Should have an option for zero stars. We've been in ******* since late December. Had someone check my house and the boiler was off. Turns out there was no oil in the tank. When customer service finally answered they said it was because I had a gate when they went to deliver. What?Called back because I couldn't understand the first rep. **** one said I had an outstanding balance of some $300 from the first delivery in late December, which I paid.I had just signed up with them. I asked why not call or email me or send a bill?When I asked them to fill the tank they said 3-5 business days to schedule a delivery. Hoping I don't have frozen pipes.A lot of one star reviews here. Too big to care about the little people. They performed my annual boiler cleaning on 1/17/2025, which had zero problems for years. Within 2 hours of leaving, the temperature in my house was 76 degrees. I called and they said to turn off boiler and restart to see if that fixes the problem. It has not. So my boiler is constantly burning oil at $3.59 a gallon. I called several times and they said they can't get a service technician out to my house until 1-30-2025. Their 24/7 emergency service is NOT applicable to me because I have heat. They literally told me to "open my windows" or shut down the boiler when it gets too hot for 2 weeks. So when I shut it down and it drops to ***** degrees, my zone downstairs drops to ***** degrees. I'm concerned about this boiler blowing up and I'm constantly shutting down and restarting a boiler. I am well aware there are people without heat and I am totally willing to wait several days for a technician, but 2 WEEKS!!! Funny how after 5 years of no issues, when my contract gets within a week of running it's course, all 7 sensors in my house, stopped working. When I called they tried to sell me a maintenance agreement for $110/year and extend my contact, or $90 for a service call. The idiot on the phone told me it was probably due to the cold weather. Doubt that, I called ADT and I'm dropping Slomin's this week and going to ADT. Buyer bewareReview from Laura T

Its Christmas Eve and my burner stopped working. I thought I had peace of mind because I have their survive plan and theyd send someone tonight but they told me they dont have anyone who can come and that theyll text me tomorrow as to when they can show up. No window of time or anything. Its below freezing outside. Why have a service plan if they cant support it?!?!Review from Danielle M

Buyer beware! ... Not sure why I am even wasting my time with writing this review. It appears as though Slomins does not value their customer concerns after reading all the other reviews, and feedback reported to the Better Business Bureau. I will never use this company again for my home heating oil. Their contract terms are misleading, and borderline fraudulent. I'm not sure how they are able to legally get away with delivering unsolicited oil fill ups at a 'expired' rate, charging well above fair market prices, after the contract rate had expired. Customers are led to believe their contract terms expires on a specific date, while Slomins retain the right to continue delivering oil without the consent of the consumer. They do not reach out prior to inquire about the customers needs or to renegotiate the rate based on fair market fluctuations. But instead, take the initiative to deliver without notice based on an 'expired rate' that somehow they retain the right to charge. This is a highly unethical business practice, and I do not see how it serves Slomins if there is any concern on their part to retain a loyal customer base. I asked for an adjustment on my bill after providing proof that they overcharged me about $200 compared to a competitor and they refused. Seeing as though the Better Business Bureau has had a large amount of similar complaints, I doubt that this review will serve to encourage Slomins to reconsider their faulty business practices. To me, it's a pathetic last ditch effort to make a few couple hundred bucks, while throwing away good paying customers. The point - if you want to ensure they are prohibited from scheduling any/all future deliveries, you must call their "cancellation department". When I called, conveniently no one in that department was available to speak. They make it almost impossible. I instead had to 'chat' with a customer service representative to confirm the account itself, was cancelled. I will not be using them in the future!Review from rebecca b

They stat on there website that they are 24/7 emergency. We have had no heat for over 24 hours and still no one has come to fix the issue. The temperature is at freezing ?? 23 degrees. I have an elderly person and a baby in the home. This is ridiculous.Review from Sandra C

The customer service is absolutely horrendous!!!!!! There is a total lack of customer service!!!! I've been trying since June 2024 to get a manual for their home security system to no avail. If you call customer service no one answers unless you want to purchase something. I am sooooo very disappointed and I'm considering dropping slomins.Review from Laura B

Tech left our hot water tank off after he serviced it customer service left us with no hot water for over 10 hours. He still hasnt returned, we have a contract and been loyal customer for 25 years. Just need someone to turn it back on. I had to cancel an urgent doctor appointment while waiting.HorribleReview from Michael L

Probably the worst company to use for any of your Heating And Cooling needs. All of the employees that work there are disgruntled. When they come to my house, all they do is talk about how bad things are there. I had an issue one day they came to my house to deliver fuel after they already deliver fuel about nine days prior, and they overfilled my tank and made a mess of my basement. I have been trying to cancel service and deliveries since last year in 2023, but since Im in a contract, they have to charge me $600 to cancel or buy a certain amount of fuel so I was forced to keep using slow means then when I got to that quota, they continue to bring me Fuel. I called in June 2024 after they brought me fuel again which I didnt want. They said OK I wont bring any more fuel. Sure enough last week I got another fill up which I didnt want and they charge me $3.79 Per gallon, which is absurd. When I called to complain, they had told me I was supposed to call back and tell him not to bring Fuel which Im pretty sure I did already. So Im trying desperately to have these people not bring me any more fuel, but they keep bringing it. They have a horrible customer service team and their managers and people in charge are Im not very nice at all and they give you a hard time about everything.Review from oswaldo s

my review is for the company as a whole. I switch to ******** during the summer of 2024. Now that is November I called to get oil deliver. My first conversation with a representative was "no need to call us, we have you schedule for the first week of November" I call again on the 19 of November and spoke to another person saying nothing was schedule and now they are putting me on schedule for the week of the 18 of November . today is Saturday November ************************************** there is nothing around my neighborhood and they will come sometime during the week of 25 of November. their automated service is all about how to collect a payment but not how to help a costumer. I had nothing but problems with **************. I would not recommend anyone to use their service.
