I ordered a dress from New York Dress in March of 2025. In bold letters all over their page it says easy returns. So I added a dress to my cart thinking if it didnt fit I could easily get a refund. I contacted the seller the day it arrived letting them know it didnt work and Id like a refund to my card. I get a response with a copy of the a return policy which states no returns, store credit or exchange only .I feel manipulated. This is clearly meant to get people to buy and then get stuck with (poorly made) merchandise. This is false advertising. I hope to be refunded by the business. We regret to hear that you did not have a good experience with us. Our return policy is stated in multiple locations on our website. One being, upon checkout before proceeding you must agree to it. Easy returns refers to us providing a prepaid return shipping label for domestic customers instead of having to go through the hassle of buying it at the courrier. I am filing a complaint against NewYorkDress because I was not properly informed about their final sale policy before purchasing a dress.On March 15, 2025, a NewYorkDress stylist made the purchase on my behalf during a video call. The total cost was $255.21, including $30.21 for shipping. The stylist completed the transaction, and I did not personally check any agreement boxes or review the return policy. At no point did the stylist inform me that the dress was a final sale and could not be returned, exchanged, or refunded. If I had known this, I would not have proceeded with the purchase.When I later tried to return the dress, I was told that all sale items are final. While I understand store policies, I believe it was unfair that I was not properly informed of this policy before my purchase. Customers should be clearly told about important policies, especially when a store employee is making the purchase on their behalf.I am requesting a refund for this purchase. If a refund is not possible, I ask that NewYorkDress at least provide store credit as a fair resolution. I placed an order on their website they confirmed. They canceled my order saying I requested a refund (I didnt). I think its unfair they said I requested this refund due to their glitch. Its dishonest and their recompense of 5% discount isnt right. I didnt request the refund. It was their error. They confirmed the order. They should honor it.Business Response

Its very dishonest. I also disagree that a 5% discount is good enough. I paid. I didnt cancel. They were dishonest about the refund process, and this was not my error. I disagree with dishonest ethics. I also understand things happen but 5% doesnt even cover tax. I do not accept this response.

Prior to purchasing a dress on their website I informed myself of their sizing charts and how it varies from each designer and how to take the proper measurements. Based on the information on their website I choose the appropriate size.The dress should have fit snugly as per the sizing chart however arrived at least 2 sizes too large. I paid for expedited shipping as well as duties for the dress to arrive on time. When I tried it on yesterday to my dismay the dress was very large so I promptly reached out to see what can be done. The dress was on sale but not inexpensive despite that fact. They only responded that they cannot do anything because the dress was on sale and their policy indicates no exchange, credit or returns. I find this to be unacceptable because the reason is because of the incorrect information on their website and not buyers remorse. I was hoping to be able to exchange the size but they are not helpful at all and I will be needing to purchase another dress which I will not be doing from their website. I wish to be refunded for the amount I spent on this dress which is now rendered useless.Business Response

The size charts are a guide to help you choose the correct size but it is not a 100% guaranteed fit as the fit of the dress is based upon your shape and size along with the material of the dress. Please note I can appreciate the sizing chart is approximate and it is not a made to measure dress. According to my measurements the dress was expected to fit snug. The dress I received fits 2 sizes too big.
I ordered this dress with express shipping as I need it for the 19th.
I checked in your website and there was no size available below. However there was a listing of the same dress at a higher price with more sizes available. Im unsure if this dress is different in any way as the picture is identical. As for an exchange I would imagine that you would require the added days for the shipment to arrive before being able to order another dress with the credit provided. I would have to choose a new dress from your website which would likely not arrive in time. Ive already lost the expense of priority shipping and duties and would like to just return the dress for a full refund at this time.

The reason this dress had a different price than the other listing of the same is dress is because this particular dress was on sale. Although this item is final sale, as a one time courtesy we can accept this item back for a refund. You would be responsible for the return shipping and any duty costs can be refunded by filing a duty drawback with your courrier for the original customs fees.
