My niece and I recently visited ************** on ************************************************. This store is right next door to **************** on ****************************. As we entered we were greeted by the owner who was already in the process of helping a woman looking for a dress. He asked what we were looking for and we said Prom dresses. He directed us towards the back where his assistant was finishing up with a mother and daughter who were purchasing dresses. Once she was done with them she greeted us and said before we began we needed to understand the rules of the store. My niece and I both looked confused and she explained further. Here at Samba we ask for $20 deposit on any item you want to try on. Should you make a purchase then the deposit goes toward that purchase. But if you dont find anything you lose the $20. So be sure that you know if you are ready to try on any of our beautiful selections. These two ladies that just left came all the way from upstate and they had put down deposits and now have to beautiful dresses. unfortunately a woman came earlier, tried on a dress but didnt buy anything so she had to lose her money. She said this as if it was the womans fault and not the owners ** policy. Where do they feel this is right to do to customers with their hard earned money? How have they been allowed to get away with this? I was never so angry and I asked my niece if she wanted to try anything on. She was more upset than I was but just wanted to enjoy the experience of Prom Dress shopping and wanted to leave. Fortunate for us We went to a lovely boutique a few stores over and my niece found a beautiful dress that was made for her. To see the smile and glow on her face helped to erase the bitter taste that experience had left in my mouth. If you look further on ****** you will see reviews left by customers with even a worst experience than what I encountered today.
