riceline *** Lines (FL) is a moving broker company. They first quoted us a price for our 3 bedroom home move at $2215.61 on 10/26/22. We paid them half. We were told that we had a month to cancel. When we attempted to cancel 2 days later, they wouldn't refund us. They didn't send a representative to ***** our inventory Less than a week from the move on 11/02/22, they asked for an updated inventory and raised the moving estimate up to $11,395 on 10/29/22. Since we were so close to the move, we agreed and paid another $4000.The moving company, Oasis Moving and Storage, arrived on the set date with a truck that was too small for our belongings. They raised the price to $16,399 and left without taking everything. The result is that we couldn't fully move out of our old house or into our new one.It took 2 weeks to get everything delivered to the new location. During that time, we lost work wages and had other expenses due to staying in hotels, etc.Worse still, was that the movers brazenly opened up boxes, stole items, and taped the boxes back up. A large, metal gun cabinet mysteriously didn't arrive. Fortunately, there weren't any firearms in it.This is an ongoing scam that must be stopped. There are many reviews on the BBB site that tell of the exact same story. How can it go on for so long without repercussions? This company needs to be shut down and heavily fined.Initial Complaint

I hired a moving company to move from across the country and they contracted oasis to come pick up our stuff. Not only their service was terrible ( inexperienced movers, took them almost 8 hours to load the truck, left important items) but they charged us 2x what they had quoted they quoted $6000 and paid total of $14000 and also stole from us. Once they left we realized we were missing a laptop and wireless headphones left in a personal bag we had instructed not too touch. The owner of the company said he would guarantee items will be delivered with he rest of our stuff as he would confront the movers at their arrival to their location where they would transfer our stuff to a bigger truck for the final move. Not only we didn't receive the stolen items but we were also missing additional items which had been packed in the truck inside boxes (some boxes were broken and opened, we were missing an xbox one and smart watch). The owner didn't take any responsibility from anything missing and demanded payment in cash or he would take our stuff and sell everything in an auction. This was a terrible experience, I hired a moving company to make things easier for my family and it ended being a nightmare. This company should not be in business. If I could give them zero stars I wouldInitial Complaint

I hired Executive *** lines for a move from ** to *********. They contracted out to Oasis Moving & Storagel if which I had no idea until the day before and would have never agreed to had I known. The employees of this company damaged every single piece of furniture I own. Couch, brand new $4k bedroom set (headboard, footboard, base, nightstand and dresser - ALL damaged), executive desk, grandmother's antique marble end table from ***** (that I paid extra to have wrapped carefully- arrived in 7 pieces), Princess ***** cake plate, my corner curio cabinet, my craft drawer/table, my printer stand, misc dishware. Our camping chairs (2) were taped together in their canvas bags upon pickup. Upon delivery, they were untaped and no canvas bags. There is more, but I do not have enough characters to describe all of the damage. We also paid to have our items re-assembled. After arguing with them, they sent 2 guys over (one of which had an ankle monitor on) to re-assemble our furniture. I watched as this man drag my $2k dresser and break the leg. I immediately asked them to leave and called Oasis and spoke to a ********. She was very rude and nasty to me. I asked for them to send a manager over to view all of the damage. ******** refused and told me to "file an insurance claim". I want Oasis to pay for the damage to my items and to replace the items that were damage. We paid almost $10k for a move, only to have all of our furniture that we use on a daily basis damaged and broken. The response that I have received from Oasis Moving has been zero to subpar. The insurance company only wants to over my husband and I $275. Our bedroom set alone was $4500. According to the store we purchased it from (W/warranty) because Oasis damaged it, they will not fix it or repair it. I am only asking for Oasis to do the right thing and make us whole. Either refund 100% of our moving costs or pay for all repairs/replacements for our damaged items, as they did not uphold their end of the contact.Initial Complaint

This is a copy of the message that we sent to Oasis Moving & Storage describing the conduct of their employees. We have completed our assessment of the damage to our 1800's Victorian furniture. Two separate marble tops were broken, one in two places, and the other in one. Based on what we observed, both of the movers were clearly not properly trained in how to move items in a safe and controlled manner. They were completely negligent in not safeguarding our furniture from being damaged and/or destroyed. It was quite obvious that they were in an extreme rush to get done and leave. As a result they were totally careless in the handling of our furniture which, resulted in significant damage that could of been easily avoided. They were in such a rush that they left without saying a word or completing their contracted assignment.Approximately, sixty percent of the items were still in their packaging and/or blankets (qty 5) which they left behind. Additionally, when they first arrived they attempted to obtain another $230.00 dollars above the contracted price, claiming that they had to carry the items appropriately 35 feet from where the truck was parked to the front door. Furthermore, I know this doesn't necessarily reflect on their ability to do their job, but they both were in dire need of a bath. Which, doesn't reflect well on their professionalism or competence. When, we spoke on the phone you stated that the companies' liability was limited to 60 cents per pound of the damaged items, if I recall correctly. This is but a small fraction of the value which, was destroyed, clearly due to negligence and the mishandling of the furniture. Therefore, I wish to advise your company that this would not be acceptable at all.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: it is totally absurd to say the least and does nothing to address their obvious negligence at all. Under the best circumstance the most I would recover is but an extremely small fraction of the value which was lost due to their extreme negligence, which they clearly choose not to address in their BS response. Based on their own admission the most that I could recover is approximately $42.00. Based on the weight of damaged items x .60 cents per pound. This is totally absurd as the loss in value due to their incompetence and obvious negligence is more than $900.00 dollars. Since the damage was directly due to their clear mishandling/negligence and could have clearly been avoided by exercising even a minimal amount of care in the handling of these items, they are without a doubt responsible for providing 100% relief for the damage caused. Furthermore, this company has a very well documented history of complete incompetence and neglect in the handling of their customers belongings. It is my belief that their disregard for the safety of their customers belongings is so appalling that they should be criminally prosecuted for their actions.
Sincerely,

We hired this company to move my apartment belonging from *********, ** to *********, **. Outside of the fact they missed many dates for both pick up and delivery, the biggest issue was the amount of items that never arrived to **. They put me through a very extensive process to file a claim, and today I received a letter informing me that I would be receive $36. They never delivered a bookshelf, a standing mirror, a steel garage can and a large cat tower. Additionally items arrived broken. There were also boxes that were opened, destroyed and taped back up with missing items, namely a ******** Wii that has been in my family for years. I have multiple text messages from them showing the items that they bid to pick up. On the day of pick up, after they missed several dates, I did NOT understand how important it was to scrutinize every line item because I had no idea to expect them to steal items from me. When they delivered in **, again after missing several dates (which I have text messages to prove) I was told by the driver and delivery person "are you just going to sit there and watch"? This was a most miserable experience and they should NOT be allowed to steal my items,Initial Complaint

Contracted services of Oasis Moving and Storage. Everyone agreed on the estimate. Services were scheduled on a pre-arranged date.Movers were two days late costing me additional time and money to adjust. Claimed drivers not available.on the day the movers did arrive, they arrived late in the afternoon and had to work into the night. Another day lost due to late arrival.Upon ultimate delivery at new location, it was discovered there were a number of items missing. Items that did not belong to us were discovered.Evidence of rodent f**** and urine discovered on our household goods.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:Goods were received but not received in good order.
Undisclosed or hidden damages include:
GE washing machine had numerous rubber hoses chewed through by rodents - this would not be revealed during a casual inspection
Extensive evidence of rodent f**** and urine on much of the goods that were received. This was evident by the odor, droppings, and urine stains.
Items discovered that do not belong to us. Again this would be not be noticed upon a casual observation.
Three 27 gallon plastic totes missing. A detailed inventory was not created at the time the goods were originally loaded by the "replacement" crew that was two days late. so no detailed inventory is even performed. However since the goods are my property, I know what's missing and what isn't.
Several items of furniture were damaged beyond repair, some items sustained only minor damage. Again this was not evident during the rapid unloading of my property as it was placed in storage at the receiving end.
I did not inspect every single item that was removed from the truck as it was unloaded. That would have been impractical. The driver and his crew unloaded the items and placed it all in a storage unit without regard to any inventory or inspection.
As part of the contract, I purchased insurance to cover such losses.
I do not accept the company's response
Sincerely,

Our moving broker hired Oasis Moving and Storage in ********* to move our furniture from *******, ** to ********** Or. First thing Oasis did w/o looking at all stuff to move, told us that they had to increase price for extra cubic ft and charge again for piano. We had contract w piano charge, and 515 cubic ft. After measurements of each piece were given, and an extra charge for gas which was already included in contract. They broke us down to pay the extra so we did out of being to old to move it ourselves. At delivery same thing, more money b/c things were heavy n he was alone plus extra gas. The guy came alone to unload at 6:21a.m. w/o the 24 hr notice so bank and P. O.closed. I broke dwn so he didn't demand extra money as my original charge had more than doubled already from $2869. To $6205.28. We cannot do it ourselves and fixed income. He unloaded other peoples boxes putting them all over our grass to get rained then unloaded our stuff using my GrandDaughter our Pest Inspectors help. Our piano keys were out of place and stuck not able to play after paying double fees. Our curio hutch had one side broken glass that rattled around as he tipped n tilted it and told us that yeah broken so just file claim! A huge chip at top of entertainment cntr, broken hand crafted cradle spindle, I sent claim for est damages and extra charges $1331. I received a ck for $194. To settle. They know I cant afford attny These guys have a scam business w same things happening to everyone. They are experienced w answers and excuses. They did load it in 1/3 truck, unloaded to another truck for delivery w s different guy that loaded it. He had no regard for property, just money and told me stuff is stuff plus many other of his opinionated ideas trying to get my GrandDaughter to feel for him and talk me into more money. Extra increased @ delvry refused. Oasis scams down to a tee. Please don't use
