On 12/9/22, I handed in a Burberry coat to the dry cleaner and on 12/17, when I went to the store to pick up my coat, I noticed the side and back of my coat were irreversibly ruined by a few bleach stains (see attachment 1). The value of my coat is severely ruined by these damages and stains. I reached out to the manager/owner of the dry clean store on 12/17 and try to find a resolution. On 12/23, I delivered an official complaint letter to the owner (see attachment 2), and proposed two resolutions in my letter, including (i) reimburse me $1,028.48 in cash, which represents the replacement cost based on the purchase price of the coat ($963.00) with a 6.8% inflation adjustment, or (ii) send me a new Cashmere Kensington Trench Coat purchased from Burberry store or website. The owner and I discussed over the phone and think would be best to meet in person in the dry clean store at 9AM on 1/4 to discuss. Due to the owners personal reason, the in-person meeting never happened. On the same day, she proposed that (i) she can bring my coat to a Burberry store in *** in the afternoon to see if they can fix the damage, or (ii) she offered a $150 cash to me for the damage. I dont think $150 is a fair offer given the value of my coat. I permitted her to bring my coat to a Burberry store and told her that I would like to go to the store together with her. Again, due to her personal reason, she never went to the store that day. A few days after I followed up again and the owner asked me to take the coat to the Burberry store by myself because she is very busy. I rejected the request because I believe she should be taking the initiative on either fixing the coat, or get back with a cash offer that we both agree upon. As of today, there is still no progress on this issue Given I will be moving out of the country by end of Feb / early March, I would like to find a resolution with the dry cleaner sooner than later.Attachment 3 contains text messages between me & the dry cleaner
