1 starI didn’t even want to leave one star. My children’s pediatrician is IN NETWORK with this insurance company and they have yet to pay ANYTHING for my child’s routine exam from January. The pediatrician refuses to see any of my other children until this bill is paid for hindering my other children’s care. This company needs to be investigated because money is being taking out of paycheck for this coverage and you can not even use it. Poor excuse for an insurance company.Review fromDeolinda E

2 starsI went for my annual check-up with my husband and ended up paying for my blood test, mammogram, and PCP visit—owing $532. After a one-day ER visit on 04/15 at Memorial Regional, the bill was nearly $30,000. This insurance is a disaster—nothing is clear. Representatives say one thing, then charge differently. They mention billing codes that patients don't understand. It's extremely frustrating. If you're sick, you need a doctor—so you end up negotiating directly with the doctor and hospital. What’s the point of insurance if it doesn’t cover and you still have to make separate arrangements?Review fromLeslie H

This insurance company is the most horrible insurance company that I had to deal with on my employer plan. . this plan cost me almost $200 a month yet when I need something as far as a simple blood test, they refuse to pay for it which is now in collections because I refuse to pay for it. And $1000 deductible is insane. Waiting for two more months so I can begin my Medicare. Avoid this plan at all cost.Meritain Health

Additionally, I had a colonoscopy done and they refuse to pay for two polyps that were removed, which thankfully turned out to be benign. They paid $800 towards the procedure and left me with a bill for almost $2000. This insurance company is a scam and a jokeReview fromWilliam S

They say they cover 100% preventative care but doesn't cover diagnostic tests and will charge a co pay for ALL doctor's visit. Say they cover vaccinations but doesn't... I regret wasting years into my policy before realizing how bad they are. Great when you don't need them but nearly useless whenever you go to use it for any procedures/ tests. Would give a 0/5 if I could. Going back to **** ***** **** *******Meritain Health

They will happily cash your monthly payment- and deny the coverage they promised in exchange. We forgot to return a paper. No one called- no one told us. I went to the doctor, we continued to pay our insurance. Months later I find out all my claims were denied, and I was essentially not insured that entire time- despite paying. Meanwhile, the doctors kept charging my account. So I am now paying double. Forget customer service- they will tell you "oh wait, we will fix it." Never had insurance this bad in my entire life. The bot response to this comment will be much the same as what you get through email, useless and not human. Unethical company, bottom line.Meritain Health

Consider telling your boss about the poor quality of Meritain Health. When contract renewal time comes up, your employer can switch to a better Insurance company. I've seen it done before when members complained to their management. I continue to have an ongoing issue with Meritain Health as a provider. Despite 12 calls on my part plus calls from my billing company, the issue has not been resolved. Customer service initially told me that the issue could not be escalated and then it was "escalated" per my persistence at least 3 times, still with no resolve. Members have the most power with insurance companies fyi. Vote with your feet.Meritain Health

1 starTook then 6 months to finally pay their part of the bill because they kept saying we had other insurance for our child. 4 calls were made with each “worker” saying “oh yeah, we don’t see another insurance so we’ll get this taken care of” just got them to turn around and tell our dental office that we had other insurance so they won’t pay. They FINALLY paid and had the audacity to claim that they never once stated we had other insurance. Terrible companyReview fromNiki G

1 starHorrible service. Can't even get a password reset in under 2 hours. Agents don't seem to be trained at all and have no idea what customer screens look like. 80% of the information they provide is 100% incorrect. Employers, please consider a more reputable company for your associates.Review fromMike T
