I was contacted by an employee of this business back towards the end of 2021 regarding an outstanding balance I owed to a rental company. We agreed on a biweekly payment of $100 until March of 2022 when the remaining $1100 was paid in full. I was told I would receive an email showing that I had paid my balance off in full. Never received. I have also tried to contact the company by the number posted to the website to no avail. Since this balance was paid in full, I have still received upscale of 5 other businesses calling me about this same balance that I had paid off. All I am requesting is proof that my account has been paid in full so I can end the nonstop debt collector calls on a debt I have already repaid.

      Hello,

After looking into this further, Great Lakes is just a merchant. We processed your payment and the debt was processed from an agency of ****** ******** ********. We advised you reach out and provide information on your original account so we can get you out a paid letter as you requested. This business you made payments with is no longer in business. We reached out to Adrianna to try to resolve this and haven't heard back via phone with any original account information. At this time, there's nothing else we can do without communication from this consumer providing details we requested. Please contact us directly if you have further questions, ************.

I was contact by GREAT LAKES PROCESSING, with a vm stating they would come to my home or my job, I did make a payment plan with them, tried to contact them because I had to switch banks, couldn't figure out how, so I put it on my to do list. Forgot, anyways about 6 months later I got the same voicemails, so I called and explain not only did I had to switch banks but also in the middle of a loss of income, so set up another payment plan, the emailed forms that I had to sign, due to being at work, I did not get the chance to sign them and by the time I got back to it probably the next day, the forms were no longer available, however without me fully signing those paper, I feel like the initial agree of the payment plans is not validated.

This company employs an unethical collection agency by the name of ******* *******. They are harassing me about an account supposedly from *********** and my wife with an account supposedly from Senor D*****. They were very rude and condescending and they've broken every debt collection law possible. Although we've asked them to cease and desist contacting us, they have refused to do so and have continued calling and harrassing us and our family members. when we tried to set up payment arrangements with them, they used cursing and abusive language. They've called my father and my mother in law and told them they'd come and arrest us...all very clear violations of the FDCPA. They even contacted my boss and told him about the debt. I'd like for this company to be investigated and I will also file a complaint with other regulatory agencies. I want this company to follow the law and stop contacting us and any third parties about us

      Business response

We have looked into your account with the agency of ***. Your account has been inactive since 9/16/2022 which no calls have been made on your account since. This company ceased communication once alerted to do so. Based on the call recordings, no such threats were made. There was no third party disclosure. ********'s account was received after ****** which they had the same phone number listed so it was imported after speaking to ******** about ****** account. You contract with Senor D***** as well as *********** states you can be contacted by third party agencies to retrieve funds once in default which is what happened here. Your account is inactive and *** no longer has access to your account per your request which means you will not be contacted again by that agency.

Better Business Bureau: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. This response is full of lies. There are cease and desists on file for both accounts but you still continued to contact me. Our family members allowed us to listen to the voicemails that you left so you are lying. If you're saying that you no longer have the accounts, where are they currently? Regards, ***** And ******** ********

Once these accounts are locked and sent back, no one on this account is contacted. If you can provide proof of the date you are claiming of being recently contacted, please submit so i can review. Otherwise as stands, no one was contacted as these accounts are restricted. We returned these accounts to the debt buyer **** who owns these as refusals as well which they have them closed as well and not placed at any other agency. I have addressed the concerns here and guaranteed no further contact from the agency GLPS placed these originally with. If you need further assistance you can contact me directly to discuss, ###-###-#### Kelsey.

I kept receiving calls from some woman who claimed someone was coming to my house or place of employment for an outstanding debt w ***** ***** *****. I couldn’t find any information on her and only a little on the debt collection and set up a payment plan because she was rude and was threatening someone to come to my house. Is this a scam? Do I cancel my card? Will someone actually come to my house or job to sue me? If it is for the ***** ***** loan, I’d like it completely waived as it’s an illegal tribal loan and I paid more than double in principal, and then COVID hit and my mother had a stroke and I take care of her and can’t continue to pay on a predatory loan with family in the hospital and a job lost from COVID.

      Business response

      10/06/2022

Hi ******* Because ***** ***** operates under Tribal sovereign authority they are allowed to operate and lend in any state regardless of licensing status as they are a sovereign nation which means your loan is not illegal and you signed a binding contract with this lender. I will remove all future payments per your request and you will not be contacted from *** regarding this account. You were working with an outside agency of ***. Great Lakes had never spoken to you as we just place the accounts and process payments. I will return this account to the purchasing buyer with your $200.00 payment posted on it from 9/13/2022 with the balance as such. Your contract states the original payment agreement on it which also states your interest rate on this loan that you defaulted on. If you have any further questions or concerns please contact me directly, ************* Kelsey.

In April of 2022 I had a voicemail of someone who threatened to come to my home AND my job if I didn’t answer them. I set up a payment plan with a ‘Lisa’ who wasn’t the greatest. She told me I could adjust them after I made my first payment. I made it and asked her about adjusting and she said “no, you need to make another one before I can adjust that”. So I made the next one and again was met with “you need to make a months worth before you can make it and you also missed your last payment” which I in fact did not after she looked further. She was actually looking at someone’s else’s account! I kept making my biweekly payments up until June when I called them a week in advance to let them know I wasn’t going to have a job for a while. They said it was fine and that I just had to make ONE minimum payment the next month which I did. I started my new job and I told them I lost my card for my next payment and they said it was fine, to call Monday. I did and made my payment so up to this point haven’t missed ONE and even have the bank statement to prove it. Yesterday on September 2nd, 2022 they called me again and left a voicemail because my payment didn’t go through. I told them my paycheck didn’t come in due to some issues with the bank my employer works with so it wasn’t my fault and told them that they were working to fix it. Brian (who is extremely scary and rude) told me I had until the end of their business day (5:00) to fix the issue otherwise they wouldn’t take my payment plan anymore since I didn’t advise 24 hours before that my paycheck wasn’t going to go through AS IF I KNEW THAT WOULD HAPPEN. He also stated I wasn’t consistent with payments and missed them which was false. I called from 11:30-5:30 with no response. I left three voicemails for a call back and nothing. I screenshot EVERY call just in case. I even called the original lender for help. Great Lakes is awful to work with. I’m questioning their legitimacy and how much they actually want to help.

Hi *****, I have looked into your account and its looking like your account is placed with a collection agency of ***. Great Lakes is a payment processing company which we do not make outbound calls. We have control over your PG account in which i have pulled it back internally and *** no longer will be contacting you in regards to this account. If you'd like to discuss a settlement on your account you can contact Great Lakes directly and the $820.00 applied to your account already can be applied to a settlement option given. I do apologize for the service you were provided by such agency but i can assure you that no further calls will be generated to you. No further payments will be processed on your account either, i have removed all payments until we get in touch to discuss further. Please contact me directly at ************ to discuss, Kelsey.

Hi ********, I have reviewed your account and see your account was placed with an agency of ***. I did close the account with the agency as settled as you have paid $2,600.00 with only 4 payments that were remaining. I have waived those 4 payments and considered this paid in full. I have attached the paid in full letter for your reference as proof as well as satisfaction.  As of now, no payments are going to be deducted and you will not be contacted again regarding this account. If you have any further questions or concerns you can contact me directly at Great Lakes, ************. I hope this puts you at ease here as paid in full.

I have received numerous threatening calls on both my cell phone and at my place of employment from a "Jackson" whop doesnt state who he is with or anything, stating that a process server will be sent to my home or work. I am more than willing to set up an arrangement to handle this, however, I have googled the number and name that has called me and it has NUMEROUSLY been flagged as a scam. I do not feel comfortable speaking with this person over the phone and there is nothing listed for email. I was told that my account was placed with you directly and I would like to deal with someone who can speak to me to clear this up without being threatened.

I received a call from "BRM" and a couple of agents there that are threating me with legal ramifications. I was sent details to pay a balance that appeared to be fraudulent and I stopped the transaction because they are refusing to provide a validation letter. I can't tell if it is legitimate or fraudulent just by the way he was speaking to me as no one I have talked to in the past has spoken to me on the phone like that. "Andrew" at BRM proceeded to yell at me over the phone and use scaring tactics on 8/5. I would just like some sort of validation to this matter and see how we can proceed from there. The account reference number given to me is 13093. I would just like debt validation of this matter and go forward from there as opposed to Andrew calling to yell at me and threaten me.

Hi *****, I wanted to assure you again you would not be contacted again by BRM as they no longer have access to this account. My number personally at Great Lakes is ###-###-####, thanks again, Kelsey.
