I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve reached out, hoping they would work with me to release me from this membership. Each time, I’ve been met with either dismissal or complete silence. Calling this timeshare a burden doesn’t even begin to capture the weight it has placed on me. I have a medical diagnosis that makes keeping this timeshare entirely impractical, yet when I’ve brought this up, it has been blatantly ignored, as though my circumstances don’t matter. There is absolutely no value in owning this timeshare anymore. Instead of taking it back and offering it to someone who might actually use it (not that I’d recommend it), they continue to string me along, refusing to address my requests. Consider this a warning—proceed with caution.

I’m writing this review to share my disappointing experience with my timeshare. Not only has the timeshare itself been a source of frustration, but the process of trying to cancel my membership has been even worse. I’ve been repeatedly told that canceling is not an option, which feels incredibly unfair given that I’m unable to make any meaningful use of the timeshare. It’s ironic—and infuriating—that they’ve failed to uphold their end of the agreement while still requiring me to pay for a service I’m not receiving. This practice is simply unacceptable. I hope others see this review and carefully reconsider before getting involved with a timeshare. It’s not worth the hassle or the financial burden.

The customer service and portal are very poorly designed. I have my account set to auto pay, for 2 years in a row the auto pay has failed with zero notification to me or alerting via email or regular mail that my auto pay did not process and therefore accumulating late fees. Their support finally sent a vague email not referencing a past due payment but I replied promptly. Then their staff failed to reply for 4 days and then I have yet to receive a follow up response after 5 attempts to contact them since 2/24. They are showing my account past due, I am willing pay what I owe but not the late fees due to their lack of communication despite all of my information being up to date with auto pay and electronic communication enabled.

I used the hotel VILLA DEL PALMAR CANCUN in 2016 in Cancun Mexico and they used my information and my credit cards to give me a membership without my authorization. I have tried to contact the hotel but when I explain to them they stop the call and communication is impossible. Now I have problems with my credit report because I appear in all of them.

The Villa group is a scam! They take you away from your family during vacation, keep Contained in a room with several different sales people switching off until You agree to contract that you don’t understand. Obviously, everyone wants to be able to go on vacation as often as possible so you talk yourself into thinking you’ll be happy long-term. The Villa group timeshare Really means that they will take money from you monthly and will never let you book a vacation! The first time I tried to book they told me it could not be within 60 days of when the trip dates were. The next time I spoke with them. It had to be within the 60 days. It states the contract that you will be able to book up to 24 months out… But in reality, I’m unable to book a trip at all! Total scam, total waste of money, and gives A terrible feeling about what a beautiful place.

On 02/08/2021, we stayed at Villa Del Palmar because we were offered a low price trip that required a presentation. We spoke with Emily ******,Luis ******** and a number of other people at the presentation. We were adamant that we didn’t want to purchase anything that day but each person we spoke to ignored our constant denials. They wouldn’t take no for an answer. We thought we would never get out of there. They gave us margaritas all morning prior to the signing so I guess they wore us down. They completely mislead us on all inclusive vacations. They said they were available every day of the week. It is impossible to get a reservation because there are too many blackout dates which they never told us about that day. They also told us the points earned would practically give us a free vacation. Not true. The points are worthless. They got us drunk during the presentation and fed us a lot of alcohol during the whole 4 hour long meeting. This doesn’t seem right and they should not scheme to get people drunk before they sign a binding contract. Of course once the representatives hooded us, we no longer heard from them. We feel taken advantage of and ripped off. We want out of this contract! Shannon *****

My experience is no different from that of the others below. A lot of promises about how I could rent my points and make a fortune. I had to reduce the rent from &1000/night (as recommended by them) to $120 per night at which price it was finally rented. This amount did not even cover my membership dues. Any recommendations on how to sell the shares? I am 75 and have been diagnosed with a progressive illness. I will sell it even if I have to discount considerably. Would be grateful for any advice. Thanks

I signed up for a timeshare with ***** Resorts, swayed by the promises and assurances that this would be an invaluable investment for my vacationing future. Initially, I was led to believe that making my timeshare available for others to book would be straightforward and beneficial, helping offset some of the costs. Unfortunately, the reality starkly contrasted the expectations set by my sales agent. Despite attempts to offer my timeshare to family and friends, it became evident that more affordable, appealing alternatives were readily available elsewhere. The assertion that owning a timeshare would be economically advantageous quickly unraveled, leaving me with profound buyer’s remorse. The allure of vacationing in Mexico, as presented during the sales pitch, does not align with my personal travel interests or frequency, rendering the benefits of my points virtually useless. Cost comparison has also been disheartening. It's become clear that the financial commitment to this timeshare could have better served in funding trips to international destinations of my choosing, tailored to my preferences and likely at a lesser cost. Initially, renting out my timeshare seemed doable, with Liz, my sales agent, assuring me of available support. However, I struggled to reach her when needed, adding to my frustration. The competitive timeshare market posed unexpected challenges. Listing on platforms like ****** was thwarted by numerous better-priced offerings, highlighting market saturation and devaluing my investment. In reflection, my engagement with Tafer Resorts has been tense with unmet expectations and unfulfilled promises. The vision sold to me—a convenient, cost-effective vacation solution—has proven to be illusory. My experience serves as a caution to others who might find themselves enticed by the glossed-over appeal of timeshare ownership without full transparency on the potential pitfalls and realities of such commitments.

I signed up with Tafer Resorts almost a year ago. Since signing up, I have encountered a financial hardship and can no longer afford this non-essential travel membership. I have called countless times to cancel, but they keep telling me I cannot. This is causing a significant hardship for me, and I truly need to cancel this membership. I am not seeking a refund of monies already paid; I just need to get out of this contract.
