacation time during the current year (June-May) which means that I will lose my week. Tahiti Village is refusing to open up time for owners. However, if you go to any hotel-booking website, I can book Tahiti Village for any week or month for the foreseeable future. How can it be that there are ample bookings available for strangers, but absolutely no weekend booking available for owners. Mind you, my annual maintenance fee is almost $1,000 and for what? There aren't any days for me to book from now until the end of the contract year. I want my money back. This is a scam. A high proportion of rooms are being blocked off and sold as Hotel nights on websites like expedia and others. This is not fair. I should expect that i will be able to book vacation time during the contract year. someone needs to look at the accounting records because I am convinced that Tahiti Village sells most of the units as hotel nights and the owners only get a very small amount of rooms and nights assigned to them.

      Complaint: 20443467

I am rejecting this response because my complaint is that for the current year (June 2023--May ****) there are no longer any available BORA BORA  units for me to use. I went through every single month and there are no weekend options and maybe 1-2 weekday options in the entire 12 month period. I pay maintenance fees. that is the refund I requested. I should have a reasonable expectation that I will be able to use my 1 week during the June 2023--May **** period as a maintenance-fee paying owner. It is not reasonable that I will lose my week because there are absolutely NO dates available during the 12 month period. I understand we are in August and maybe September, October etc are not available. But in August ****, i cannot reserve for May **** because there are no available options from now until then?  i will lose my entire week because you do not have available spaces yet on expedia.com, i can book for September 2023---- May **** with no issues.

      Sincerely,

We have a timeshare with ***************** (Tahiti Village), and the timeshare is paid-in-full. We were always current on our annual fees but are faced with family health issues and are not able to travel. My mother had serious head surgery in January 2022, and in March of 2022, was diagnosed with breast cancer and receiving treatment. My parents are in their mid-eighties and I care for them. We were told the timeshare was a great investment and that the maintenance fees would never increase as we were owners, but they have increased substantially. We were rudely told that there is no Voluntary Deed Back program when we initially contacted the resort for assistance with closing our account, even though during the sales pitch we were promised there was. We even took their advice and tried to sell it but have not received a single offer for the timeshare and have been trying to sell it for only $1 for more than a year. We are tired of paying for something that is of no value to us and never has been. We want this account closed and a refund for not being able to use it. On top of being lied to and misled in the sales meeting, we are disappointed in the aggressive communication. We contacted ***************** (Tahiti Village), and we talked about Voluntary Deed Back but they wont work with us to get out after several tries. We have been trying to communicate with them about this issue since my mother was diagnosed, but we have never received a call back and our letters are flat out ignored. ***************** (Tahiti Village), stated that we were stuck in the contract, we feel ***************** (Tahiti Village), is negligent in assisting us. We would truly appreciate your assistance with this matter please, we are at our **** end.

Me and my wife have a timeshare contract with Tahiti Village in *********, ******. *********************, the name of the salesperson at the presentation to buy the timeshare, told us we had no time to think over the decision. He told us we had to buy the timeshare right away. We were pressured into signing the contract without having time to think over the purchase. From that point forward, everything just kept going downhill. There are never any rooms available to book. When we finally found a room that was available to book, but when we got there it was a terrifying experience. The shower had backed up, then water was turned off during the shower (leak inbuilding). We had then been relocated to another room that had not been cleaned. Dirty dishes inthe dishwasher, soap on walls in the shower and hairballs in the sink. At this time, we had calledthe front desk and unfortunately requested a new room due to the uncleanliness. Front desk saidsomeone would be right up to clean and we said no we wanted another as we had young children with us. Time for this incident was around 10pm. We waited over 45 minutes to get a new room. The representative seemed to be annoyed by our request and continued to say there were no rooms available for us. Even after that experience, we tried to book vacations at other locations hoping for an alternative experience. . We tried to book multiple times and our attempts were unsuccessful. We tried for years to get a vacation planned at multiple locations. We informed them that I haven't been able to book at any location including the Tahiti Village resort located in ********* **, and we've owned it for years. When I have called to inform them of the information we were told during the presentation, all I have been told by the representatives I spoke to is to book at another property. This made me feel as though Tahiti Village/RCI does notvalue their members as they market themselves. Every time we called to book; they made it very difficult.

I am rejecting this response because: In your response you stated that Tahiti Village/****** are not on the promissary note/mortage, but I have a copy of the promissary note with Tahiti Village on it that clearly shows that you are the note holder. You are just trying not to cancel the contract I have. I need my contract cancelled immediately, I have been lied to and scammed out of my hard-earned money for years now. I was told misinformation and also omitted important pieces of information at the presentation when signing the contract initially that I deem are valid reasons as to why my contract needs to be cancelled.

I checked in with my family on June 18 and it is now the 21st with NO hot water and I check out on the 23rd. This whole time we have not been able to take a shower. I had to microwave bowls of water so my daughter can take a bath. Ive went to the front desk 3 time all they told me was the problem was fixed and to run all the faucets for an hour. Which I did with no luck of hot water. The front desk is not helpful and very rude about this whole situation. They have not offered any compensation for the inconvenience or even offered to switch us rooms that have running hot water. I had to give my daughter a cold shower which she cried the whole time. This was suppose to be a nice family vacation but turned into the hotel from h***

I just had to sit down and write this review because I am beyond disappointed and frustrated with Tahiti Village's timeshare program. Let me tell you, it's a total scam! They dangled all these amazing benefits in front of us like gift cards, vacation packages, and even a free night. But guess what? None of it was real. It was all smoke and mirrors to trick us into signing up for their timeshare. The sales pitch was all about how we'd have these incredible vacations and save so much money. But you know what we got instead? Sky-high maintenance fees that keep going up every year. It's like they're draining our bank accounts with no remorse. What really gets me is their deceptive tactics. They made all these promises just to get us to sign the contract, but once we did, everything they said went out the window. Those gift cards, vacation packages, and free night? Nowhere to be found. It's like they used those offers as bait, and once they had us hooked, they couldn't care less about delivering on their promises. We feel so cheated and taken advantage of.Tahiti Village has shown zero transparency and accountability. They couldn't care less about their customers or the money we've worked hard for. It's all about squeezing every ***** out of us, and it's sickening.I want to warn anyone considering their timeshare program to run the other way. Don't fall for their lies and false promises. The timeshare industry has been tarnished by scams like this, and it's important to be extra cautious. Don't make the same mistake we did. Save yourself the disappointment and regret. Stay far, far away from Tahiti Village's timeshare program.

We are writing to express dissatisfaction with *****************'s lack of communication and understanding regarding our timeshare ownership. We purchased a timeshare from them in 2015 and were subjected to copious amounts of pressure by ***************** to purchase it. We bought it and now are plagued with this timeshare ownership and its uselessness. Despite repeatedly asking for a formal response to our questions or complaints, we have only received the same generic email stating that the only solution is to sell it which has been impossible for ** to do. We have had numerous hardships since purchasing, including my spouse and I being laid off shortly after the purchase and Rod almost dying in 2019, making traveling out of the area extremely difficult. We cannot travel far away from home for that reason alone. But guess who turns a blind eye to all this? Soliel Management. Not only has their lack of availability prevented ** from using it, but they have also not considered the financial hardship that this has caused us. The maintenance fees have risen $100 yearly since we purchased, which is ridiculous, even considering inflation. We have asked our kids if they want ** to transfer this to them, but they dont want it, given our issues. Despite all this, ***************** has yet to provide any assistance or help when requested.***************** should be held accountable for their failure to communicate with their customers efficiently and understand their customers' difficult circumstances. We kindly request your help reaching someone at ***************** who will give ** more than a sell it response. Please help **.Thank you very much for your attention in this matter.

We went on vacation to ***** August 2021 on a promotion and were told we would have to attend an hour-long meeting. While we attended, we were pressured into signing up for a timeshare. I explained that I had kidney failure and was not able to travel often but the salesman insisted that we were getting an amazing deal and would be able to travel anytime due to the large amount of points. Hesitantly, we signed thinking we were getting a great deal. A year later while back on vacation we were told that we needed to do an owners update and had to attend yet another meeting. During the meeting they lied to us and said we never owned the timeshare and that we need to sign a new ownership agreement while still paying maintenance fees for the previous one. Unbeknownst to us, what we were signing was another, more expensive timeshare package. The salesmen had no regard for my declining health and were extremely predatorial in their sales practices. We were lied to and pressured into contracts that we didn't understand from the beginning. This kind of behavior is fraudulent and should be illegal and we demand to be let go of our contractual obligations.

We are submitting this complaint to share our experience with Tahiti Village. We now know it was a complete scam orchestrated by the *****************. We were promised a free weekend in ********* with no commitment, all we had to do was sit in on a 90-minute movie and brief talk. Little did we know, it would last for six whole hours, and we would be subjected to manipulation tactics, free show tickets, and restaurant passes just to get us to say yes. The entire six hours were filled with extremely high-pressure sales tactics. We finally gave in and made a purchase. We thought we would have a nice place for our children to visit, but it has been nothing but a nightmare since then. When we scheduled our first reservation at Tahiti, we arrived at a completely different address than the one we were given. The small studio unit we were provided with had old, dilapidated furnishings in an undesirable part of *********. Since owning the timeshare in 2008, we have had trouble booking preferred dates. Recently things took a turn for the worse. My wife, ********, had a stroke which has made it difficult for her to walk and balance. At 80 years old, our traveling days have become more limited, and the rising costs of owning a timeshare are beyond our means and capability. Due to our experience and current situation, we need someone to reach out to us with our options for separating from this contract completely.

I am rejecting this response because:

We do not in any way accept the response from this business. They state in their reply they are basically running every aspect of our ownership. They are receiving our maintenance fee payments and are 100% responsible for this situation. They are choosing to manage accounts, and they should due their due diligence to know the way in which these accounts are being sold. This company needs to either assist us with this situation or connect us with someone who will.

We were lied to multiple times when we purchased our units. They told us the resort was a members only with a limited number of rooms used to recruit new members. Now the resort is open to the public just like a hotel.Being members we are paying higher maintenance frees because of all the damaged caused by running the resort as a hotel. This year the maintenance free increased by 19.87%They also lied when they sold us RCI with the promises of exchanging points earned by owning Tahiti Village resort timeshares for rooms at other resorts. When we try to use RCI points most resorts had no rooms for exchange points but rooms available for a day rate like a hotel. My Maintenance fees are current and my request to Tahiti Village Vacation Club is to take back the two property. There only response is to hire a company to sell the timeshare that charges large fees and never sell the timeshare. They are still sell timeshares at the resort from a web site that has the BBB A+ logo.
