My experience is no different from that of the others below. A lot of promises about how I could rent my points and make a fortune. I had to reduce the rent from &1000/night (as recommended by them) to $120 per night at which price it was finally rented. This amount did not even cover my membership dues. Any recommendations on how to sell the shares? I am 75 and have been diagnosed with a progressive illness. I will sell it even if I have to discount considerably. Would be grateful for any advice. Thanks

I signed up for a timeshare with ***** Resorts, swayed by the promises and assurances that this would be an invaluable investment for my vacationing future. Initially, I was led to believe that making my timeshare available for others to book would be straightforward and beneficial, helping offset some of the costs. Unfortunately, the reality starkly contrasted the expectations set by my sales agent. Despite attempts to offer my timeshare to family and friends, it became evident that more affordable, appealing alternatives were readily available elsewhere. The assertion that owning a timeshare would be economically advantageous quickly unraveled, leaving me with profound buyer’s remorse. The allure of vacationing in Mexico, as presented during the sales pitch, does not align with my personal travel interests or frequency, rendering the benefits of my points virtually useless. Cost comparison has also been disheartening. It's become clear that the financial commitment to this timeshare could have better served in funding trips to international destinations of my choosing, tailored to my preferences and likely at a lesser cost. Initially, renting out my timeshare seemed doable, with Liz, my sales agent, assuring me of available support. However, I struggled to reach her when needed, adding to my frustration. The competitive timeshare market posed unexpected challenges. Listing on platforms like ****** was thwarted by numerous better-priced offerings, highlighting market saturation and devaluing my investment. In reflection, my engagement with Tafer Resorts has been tense with unmet expectations and unfulfilled promises. The vision sold to me—a convenient, cost-effective vacation solution—has proven to be illusory. My experience serves as a caution to others who might find themselves enticed by the glossed-over appeal of timeshare ownership without full transparency on the potential pitfalls and realities of such commitments.

I signed up with Tafer Resorts almost a year ago. Since signing up, I have encountered a financial hardship and can no longer afford this non-essential travel membership. I have called countless times to cancel, but they keep telling me I cannot. This is causing a significant hardship for me, and I truly need to cancel this membership. I am not seeking a refund of monies already paid; I just need to get out of this contract.

The Villa Group offers visitors checking into their hotels a membership package that usually comes with a discounted hotel activity. But the catch is that you have to go “check out” a different hotel during your stay. I agreed only to find out that the “checking out of the different hotel” was a sales pitch of a hotel point membership. I was exhausted since it was only my second day on my five day trip. The salesman said my membership will come with unlimited weeks and that I could sell them and make a profit. It sounded like a good business deal. Then he said the deposit was going to be covered and I didn’t have to pay it until 6 months from that time period. After getting home from my trip, I tried canceling the membership that was 15,000 dollars but they said it was too late. I only had 5 days to cancel, but I was on my vacation for five days! I didn’t have time to fully process my decision. Then I found out that the salesperson applied for me to a credit card and I got approved for the down payment amount of $3,600! He wasn’t clear that he was going to apply to a credit card company for me. I’m upset that they only give people five days to cancel as most of us are on our vacation during that time period. I don’t like how this group manipulates people into buying The Villa Group membership. I’m not going to be paying.

The Villa Group & The Tafer Residence Club lie about the membership they are selling you. They start at $300,0000 a timeshare. They claim it is 5 diamond resort with a growing high maintenance. They never said you need points to rent timeshare 1900 a year we get. We can not rent all the places in holiday. It was Sept 2021 we paid $29,000 for their Tafer Residence Club fraud timeshare. They said you can stay in a studio 19 nights and if you want a bigger 1 or 2 or 3 bedroom you can get with less days for a bigger room size size. This is a complete lie. We were We did not want it and advised the sales persons many times no. They added many extras to our package concierge and Rci and others for one year and it was all useless and way over priced. We were not allowed to use it to 2023. When we did call it was the same as calling a high priced travel agent. Also the dates you wanted were never available. These extra services were useless. The free concierige and rci and all the extras expired. We would have to pay again for these services if we wanted them. Scam. We asked for years for them to take it back as they said it would be growing in price maybe 3x later and we bought it at a discount I want Villa Del Palmar to give us our money back! We never used it for health reasons & it is useless full of lies. We paid maintenance fees all up to date. We have 5731 points saved up as we woould take the loss of paying the ridiculously high maintenance fees. If your timeshare is so good you can take it back & resell it to someone who wants this type. You can make exceptions and buy this one back please! We want Villa Del Palmar in Cancun or The Tafler Residence Club to give us back our $29000 asap! Take it back we change the review.

The Bigger Scam is when they said we could pay for one night and stay for 7 nights. Complete lie.

We are writing to express my frustration and disappointment with my timeshare ownership with Tafer Resorts. From the moment we signed the contract, we have only experienced stress and aggravation. This timeshare has done nothing but raise our blood pressure and cause us incredible disappointment. We made a mistake by getting involved with Tafer Resorts and we want out of this contract. However, when we spoke with them about canceling the contract, they essentially told us that it is impossible. This response is completely unacceptable, given the circumstances. The sales representatives at Tafer Resorts made this timeshare sound amazing, but the truth is that we have been let down from the start. We have never had a good experience with this timeshare, and it has only become more frustrating and disappointing with time. We are not alone in our feelings about Tafer Resorts. A quick search online will reveal many others who have had similarly negative experiences with this company. The reality is that Tafer Resorts has failed to live up to its promises and obligations. We demand that Tafer Resorts take responsibility for its actions and provide us with a way out of this contract. We are firm in our conviction that this timeshare ownership has been a mistake, and we will not be satisfied until we are released from our contract. Thank you for your attention to this matter. We hope that you will take swift and decisive action to help us resolve this issue.

PLEASE STAY AWAY from getting tricked into buying timeshare with 'The Villa Group'. In Aug 22, I took my wife to Villa del Palmar Flamingos to celebrate her birthday. When I got to the resort guest check-in counter, they did not give me my room guy immediately. Instead, I was forced to go to another counter(timeshare sales guy) who kept us for 1hr+ promising us champagne and free Spa treatment if we commit to attending a presentation. Fast forward 2 days later, I attended the presentation. I told the sales guy, I need to have my lawyer review the contract, but of course, these guys know how to get you. I was promised this vacation package would be good for the entire family. I was under impression when booking vacation using my exchanged points on Interval International, I would not have to pay anything. I was totally wrong. Any bookings via Interval International would cost you some fees on your total booking. Last month, my employment changed and new job has a pay cut, I am being sucked into poverty with increasing yearly membership fees. The fee was supposed to be $485. In March 23 total maintenance fee of $505 was charged. In Nov 23, fee for 2024 was charged in the amount of $530. I see additional Eagle Wings Contribution (optional) = $10, Travel Protection Plan (optional) = $15. Both these optional charges, I don't know what they are. I have made a formal request to cancel my membership and the Member Service supposedly have reached out to the resort but it's been a month since I made the request and no one at the resort has contacted me. This company will destroy your financial future, PLEASE STAY AWAY. The sales agent never told me about 'the rescission period' which would have granted me a legal way out of the timeshare. This is a shameful practice. They force this timeshare down your throat but forget to tell you have the legal right to cancel within the 'the rescission period'.

Don't bother opting in to the travel insurance when you pay annual membership dues as they do not cover accidental medical expenses. I got food poisoning at the Villa del Palmar Loreto requiring IV fluids and antibiotics while staying there on an all inclusive. The Chubb insurance that was provided with our membership dues does not cover this. When it comes down to it, it was food poisoning from the Resort. They should cover it. Very, very unhappy with this.

DO NOT BUY THEIR TIMESHARE IN CABO ! ONCE YOU ATTEMPT TO USE IT YOU WILL FIND LIMITED ACCESS TO YOUR TIMESHARE / HERE IS WHY : THEY ONLY ALLOT A SMALL PORTION OFTHE RESORT FOR TIMESHARE "OWNERS" . tHE MAJORITY OF THE RESORT ROOMS ARE ALLOCATED FOR USE AS A HOTEL .SO YOU WILL BE DENIED A ROOM VIA THE TIMESHARE MANAGEMENT BUT SEE ROOMS AVAILABLE ON EXPEDIA OR ON THEIR HOTEL WEBSITE. OR THYE MAY BOOK YOU AT THE VILLA DEL PALMAR AND NOT AT THE VILLA DEL ARCO . PALMAR IS A 2.5 STAR RESORT WHEREAS ARCO IS A 4/5 STAR RESORT. MY WIFE AND SON RECENTLY EXPERIENCED THIS , tHEY WERE BOOKED AT PALMAR BUT ASSUMED IT WAS ARCO AS WE HAVE BEEN TIMESHARE OWNERS OVER 15 YEARS. THEY USED THE ARCO POOL DURING THE DAY AND STAYED AT PALMAR IN THE EVENING. ONE DAY FIVE SECURITY GUARDS SURROUNDED THEM AND KICKED THEM OUT OF ARCO . THEY WERE PHYSICAL WITH MY WIFE SO MY SON HAD TO STEP IN TO PROTECT HIS MOTHER. THE GUARDS MADE THEM FEEL LIKE CRIMINALS OR VAGRANTS. WHEN i WAS TOLD WHAT HAPPENED i WENT ON LINE AND PAID FOR THE NEXT NIGHT TO BE AT ARCO. wHEN THEY APPEARED TO REGISTER AND GET KEYS THE STAFF REFUSED TO REGISTER OR GIVE THEM A ROOM AND THEY KEPT MY MONEY THAT I PAID IN ADVANCE FOR THE ROOM . $500 WITH TAX AND FEES ! IN THE PROCESS OF FIGHTING FORTHAT REFUND BUT THEY ARE INSITING ONA CANCELLATION FEE OF 50% !!! CRAZY //// IF YOU THE MATH BETWEEN THE TIMESHARE FEE AND THE YEARLY MAINTAINANCE FEE OF $1000 IT IS WAY CHEAPER AND EASIER TO COME STAY AS A PAYING GUEST.
