I saw ******************** at ***************************** Surgery at **** Ocean Parkway, Brooklyn, ** on 2/14/22. I provided x-rays that had been taken less than a week earlier by the referring dentist, but was told they were not diagnostic and a new X-ray was taken. I then saw **************** for approximately ten minutes . I was charged $415 but provided with no itemized ****. I called today, 2/15/22 to try to get an itemized **** and was informed that they were unable to provide me with one until the ****** came to the office in approximately two weeks. I want an itemized **** and I want it now.Business response

The patient came to the office with a referral for an upper jaw implant consultation. In order to evaluate whether the patient is a good candidate for implant placement, a panoramic x-ray is required to determine bone height and sinus proximity. The patient emailed our office a full mouth series of periapical and occlusal x-rays, which may be acceptable for her general dentist,but are not diagnostic for the oral surgeon, especially not for implant consultation; therefore, a panoramic x-ray was necessary and taken.
The office currently only has one ******, who reviews accounts and posts procedures for the offices hundreds of patients seen weekly. In general, we ask patients to allow up to two weeks in order for the ****** to review the account and post the appropriate *** codes. However, if the patient had called the office and spoken to a Supervisor, the ****** could have been contacted immediately and this process could have been expedited to be done the same day as her request. We will consider this complaint a request to have issuance of her itemized statement expedited and will email it to her today.

Re the businesss response.
1. When I asked why the **rays I provided were not adequate I was told only that they were not diagnostic with no further explanation. I believe the conversation then turned to whether I had insurance. Interestingly, the business has found the time to give the BBB a ****** explanation for the **ray they took than to me, the patient.
2, I did phone the office for an itemized ****. I was told one was not available and would not be available for two weeks due to the Billers schedule. I was not informed that a supervisor could help me. The woman who answered the phone insisted that an itemized **** was not available and continued to so insist even after I informed her that I was going to make a complaint to the BBB.
That said, I have now received the itemized **** I asked for and accept the explanation for the additional **ray offered here, although never to me directly. Therefore, I have no objection to the closing of complaint ID ********.
