      Called to settle account on 5/18/23 with the representative Rebecca . She told me several times my form of payment was not authorized, ironically i was trying to pay with a prepaid card with a mastercard logo, which they told me to get to make payment. I called the card and it said on the phone with her that I had 500.00 on the card. she explained a couple more times that the card still did not go thru and she see just heard that I did have the 500.00 on the card and i was only needing to pay 499.75 to settle m account. She in turn asked for the card number again. I gave it to her she said again the card did not go thru, at this point I just figured i had to get another card or another form of payment. Then I go to the store to buy a fishing pole 5/22/23 only to find out th e card only has 0.01 on it now. there was 2 transactions on this card 5/19/23 for 499.00 and then another one 5/20/23 for .99. This representative stole my money she had to right down the card information and stole my money!!! now after talking to about 10 people from credit card company to prepaid card company to several northstar location services compliance representatives over and over again i find out , not only is there nothing they can do for me they told me i am out of my 500.00 and still have this debt sitting over my head

      I have been receiving recorded calls from "Tom H*****" at this company several times a day for several weeks, with a totally unintelligible "call back" number. I have no outstanding debt; no one at this number has any outstanding debt; I have checked all the credit-reporting agencies and no applicable inquiries have been made on any of my credit accounts (which are all "paid in full, never late.") I am on the federal "Do Not Call" list, yet I keep getting these calls. If this company is looking for someone else with the same or similar last name, then they need to look elsewhere. No one at my number is involved!!

      I was contacted today for the first time from *********** This rep said her company is hired by attorneys at the collection agency. The rep said she was calling to reschedule a time to drop off documentation to my home since I cancelled the first appointment. I have never spoken to anyone about this. She gave me the number to Northstar *** ***** ************. It was odd because this same person called my sister first saying I had her down as a contact. I called the Northstar *** ***** where I spoke to a female rep who was extremely rude. She said it was a collection debt that was being filing as a civil suit for **************. I asked her for proof of this loan because this is over 14 years ago, she said in 2009. I have bought a home and they did a thorough background check on my credit and that never came up. She verified the last 4 of my social and drivers license and knew my addresses. She said they bought it from them so the didn’t ask for proof. She said I could respond to the suit within 30 days and file a dispute and hung up. She was getting frustrated with my questions. I contacted ************** and they were able to pull up anything that was under my name and social. They said they did have one that shows paid off. The rep emailed me a copy of the receipt. I called back Northstar Legal Group and was transferred to the same rude rep. I told her what I got from EZCorp and she said “oh then it must be a different loan” I told her that the rep said if it was charged off or sent to collections she would still be able to see it. I told her that I wanted to make sure this wasn’t a scam. She then sarcastically asked that how could it be a scam when they have my info. I said bc I work for a bank and I know that people can get access to some info publicly. She then said “Bye Bitch” and hung up. This is by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced and so unacceptable. If they are legitimately trying to collect then provide proof.

      This company harasses me daily. They have called once and sometimes more than once every day. It is a computer call. They say it is Tom Hinman and important that I call back. I don’t because I have no outstanding debt!

      Better Business Bureau:

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********* and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

      Their response was that they received a request from a client on January 24 to collect a debt. I have no debt owing nor have I been contacted in reference to any outstanding debts. Removal of my phone numbers and no further contact from them will resolve the issue.

      I started to receive calls from this ####-###-#### 0n January 17th 2023 at 8:18 am. There after on January 18th at 8:12 am, January 20th at 8:03 am. January 23rd at 8:57 am .January 24th at 8:41 am, January 25th at 8:49am, January 30th at 8:38am, and on today February 20th at 8:36 am. This is harassment and it needs to stop. Ms. *******

      Received voicemail on 1/10/23 and returned call and spoke with "Mary Ann". Immediately, she asked for me to give her personal information without identifying why she was calling. When I refused and asked her for a specific reason for her call, she threatened that someone will show up to my place of employment and/or residence to serve me with papers.

      This company calls me daily. They ask for ***** ********. Okay my husbands first and MIDDLE name is ***** ********. Not our lastname. They say we owe a debt. We are in active chapter 13 bankruptcy. I have told them this numerous times and told them to call my lawyer instead. They don't. They continue to call my phone and my husbands phone. My lawyer has their information. It is illegal for them to be asking for money while I'm in bankruptcy and my lawyer said the debt they are trying to collect on is not legit and is not on my credit.       These people claim I have some ****** POS system and I do not. They are threatening me and stating I have some 4 year equipment lease, and that i owe them over $3,000 which is bs. I do not own ANY POS equipment other than a square terminal which is through square and I own it outright. They keep calling me and one lady I talked to was downright disrespectful and threatening. I hung up on her. I do not owe nor do I own any other POS equipment other than my square.

      This in reference to reference/account number *******. I have emailed Northstar three times on this issue and I have not received a contact back neither by phone or email. The third time contacting (which was on 12/12/2022) I mentioned if no response by end of the day I will file a complaint with the BBB. At this point any correspondence will be made via the BBB. Earlier this year, I had set up auto pay through Northstars website in the amount of $25 per week. The last payment of the amount of $25 was posted on 11/11/2022 and no other payments in the amount of $25 were posted. There were other payments in the amount of $50 that were posted (which were auto pay via my bank that I set up) so the $50 payments is separate from the $25 weekly payments. All I was asking is when and why did the auto pays stop? In addition when I logged into my account this week to view my balance, all that is showing is "unavailable." How am I suppose to check my balance, see payments being posted. I know I was close in paying the account off but now I dont know when the last payment was posted, if there could have been an error in any payments made manually (like the $75 payment recently made). As a consumer, I should be able to view my account without any issue. I want to view my account online without any issue. As mentioned, any correspondence will now be made via the BBB.       Better Business Bureau: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. First off, Northstar has not addressed the area on what had happened to the recurring payments that were setup on Northstars website back on Nov. 2022. Secondly, the $50 check that was dated 12/12/2022 was returned to Northstar as the check was made out to Northstar and not me. If that $50 that Northstar was originally sent to me was indeed an overpayment then Northstar can send a check made out to me as they did send out a $25 (again probably for overpayment) that was made payable to me. I did receive an email from Northstar on 12/19/2022 that stated the following:"Monday, December 19, 2022Dear *****,Attached please find the document(s) you requested. The attachment has been password protected for security.  The password for this document is the first five digits of your zip code and the last four digits of your social security number.If you have any questions or require any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact a Northstar Account Representative.This communication is from a debt collector and is an attempt to collect a debt.  Any information obtained will be used for that purpose. Thank you,NORTHSTAR LOCATION SERVICES, LLC4285 Genesee Street, Cheektowaga, NY 14225************ – ********************************************************************PRIVACY NOTICE: This email and any attachments, contain information that is, or may be, covered by communications privacy laws, and is also confidential and proprietary in nature. If you are not the intended recipient, please be advised that you are legally prohibited from retaining, using, copying, distributing, or otherwise disclosing this information in any manner. At the time, I did not request that document. I did ask at the time what had happened to the recurring payments that I setup on Northstars site. So, I dont know if the check that was returned to me that I returned back is either a final payment or should have been returned back to me as an overpayment. If Northstar was able to send that attachment confirming the final payment then Northstar is more than willing and capable of addressing previous questions/issues that I brought up in the past.  Regards, ***** *****
