1 starFuture/Current customers beware of the incompetent operation from FreshDirect.I placed an order for a large party on Monday and scheduled delivery for Saturday. Only part of the order show up on Saturday.I gave their customer service a call and was told that they don't know why a large part of the order was missing. They have no status updates on them and no reason to give me.The missing items were over $100 worth of steaks and fresh oysters.The customer *** tried to contact their transportation and got no answer back. All he was able to see was the oysters were out of stock since Wednesday.This shows how poorly this company manages their operation. As a customer, I did not receive any updates that my order were out of stock, delayed or impacted. All I got was half of the shipment with no explanation.Review fromMka J

Dont shop here. The company misrepresents its services consistently, lies about promotions and fails to deliver orders on time. Their app provides tracking of deliveries to give you a time range you think is accurate only to then deliver completely past that range and past the time frame of your delivery. The headache of tracking orders that have gone awry - about 90 percent of them - isnt worth it.FreshDirect

Fresh Direct provides a good service, but their subway ads are deceptive. They offer $50 off with discount code "Subway". There are no listed exclusions or limitations on the ad, and nowhere does it say only for new customers. Yet when I tried to add the code, it said invalid code. **************** said all billboard or subway ads are only for new customers, and the refused to honor it, even though I have a photo that clearly shows no mention of any limitation on the offer. They need to be more forthright in their advertising.FreshDirect

1 starThe website indicated no delivery charge for orders of $30 or more. After registering for a new account, filling my "bag" with more than $30 worth of products and reaching the last stages of the checkout process the bill for my order included a $5.99 delivery fee and a $0.98 "fuel surcharge". Needless to say, I did not expect to see either of these charges, having received no prior warning whatsoever, and, in fact, having ordered more items than I originally intended in order to reach the $30 threshold and avoid the delivery charge.It is my understanding that charging extra fees without prior notice, particularly when the customer is led to believe that such fees would NOT be charged based on reaching a minimum total order amount, is a form of bait and switch, and if so is unethical and illegal in my jurisdiction.I am entering this as a review rather than a complaint because I have not been victimized to the extent of any financial loss by this company, and so I understand that the BBB's rules classify this as a review. Based on my experience I would not recommend doing business with Fresh Direct, and would caution anyone who does business with them to be wary of any claims and other information on their website regarding waiving of fees, discounts and other matters regarding the costs of products and services they offer.Review fromCrystal P

1 starWARNING! I had my account hacked with someone ordering over $700 in groceries. Im unclear how this would have happened as I only use the app on my iphone unless it was a breach on freshdirects end.Not only did they get my password somehow, they were able to add 2 addresses that weren't mine and update phone numbers without it triggering an email or alert. I noticed about 7 hours after it happened (midnight they made it, I cancelled following AM when I saw. I immediately cancelled the order, changed my own password, deleted the TWO additional addresses that were added to my account and took screenshots prior. When I called (simultaneously but, long way) to report it the woman was annoyed I deleted the addresses so they couldn't block them. This is an unreal breach of epic proportions for safety, security of my account and privacy.Whomever this was didn't trigger any flags to stop an order (change address to 2 other locations I've never delivered to), somehow got my password and now knows my address, phone # and at least the last 4 of my credit card. I'm at least of sound mind, know to change passwords immediately, etc however, what about someone who isn't so tech savvy or doesn't notice in time? There's an epic fail in the security at FreshDirect with zero care to rectify. They just said, "change your password". What's stopping this from happening again? Is it an internal issue? I asked and they said it should have been caught and email updates if an address was added, that didnt happen and had zero resolution or assurance it wouldnt happen again. I had to deactivate my account. I cant worry that someone will get my info, order groceries under my name and credit card and send all over ***.Poor tracking and assurance from a security, fraud and overall consumer care standpoint. 1 starThey clearly have been hacked. Someone tried to order **************************************************** Brooklyn (not my address). They refused to investigate or call the authorities. It really seems like they have an employee stealing accounts to try and scam orders. They tried to blame it on skimming except I never take that credit cared anywhere.Review fromDominick C

2 starsOrdering during the free trial pass was ok. They only made a mistake on 1 order. However today i received notification from my bank. Apparently fd charged me their membership fee without notifing me.prior which they stated they would do. Never received an email.I called and they agreed to refund me.back the charge. This has caused stress and anger as they didnt notify me if i wanted to continue with membership and if so an alternate payment method o could choose. No apology, nothing. Nothing to make things right considered they messed up. I won't be using fd again. I cannot trust them.Review fromRene P

1 starIf you make an order thru freshdirect they charge you a "holding fee" but then they don't refund you when THEY cancel your order. If you modify your order you get charged for the individual items and then it never gets adjusted. They literally steal money and overcharge their customers. Frequently your order will be marked as "delivered" and nothing will have been delivered then the customer service reps act like it's your fault and treat you as tho you are stupid for questioning their charges but conveniently can't get in touch with their drivers if your order says delivered when it hasn't been.
